Sweet Love

Nessie came into the lobby of the bakery. As usual, her favorite customer had come. She smiled happily. She opened the letter he had left for her. As she read it, she couldn’t help smiling.

She had come to think of the customer as a great friend and sibling. He was always asking about the bakery and her life. Nessie adored getting these letters. She didn’t really have any friends in South Korea. She was too engrossed in reading the letter that she didn’t notice someone walk in.

The person cleared their throat. Nessie was startled. She smiled warmly at the person. “Can I help you with something, sir?”

The person smiled. “My boss would like to meet with you. He has a friend who is a customer.”

Nessie was happy. “Let me get cleaned up a little first.”

The man nodded. Nessie went to clean up. When she got back to the lobby, the guy was taking pictures of all her deserts. “Why are you taking pictures?”

The man said, “My boss wanted me to take pictures of what you offer in the bakery.”

“This isn’t everything I offer. I have booklets printed with everything I offer. I can bring one for your boss.”

The man smiled happily. “That would be great.”

Nessie went and got her booklet. The man and she went outside. They got into a limo that was waiting outside. The limo took them to SM Entertainment. Nessie gulped when she got out of the limo and saw the building.

Nessie followed the man into the building. They went to the elevator, and they went to the top floor. The man knocked on the office door. A voice asked, “Who is it?”

The man said, “She is here, boss.”

“She can come in.”

Nessie took a deep breath and went into the office. She bowed to the man. The man said, “It is nice to meet you, Nessie.”

Nessie smiled. “It is nice to meet you too. I heard you were interested in my sweets.”

“I am. One of my artists has a friend that goes to your shop every day. He brings us some sweets occasionally. The whole company loves them.”

Nessie was happy to hear that. “What did you want to talk to me about?”

“My name is Lee Song Min. I was wondering if you would be interested in an exclusive contract with our company.”

Nessie thought about it. “It sounds nice, but I use other artists from other companies.”

Mr. Lee smiled and said, “I can understand why you’re worried. I will call the other CEOs of the other companies. We will have a meeting.”

Nessie nodded. She suddenly remembered all the cupcakes she had brought. “Would you mind if I walked around and handed out cupcakes?”

“No, I don’t mind. I will send someone to get you when everyone arrives.”

Nessie nodded. She left the office and grabbed the cupcakes. She started going to the practice rooms and handing out cupcakes. When she got to the last practice room, she knew it had to be Super Junior’s practice room. The door was slightly ajar, and the members were talking really loud.

Nessie quietly walked up to the door and listened to what they were saying. A member asked, “Kangin, are you going to tell Nessie it’s been you writing her those letters?”

Nessie was shocked. Kangin said, “I don’t see why I should.”

Before she could hear anything else, she backed away from the door. She made a lot of noise as she made her way to the door this time. She knocked on the door. A voice said, “Come in.”

Nessie opened the door and went in. “Hello, my name is Nessie. I brought sweets from my shop.”

All the guys in Super Junior smiled. Leeteuk said, “Thank you, Nessie. We all love your sweets.”

Nessie smiled happily. Just then a guy walked in. “Nessie, Mr. Lee has the other CEOs in the meeting room.”

Nessie nodded. She went to the meeting room. All the CEOs of the other companies were sitting around a large oval table. Mr. Lee said, “I called you all here because I want Nessie to sign a contract with me. She feels she needs permission from all of you since she uses artists from all of our companies.”

One by one, the other CEOs agreed to Nessie signing the contract. After they all agreed, they left. Mr. Lee pulled out the contract, and Nessie signed it. Mr. Lee noticed that Nessie was sad. “What is wrong, Nessie?”

“I was listening to Super Junior talk before I went into the practice room, and Kangin said he saw no reason to tell me he was the one writing me the letters. I thought we thought of each other as siblings. I guess not.”

Mr. Lee suddenly got an idea. He called his secretary and told her to get Super Junior to him. Nessie started to panic. Before she could do anything, Mr. Lee pushed her into a secret closet he had in the meeting room. She could still hear what was going on in the meeting room.

Super Junior walked in and sat down. Mr. Lee said, “I’m disappointed in you, guys. You made Nessie cry.”

Everyone gasped in surprise. Leeteuk asked, “How did we make her cry?”

“I don’t know. Were you talking aqbout something that might have upset her? She could have over heard something as well.”

Nessie could feel tears running down her face. Everyone knew what he was talking about. Kangin stood up and said, “I’ll go talk to her.”

Before he could take a step, Mr. Lee pushed a button and the closet opened. Nessie fell out of the closet onto her knees. She looked like she was about to hyperventilate. Kangin ran to her side. “You idiot. She’s claustrophobic.”

Kangin held Nessie and rocked her. “It’s okay, Nessie. I’m here for you.”

Nessie held onto Kangin tightly. Kangin sighed. He knew it would be a while before Nessie was okay. “I’m taking her to our dorm.”

Kangin picked Nessie up bridal style and walked out of the meeting room. The rest of the members followed him. They went downstairs and got on a bus that was just for Super Junior. Halfway to the dorm, kangin realized that Nessie was asleep. He smiled gently at her sleeping form and ran his hand through her hair.

The other members watched Kangin as he held Nessie. It took about twenty-five minutes to get to the dorm. Kangin carried Nessie into the dorm and put her in his bed. After he covered her, he went into the living room, and the other members were waiting for him. Kangin said, “Okay. Let me have it.”

Ryeowook sighed. “All I was going to say was you should allow her to be your sister. She already sees you as a brother, and you are really protective of her.”

Everyone nodded in agreement. Kangin shrugged. “I guess it wouldn’t hurt.”

The bedroom door opened, and Nessie came out while rubbing her eyes. When she saw the members of Super Junior, she froze. Kanging could tell she was afraid. “It’s alright, Nessie. No one here will hurt you.”

Kangin tried to take a small step towards Nessie, but she took a step back and shook her head. She pointed to her throat and pretended to drink. Ryeowook asked, “Are you thirsty, Nessie?”

Nessie nodded. Ryeowook smiled and went into the kitchen. When he came back out, he had a glass of water with him. “Here you go, Nessie.”

Nessie drank some water. “Thank you, Ryeowook.”

Ryeowook smiled at Nessie. Kangin cleared his throat. Nessie sighed and looked at him. “What did you want, Kangin?”

“I wanted to talk to you.”

Nessie nodded. Kangin said, “I would like for us to be siblings. I know you over heard what we were talking about earlier. I just said that because I didn’t know how you would handle me being the one who was writing you those letters.”

Nessie thought about it for a while. “I understand. I’m glad you changed your mind.”

Nessie and Kangin smiled happily at each other. Siwon said, “Sorry to interrupt your moment, but I have a question.”

Kangin said, “Ask away.”

“How do you know she was claustrophobic, Kangin?”

“She told me in one of her letters.”

Nessie smiled. “I guess I should be going.”

Before she could go anywhere, Kangin stopped her. “Where have you been staying? In your last letter, you said you still haven’t found a place to stay.”

Nessie sighed. “I’ve been staying in the office at the bakery.”

Kangin shook his head. Everyone was surprised. Donghae asked, “Haven’t you been in South Korea a while? Shouldn’t you have been able to find a place by now?”

Nessie shrugged. “I have been here a couple of years. Most Koreans don’t welcome Americans in their neighborhoods.”

The guys couldn’t believe that no one had taken a chance on Nessie. Kangin suddenly got a determined expression on his face. “Stay with us, Nessie.”

Nessie bit her lip nervously. “I don’t want to impose. I also don’t think your CEO will let me.”

Kangin smirked. “You’re not imposing. Let me handle the CEO.”

Nessie nervously said, “I guess. If you guys are sure it’s okay.”

Everyone nodded. Nessie smiled. Eunhyuk asked, “Where is she going to sleep though?”

“I’ll sleep in the living room.”

The guys shrugged. Nessie suddenly thought of something. “Oh! I forgot my booklet at the office.”

Kangin asked, “Is it that important?”

Nessie shook her head. “Not really.”

Hankyung asked, “What are we going to do for the rest of the day?”

Everyone shrugged. Kangin asked, “Does anyone got any ideas?”

Nessie suddenly got an idea. “I would like to spend the rest of the day getting to know all of
you.”

Everyone thought about it. Siwon said, “It sounds like a good idea to me. She only knows stuff about Kangin."

Shindong asked, “Should we play a game?”

Kangin grinned. “That’s a wonderful idea.”

Nessie thought of a really good game to play. “I think we should play Truth or Dare.”

Everyone thought about it. They thought it was a good idea. Nessie asked, “Who goes first?”

Kibum said, “I want to go first.”

Everyone agreed with him. Kibum asked, “Kangin, why did you start to write the letters to Nessie?”

Nessie said, “I always wondered that too.”

Kangin sighed. “I walked by her shop. It hardly had any customers. I thought the sweets might
be the reason, but they were wonderful. I decided to write her letters because I didn’t want her to know who I was yet. As the letters continued, I felt like I had gained a great friend and sister.”

Everyone smiled. Nessie went over to Kangin and hugged him. “I feel the same way. You are an awesome friend and brother.”

“Nessie, what did you do before you started selling sweets,” Kangin asked.

“I did odd jobs.”

They spent the rest of the day playing the game. Around nine o’clock that night, Shindong said, “We need to go to bed. We have a busy day tomorrow.”

They gave Nessie a blanket and pillow for the couch. They all went to sleep.
