Paper Hearts & Origami Cranes
Back to Before
~ Kat's POV ~
An exciting day for everyone. The day of graduation. I gave him that letter. The letter sealed in a small, yellow envelope with a red origami heart made of paper inside. I gave him the letter with his name written on if in cursive and my name written with small letters at the bottom right.
"Kat Desai"
I wasn't the only person who gave him a letter. Once everyone found out he would be in a new upcoming boy group for Bighit Entertainment everyone started congratulating him and asking him for autographs. A bunch of girls would go up and giggle around him like they fell in love with him all of a sudden. I have liked him for almost four years now! I am glad I have Kim to hold me down from screaming at those fake girls acting like they like him.
- Hours later...-
The graduation ceremony is ending! I wonder if Jungkook read it. I hope he did. Right after today I am going on vacation in America to see family and he won't be able to contact me. I will be in America for two months.
Clapping started. I guess the graduation ceremony is over. Everyone started talking and getting up from their seats. My mom and dad were trying to figure out how to use my photography camera while my little brother sat on a chair beside them. I guess I could wait and see if Jungkook read it.
I walked up to Kim. "Do you think Jungkook read it?" I asked her.
She looked at him from a distance. She then sighed.
"If he did he probably doesn't feel the same way. I am sorry Kit Kat," Kim put her hand on my shoulder. I decided to go up to Jungkook. He was smiling and laughing with his future group mates.
"Um," I said awkwardly as I tried to get through two of his group members. They were way taller than me. "Jungkook." He looked at me and pushed through his friends to get to me. He smiled.
"Hi Kat," he said with a smile. His black hair was so long that it hit his eyes. I tried holding back from moving it out of his eyes. His friends stared at me for a bit and teased him. I could tell they were older.
"Did you get to read my letter yet by any chance?" I asked trying so hard to stay calm and not hug him which might be our last and first hug ever.
"No, I am sorry I didn't. I have it is my bag but my parents have it."
"Oh well... it is okay I guess. Just read it as soon as possible," I pouted a bit afterwards.
"If it is important I could get it right now. Hey Taehyung-" I grabbed his arm before he could fully turn around. It also interrupted his speaking. I tried to smile. "It is okay Jungkook. Just please read it." He smiled at me back. Then he replied, "I will read it thank you."
We started talking for a few more minutes. He told me about his group mates and his upcoming debut. I told him about my vacation in America. When we were finished with the conversation we smiled and shook hands. After that he pulled me into a hug. I don't know if I made the hug awkward or his friends did. I could tell they were watching us. When we pulled away from each other he smiled.
"Bye Kat," he said.
"Bye Jungkook," I sighed. Our first hug, maybe our last. He didn't even read the letter yet. He doesn't know how much the hug felt to me. It made me happy yet sad. The hug was like a goodbye gift and a sign we won't see each other again.
