As Blind As Could Be...

“Sorry guys… I can’t go with you now. My breaks been over, and I should already be in the observation room. I-” Seungsoo gets interrupted.

“Seungsoo Oppa, don’t worry about it. I’ll call you later, when I get my phone.” You smile.

“Hyung, don’t pressure yourself, we’ll come and visit often!” Kyungsoo says as he guides you out of the hospital.

“Ne!” He yells back waving goodbye and smiling.

As you walk out of the hospital, out to the sidewalk you look up. You see the skyscrapers, taxis, cars, buses, etc. Kyungsoo looks at you and laughs.

“It’s a lot to take in isn’t it?”

“Eo.”

“So where do you want to go first?”

“School.”

“School? Shouldn’t we get you a phone first?”

“If you want to, then let’s go. I don’t want to get lost.” You smile sheepishly.

“It’s an honor to be at your service Mr. and Ms. DO. Which phone would you like?”

“The latest one, please. Color should be Rose Gold and get the protection shields.” Kyungsoo says. The lady just nods and heads to the back to get specifically what he said.

After receiving your phone, you kindly thank the worker and head for the door, Kyungsoo behind you. As you open the door, someone walks in and bumps into you, making the man drop his phone in his hand.

“Aish! Seriously, what the hell!” The stranger says not bothering to look up at you. “It’s in a worse condition than it already was.” He picked up his phone and examined it.

“I’m sorry I didn’t-” You start to say.

“What are you, blind?” He yells.

You were silent, unable to respond. Kyungsoo is about to butt in, but you stop him.

“I was a few hours ago.” You say back.

He gets up and looks at you. His eyes widened before the beautiful girl he saw.

“Do Eunsoo-shi. I didn’t know. I was wrong, I’m sorry.” He bowed. He then looked at Kyungsoo who had an eyebrow raised with a straight face.

“Do Kyungsoo hyung, how have you been?” The stranger scratched his nape.

His voice is familiar.

“I’m fine Chanyeol, but it’s not the time to ask.” Kyungsoo replies.

“Let me pay for your phone, I’ll get you a brand new one.” You offer.

“......I guess. Thank you.” Chanyeol hands you his phone.

Once you paid for his phone, you left Chanyeol, who was waiting for his new one, and was about to get into your car.

“Wait!” Chanyeol says, holding the store door open.

Kyungsoo was already in the car and you were about to get in.

“Yes?” You smile.

“Thank you once again for the phone (he bows). I’ll see you at school.” Chanyeol says.

You nod your head and bow. You then get inside the car, but Chanyeol stops you once again.

“Eunsoo-shi, can I have your number?” Chanyeol grins.

Kyungsoo, instead of you, answers him.

“Get lost Chanyeol, I know you’ll be giving it out to people.”

With that, Kyungsoo pulls you in the car. The car started moving. You watch as Chanyeol was no longer visible from the window. The car was quiet for a few minutes.

“Who is he?” You say, breaking the silence.

“Lowerclassmen. Your suppose to be in his class, but since you were blind, you were with me... (mumbles to himself) And he's in club.” Kyungsoo looks down as you look at him.

“So… now that I can see, am I going to switch classes?” You ask.

“That’s what father wants, and nothing stops him.”

“You’re right. I guess we aren’t the inseparable siblings anymore Oppa.”

“Don’t say that, we are. Just because we aren’t in the same class or year anymore, doesn’t mean we won’t see each other. Besides, we’re in music club together, remember? You were the one to start the club.” Kyungsoo finally looks back at you and you relax in relief.

“Right, right. I forgot.”

“And that’s how we know Chanyeol. We’ll I mean, that’s how I know Chanyeol, since you haven’t physically seen him, until now.”

“I guess I have to start everything over, like a transfer student.” You say.

It was already 4 pm. You didn’t have lunch either and you were starving.

“I figured we see Appa and Eomma. We could have an early dinner with them. I know Appa has a meeting around seven.” Kyungsoo smiles at you.

“Alright.” You say, not disagreeing. Father and Mother have the right to see you. Mother should be back from school, since she was the Chairwoman or principal of the school you attended.

When you arrived at home, you received embrace from Appa and Eomma. Immediately, you went to a fancy restaurant for dinner and celebration.

You talked how you’d live differently from now on. You wouldn’t be sleeping with Kyungsoo anymore, but in a different room, next to Kyungsoo’s room. You too would share a bathroom. In school, you’ll move down to the class your originally suppose to be in, (with Chanyeol). Kyungsoo will guide you through school for the first few days until you get the hang of everything. You’ll attend a therapy group, where you and others go around different places and experience new things. All you did was smile and accept the words they were spitting at you. Kyungsoo smiled because your parents want you to do many things since you’re capable to see now. It shows how caring they are towards you.

That night, you were told to sleep in Kyungsoo’s room one last time. Your room still needed the furniture. You slept on the right side of the bed (from the first pov), closer to the door. Kyungsoo slept on the left side, closer to the window. He faced you, but you faced away.

There’s so much to take in today. I can finally see. I can finally live a normal life.

You turn to Kyungsoo, who’s large, bold eyes were staring directly into yours, and you didn’t break the stare.

I can finally be less of a burden to Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo’s skin was shining from the faint moonlight. You caressed it with your right hand. (your on your left side) He overlaps your right hand with his left, (on his right side) and smiles. He takes your right hand and kisses the palm.

“Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere and I don’t plan on leaving you any time soon.” Kyungsoo says, kissing your right palm over and over again. You laugh.

“Thank you, oppa.” You reply, with a huge smile on your face.

“You were never a burden for me. I enjoy taking care of and cherishing the most precious diamond jewel I ever need.” With that you blush. “From now on, instead of only giving to me, you will also be receiving from me. I haven’t been able to do anything for you over the past eleven years. It’s my fault you’ve only been giving to everyone, you haven’t been receiving the same amount of love from me or anyone. I-”

“You still being with me is enough love I need. I don’t want anything else but your happiness.” He says, putting your hand on his chest. You feel his heartbeat.

“Me too. All I want is your happiness since the day I lost my sight. But now that I have my sight back and I can properly give you and fulfill your happiness.” You put his hand on your chest and he felt your heartbeat.

Instead of him leaving his hand there, he put his left arm around your waist. He pulls you closer and your right hand rested on his chest. Your head rested on his right arm, where his biceps and triceps were. You smelled his peppermint scent. He smelled your vanilla scent. Oh, how he loved his you. He just wanted to kiss you, but he knows that's wrong, so he keeps it to himself. Thinking about this, he smirks. He looks down and sees you were sleeping already. He smiles.

“Ne. Can’t every night be just like this? Hm. Yeowang, I don’t want you to leave me at night, when you just found me. (A/N: If you understand what I mean :D).” Kyungsoo whispers.

Secretly, you overheard him. By telling him you were still awake, you nod your head. He stiffens, you smiled. He soon relaxes and kisses your head in return.

“I love you.” He whispers, burying his face in your hair.

“Love you too.” You say, head buried in his chest.

His grip around you tightens and you slowly fall asleep together, in happiness. If only nights stayed this peaceful.
