Moving

Nessie was in her third block. She was silently listening to the teacher as she sat in the back of the classroom. The classroom door opened, and the principal came in. The teacher asked, "What can I do for you, principal?"

The principal smiled. "We have a transfer student. Do you have room for another student?"

The transfer student walked in. The teacher said, "We have room for one more."

The principal nodded. He turned to the transfer student and said, "You can go sit in the seat over there."

The principal pointed at the seat in front of Nessie. Nessie was the only one who understood the principal because the principal had spoken in Korean. The transfer student walked over to the seat and sat down. Nessie asked, "What is your name?"

Everyone was surprised when Nessie spoke Korean. The transfer student smiled and said, "My name is Key. I'm glad someone speaks Korean in this class."

Nessie smiled happily at Key. The principal said, "Nessie, since you speak Korean I'm putting you in charge of making sure Key is able to understand everything."

Nessie nodded, and the principal left. While the teacher started the lesson again, Nessie began to tell Key everything. The bell rang to release them from class. Nessie said, "We have lunch for the next thirty minutes and then another thirty minutes of art."

Key nodded. They went to the cafeteria and got their food. They sat down and began to eat. Key asked, "Nessie, do you know anywhere I can stay?"

Nessie nodded. "You can stay with me."

"Won't your parents mind?"

"No. My parents died two years ago. I live by myself."

"okay."

They finished their food and headed to the art classroom. The teacher walked in and said, "Today, I want everyone to paint a different country that they want to visit."

Nessie smiled and divided her paper into three different parts because she wanted to visit three different countries. She preceded to draw China, Japan and South Korea. When the class was close to being over, the teacher said, "Leave your paintings on your table and have a good weekend."

Nessie and Key got their stuff together and left. They went to Nessie's house. Key was surprised when they got to a mansion. Key asked, "How can you afford this place?"

Nessie smirked. "My parents owned a major toy factory, and I've made some good investments."

Key nodded. They went inside, and Nessie showed Key to a room that was close to her. "You can decorate this room anyway you want."

"Thanks, Nessie. I really appreciate this."

Nessie smiled happily. "Anything for a friend. I'll leave you to unpack."

Nessie left the room and went to the kitchen. She had to start making dinner. She was making kimchi. It took her about thirty minutes to make the kimchi and all the side dishes. Shen went upstairs and went to Key's room.

She knocked on the door. "Key, dinner is ready."

"Okay. I'll be right down."

Nessie went back downstairs and set the table. Just as she was finishing, Key came into the dinning room. Nessie said, "I hope kimchi is okay. I know you eat it all the time in South Korea, but I normally make it on Fridays."

"It's okay. I think it's good that you know how to make food from my country."

Nessie smiled happily. They sat down and ate. Key asked, "Do you always eat dinner this early?"

"During the week I do becausee the school lunches don't really make me full. Dinner is later on the weekends."

Key nodded. Nessie suddenly thought of something. "You know our summer break starts in two weeks. What are you going to do for summer break?"

Key thought for a moment. "I was planning to go back to South Korea. Truthfully, I already graduated high school. I just wanted to know what the schools were like over here."

Nessie nodded. "I've already graduated as well. I just go for the fun now."

"Do you want to go to South Korea with me? I could introduce you to my friends."

"I would like that. I hope they like me."

Key smiled reassuringly. "They will love you. I should warn you. All my friends are gay, and some are zealous in showing their affection."

Nessie smiled and nodded.
