Please Don't Get Too Friendly

"WHAAAAAT?"

My friends gaped at me with wide eyes.

"You're really moving in Korea..." began Carry.

"...To become an idol?" finished Rosemary.

I chuckled softly. For sure, these twins will never change.
"Yeah, I am. An employee will come over tonight to oversee the details and everything."

"No way am I accepting it!" whined Sasha. "Ugh, if only I hadn't made you do that stupid bet. No!!! Don't go!!!" she complained, using a five year-old voice.

"Come on, Sasha. It won't be that bad. It's not like I'm dying! We'll still talk to each other. I swear I’m going to contact you every day, no matter how tired I am. Okay?” I said tenderly, trying to comfort her.

She pouted and stared at me with puppy eyes.

"Even if you do that, you know it's useless," I sighed, tying to make her listen to reason.

I could understand why she acted like that, though. We had been together ever since 2nd year of middle school, the year my parents died. Although I was a perfect student and good in pretty much every discipline, my life wasn't like in a drama where the perfect student is admired and popular. On the contrary, I was ostracized and bullied by a lot of people. But I didn't really mind them and that angered them even more. So one day, someone had taken me behind the school and around 20 people had thrown garbage at me, telling me to get lost and insulting me. But then, Sasha came around and got them to stop. I have to say she was pretty influent in our year, since she was very charismatic and funny. Since that day, nobody had ever picked on me again. Sasha had made it her personal mission to make me happy and have a great school life. I can tell you she succeeded. But now, after seven years, I had to leave her... and it hurt so bad.

"I'll call you everyday and text everytime I have time to spare. That goes for you two as well," I added as I looked over to the twins.

They all nodded and we spent the rest of the day walking around, shopping and eating. At around 5 o'clock, I said goodbye to them and went back to my apartment, feeling more and more anxious. I made myself some pasta and watched the TV as I waited for some sort of employee to come. Finally, at around 7:30, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and saw a beautiful woman, seemingly in her thirties, smiling at me with perfect white teeth.

"I assume you are Amy Lee, right?" she said, with a bit of a korean accent.

"Yea-yes," I corrected myself nervously.

She laughed softly and entered at my clumsy invitation. We took place in the small living room and she showed me the papers.

"Take all the time you need to read, if you have any questions, please ask me."

I read the documents one by one while the woman presented herself.

"My name is Sok Jung Ah. I will be your manager when you debut. Let's get along well, shall we?"

I smiled at her, nodded and went back to reading. After a few minutes, I finished everything.

"Are you finished? Do you have any questions at all? No? Then let's proceed to the formalization of the papers. Please sign here, here and here," she said, business-like. "How much time do you need to get prepared?" she asked.

"Get prepared for what?" I asked, puzzled.

"To go to Korea, of course," she said, matter-of-factly.

I stared at her, struck in disbelief.

"I'm moving today?"

She nodded, obviously amused that I hadn't realised that before.

"When else would you want to move? You've just agreed to everything. So, how much time?" she asked again.

"Uhm... Around... An hour?" I said, panicking slightly.

Crap, I didn't know about that. I have to call Sasha and the twins to say goodbye. Jung Ah then called someone. After a few minutes, she nodded happily and turned to me.

"People are going to come over to pick up your stuff and put it in the plane. Please, go ahead and call anyone you would like to say goodbye to," she said kindly.

I nodded and hurriedly called my best friend. It took her over fifteen minutes to understand the situation and stop crying.

"I'm going to miss you sooooo muuuch," she sobbed in the phone. "But I'll still think about you, okay? Please remember me, even after you meet your super gorgeous and fantastic members, okay? Pleaaaa-se," she hiccuped.

I swore to her that I wouldn't forget and her and moved to the twins. They were brought to tears too, but it was less dramatic than the last phone call. After those calls, I told Jung Ah that I was done.

"Don't you want to call your parents as well? Didn't you just call your friends? she asked, curious and confused.

"I wish I could, but they're not alive anymore, so that's a bit more complicated," I laughed softly.

She made a shocked and sad face. Yeah, how could she have know? It wasn't her fault, so I told her so. We waited for the men to come and pack my things up, then we left in a company car to go to the airport. My future manager and I talked for the whole trip, learning more about each other. We got along really well, I was really glad for that. We then arrived to the airport and, after going through all the security stuff, we went and got our places in the plane, which was pretty empty. We both relaxed in our VIP class seats. I had the seat next to the window, which was really nice. It was actually the first time I had gone in an airplane, so it was a pretty awesome first experience. The plane finally started to move and I watched in awe as the ground beneath us disappeared quickly and was replaced by clouds and a beauitfully lit, sunset sky.

What if I made a wrong decision?

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I didn't write anything here in the first chapter, I was in a hurry and completely forgot. I really hope you like this first fanfiction of mine, I'm really doind my best.
