[3PM] Annie and Richard had finished with their food. They paid and walked in front of the cafe outside to say their last words before leaving separate ways.

Annie : thank you for the lunch dad.
Richard (*smiles & says) : your welcome Annie.
Annie : im sorry we didnt get enough time to talk more. i have to get back to work now.
Richard : its alright. we can talk or text on the phone.
Annie : sounds great.

Annie and Richard exchanged phone numbers on their cellphones. Then Annie hugged her dad and walked back to diner. He also left to his rental car in the parking lot to a meeting.

Annie walked into the diner and to the back to clock back in to work. She put on her apron and went to the front. She stood there behind the counter filling the napkin containers again and taking orders of customers who sat at the counters. Liz was happy to see Annie back to work and began to ask Annie where she had went for the hour while working.

Liz (*asks as standing next to Annie) : where did you go for the hour ?
Annie : just somewhere.
Liz (*asks) : you went to eat by yourself ?
Annie : no. i went with someone.
Liz : don't tell me you have a boyfriend already.
Annie (*giggles & says) : no.
Liz (*asks) : then what is it ?

Then Laura walked through the front door on the diner taking a seat towards Annie and Liz.

Laura (*asks Annie as rushing in) : whats the big news you couldn't tell me over the phone ?
Annie (*asks) : coffee first ?
Laura : hit me.

Annie went to prepare Laura a cup of coffee and put the cup in front of her. Laura took a sip of coffee and then asks....

Laura (*asks) : so whats the news ?
Liz (*asks) : whats going on ?
Laura : Annie has something to tell us.
Annie : i just had lunch with my dad.
Laura : i thought you said you didnt know who your dad was.
Annie : i didnt but he came to me yesterday after i clocked out.
Liz (*asks) : so thats the person who i talked to yesterday ? was your dad ?
Annie : yeah, that was him.
Laura (*asks) : and what did he want ?
Annie : he wanted to see me and get to know me.
Annie : so we went to have lunch together just now.
Liz (*asks) : what did you two talk about ?
Annie : it turns out that we have a lot in common.
Annie : he's a certified doctor who has clinics in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan.
Annie : and even in Korea now. he even has a hospital in Korea too.
Annie : now that he found me, he wants me to go back to Asia with him to work.
Annie : and possibly move to Korea with him too.
Laura (*asks) : and what did you say ?
Annie : i said id think about it.
Laura (*asks) : what about your dream of working at the hospital at UCLA ?
Annie : now that my dad is back and he's giving me this opportunity,
Annie : i dont think i want the UCLA dream anymore. its kind of unreal at this point.
Liz (*asks) : are you sure that its your birth father and not some man you just met ?
Annie : no, im definitely sure its my father.
Annie : he has a copy of my birth certificate and my DNA sample that has relations to my mom.
Laura : if thats the case, then you should follow your dad to Asia.
Laura : you cant turn down this opportunity now Annie.
Annie : i think i should.
Liz (*asks) : when are you leaving ?
Annie : right after graduation, literally.
Liz : thats so soon.
Annie : he wants me to leave right away so i could start this journey.
Liz : that means i have to find a new worker.
Annie : im sorry Liz.
Liz : its alright.
Annie : Laura. ive been doing some thinking after my dad left the cafe shop.
Laura (*asks) : what is it ?
Annie : you've been wanting to go back to Taiwan to work.
Annie : so i was thinking if you wanted to come with me to work at the clinic in Taiwan.
Annie : you could work as a nurse there and i will work as the doctor.
Annie : we will work along side each other like we used to.
Laura (*asks) : and what will happen when you leave to Hong Kong ?
Annie : you could stay in Taiwan to work and live there too.
Annie : or you could follow me all the way to Korea.
Annie (*asks) : what do you say ?
Laura (*asks) : did you even ask your dad yet ?
Annie : i'll ask him and you can be there to hear it all. he'll definitely let you go with me.
Laura (*asks) : are you sure about this ?
Annie : im sure. you dont have anywhere else to go after we graduate anyways.
Annie : please Laura. i need you to be there by my side to the very end.
Annie : we're best friends.
Laura (*smiles & says) : alright.
Laura : i should get packing then.
Annie (*smiles & says) : you should.
Laura : thanks Annie.
Annie : dont thank me yet. we still have to get an approval from my dad.
Laura (*giggles & says) : right.
Laura : i got to go study for the midterm now.
Annie : alright.
Laura : i'll see you later.
Annie : bye.

Laura finished her cup of coffee and stood up to leave the diner. Annie cleaned up Laura's area and continued to work again.
