The Foreigner and Got7
One More Week
Ayana’s POV
The next two days passed by without any texts or calls. It was horrible. Every time my phone rang, I thought it was them. I kept having to remind myself that they were Got7, not my personal text buddies, no matter how frustrating.
On the day of the fan meet, I got up and did a few chores before finally deciding to get ready. On my way out of the apartment, I double checked my bag to make sure I had Jackson’s umbrella. With a smiling face, I headed out.
It was crowded when I got to the outdoor venue. A stage was set up with shades as the fans lined up excitedly outside. I, however, was in no rush. It was best not to be shoved about in the crowd with my injured arm and so I stayed towards the back as the crowd horded the front, trying to get a close up of the members as they arrived in their large white vans.
I smiled as I heard each members name being shouted in the crowd and from a distance I could see that they were all wearing matching clothes. I could tell which one was Jackson though. His hat pretty much gave him away from a mile away.
Time passed and little by little, the line started to move. I waited patiently, clutching the bag with my poster, CD, and Jackson’s umbrella in hand.
“Next please.” The girl before me moved on excitedly as I moved up, next in line. I watched as she ascended the stairs and disappeared slightly out of sight. The whole time I had been calm, but suddenly, I felt restless.
“Next please.” I looked up at the lady calling me and smiled as I started up the stairs. I was halfway up, the boys clearly in my sight and I smiled as Youngjae noticed me and nodded. I saw him nudge BamBam next to him who sent me a bright smile of his own. My phone was in my hand and I was about to slide it into my bag, but just then, it rang with a text. I looked down quickly and noticed the name that flashed on the screen.
“No…not now…”
“Ma’am please move on, there are other fans waiting.” The lady handling the line said to me, a bit impatiently. I looked at her and then at the members, who were busy with the other fans.
“Ma’am please move.” The lady said more sternly, catching other people’s attention. This time JB and Mark noticed too and I looked at them, mouthed a quick sorry, and walked right off the stage the way I came.
When I got to a quiet place, I looked down at my phone with a grim expression. Sighing, I texted back the person.
“What is it?”
“Why don’t you pick up when I call you?” A man said on the other end.
“I’ve been busy.” I said, half-heartedly.
“That’s not the right response. I told you, when I call, pick up on the first ring.” I stayed silent, observing the garden of flowers before me. “I called to tell you that I spoke to your sergeant and her higher ups, looks like we can manage to pull you out of the army.”
“What?!” I said as the words immediately grabbed my attention.
“I’m booking a ticket for you to fly back home.” The man said, completely ignoring me.
“Wait. Why would you do such a thing?” I asked, trying to control the anger in my voice.
“Because I can. Besides I need you back home for something.” The voice said nonchalantly.
“But-“
“I have to go, I’ll have my secretary email you all the papers so that you can sort it out with your sergeant.” Before I could say another word, the line went dead.
I stared at the phone in my hand for several seconds before collapsing on the bench behind me.
“Why…” I sat there for a long time. The fan meet was almost over and even though I could go meet the boys, I decided against it.
I got up to leave after a while when my phone suddenly buzzed.
“What now?” I said looking at my phone angrily when I noticed Jackson’s name pop up on my screen.
“Where are you? The others said they saw you!!!” I sighed and replied back.
“Sorry…something came up. I can leave your umbrella with a staff member, is that okay?” I waited for a reply, standing in the shade of a tree. The sun was beginning to hide behind storm clouds again.
“No, don’t do that!” I read out loud and looked towards the entrance of the venue, wondering if I should still go.
“Okay, then should I hold on to it?” I typed back.
“No, I need it today. Look, the members and I have free time after this and we’re going to a secluded park a few blocks away from here. I’ll give you the address. When you get there, call me.”
“But it’s about to rain!” I typed back looking up at the ever darkening sky. Seconds ticked by with no response. I almost gave up just as a text came through but it was only an address.
Sighing, I put the address into my GPS and saw that it really wasn’t far and started walking. The venue was clearing out quickly and I had to weave myself around a bunch of squealing girls and made my way up the block, watching as the sky grew darker.
“What are they going to do at a park if it’s going to start raining?” I spoke to myself as I continued to walk. My foul mood from the phone call earlier wasn’t letting up that easily as my brain raced with thoughts about what I would do…
If things did go the way he wanted, I would only be in Korea for another week.
Jackson’s POV
I waited impatiently as the car parked in the park parking lot and the others climbed out.
“It’s going to rain…” Junior said looking up at the sky.
“It’s a good thing Ayana has your umbrella, right Jackson?” I looked over at BamBam to find him and Yugyeom sneering and I mentally promised them a world of pain.
“Where is she, anyways?” Mark said looking around him as if she’d be standing right there.
“She should be on her way here.” I said looking at my phone.
“I’ll call her.” BamBam said, pulling out his phone ready to dial but I quickly snatched it out of his hand.
“Hey! Give it back!” He said as I easily held his skinny body with one arm.
“Payback!” I said as I quickly shot her a text.
“We should get inside.” JB said and I looked at him and nodded as the others and I followed our leader inside the parks indoor gym. The interior reminded me of P.E. time when I was back in school.
“Alright, let’s get changed first.” JB said, heading towards the back where a sign above the door pointed towards the locker room.
“Yeah.” We started following him when one of the managers came rushing in.
“Jackson!” He called and we all stopped and looked at him.
“What is it, hyung?” I asked.
“I’m sorry but we have to go.” I stared at the man.
“What?” I asked, my smile fading little by little as he apologized for booking a shoot.
It wasn’t long before I was sulking inside of an empty white van, leaving my members behind with instructions to have fun with Ayana as I drove off to my shoot.
