As Blind As Could Be...

Someone covers your mouth. You scream, but the person makes sure you aren’t heard. You get dragged to the balcony and the person blocks the door, preventing you from leaving it. You push the person off of you.

“What the hell?” You yell.

“Shhhh!” Luhan says. “I have to talk to you before I leave.”

“Well what is it then! You could’ve done in a better manner!” You complain. “What do you want now?”

“I’m sorry. I know you want me gone, but… I’m sorry. I know what I did was wrong and I can’t do anything to make up for it. But I want you to know that I love you. I LOVE YOU. And I would give anything to take back that day. But I don’t know what I can offer you to make up for it, other than doing as you wish and leaving. And I know you didn’t want to see me before I leave but… (tears falling down from his face) I can’t live without you.” Luhan says.

He gets down on his knees and does a formal bow. He then gets up and hugs you.

“I’m so sorry.” He says. “I hope sooner or later we will meet again and I can… and I can be able to have you in my life again.”

You don’t hug him back. Your eyes are watery. You push him away and go inside the dorm. You didn’t want him to see you cry. You lock yourself in the bathroom and put your back to the door, inching your way down. And slowly, you cry yourself to sleep. In the bathroom.

You wake up to the pounding of the door.

“Eunsoo-ah!” Kyungsoo says.

You don’t open the door, you just lay on the rug.

“Open the door! Please tell me your okay? Open the door!” Kyungsoo pounds once again.

“Go away.” You say. “I want to be alone.”

“Can’t we just talk about this together?” Kyungsoo says, weakly.

You sigh and open the door. Kyungsoo immediately hugs you, pushing you gently backwards deeper into the bathroom. You bury your faces into each others shoulders.

"I can't believe he did something like that to you. I can't even imagine it. I don't want to. You must feel... An unexplainable feeling right now." Kyungsoo mumbles, face still resting on your shoulder and you the same.

You just nod, not know what to reply back.

“I’m going to wash up. Just… we’ll talk after.” You say, letting go.

Kyungsoo cups your face and kisses your forehead. With that, he leaves and you take a shower. Once finished, you change and meet up with everyone. The atmosphere is different. Everyone shows sympathy towards you.

“Yeowang.” Xiumin puts his arm around your shoulder.

You push it off really fast and afraid. Everyone is shocked by your sudden movement.

“Wh-what’s wrong?” Xiumin blinks.

“I’m fine, just I don’t need sympathy right now, sorry. I’m going to eat.” You say, heart beating fast.

You go into the kitchen alone and Kai quickly joins you.

“Why is she acting like that?” Sehun asks.

“I guess she’s just cautious now because of…” Lay says. “But we shouldn’t talk about it, let’s just forget it ever happened.”

“Let’s go join her.” Kyungsoo says going first and everyone follows.

Days past and you become less cautious. You re-record the EXODUS album without Luhan’s voice. Articles are out comparing or regarding the relationship between Luhan’s leave and the episode you and EXO guest were starring in (celebrity dating js). The pathcode teasers come out.

5 pm

Tao is practicing his martial arts and you are spotting him. You went to a special gym outside of the company. Tao keeps on messing up. He falls on his back.

“Hey! Tao~” You say running to his aid. “Your putting too much pressure on yourself, your stiff, just relax.”

He sighs.

“These days I can’t focus anymore.” Tao says, laying on the floor. “With Luhan and… Kris gone it just bothers me. Exo isn’t the same without them. I’m not the same without him.”

“This isn’t about Luhan is it?” You raise your eyebrow.

Tao covers his face and turns to the side, facing away from you. You sigh and rub his shoulders.

“I miss him.” Tao admits. “I regret making Kris leave. He was the trigger and I pulled it… and now he’s gone.”

“Shhh… You have us okay? I know it’s not the same without them, but everyone has their reasons. And if they were to come back right now, things would still be different. C’mon, let’s do it right this time. Just be careful.” You say.

Tao gets up and practices the overdose flip he does in the end, messing up a few times.

You sigh. He’s not focusing because his mind is all bundled around Kris.

9 pm

You and the boys go to S.M.’s exercising room and work out. You were growing a light 4 pack, which is unusual for girls in the kpop career. Xiumin does the most exercises, he already had his 6 pack.

Tao was lifting weights when suddenly he imbalances and drops one on his foot.

“OOWWW!” Tao cries and everyone stops and looks at him.

He’s balled up, hands on his foot. You are the first to run to him and the others follow.

“Yah! I told you to be careful! You aren’t focusing these days.” You say.

“Don’t tell me your having problems and not confronting us with them.” Suho frowns.

Manager Oppa comes with men who check up on Tao.

“Tao-shi, you have to be more careful. Your foot is sprained. We’re going to allow you to perform on stage, but you have to be extremely cautious dancing. One wrong move and your out.” Manager Oppa says.

You and the boys sit around him once they leave.

“I’m sorry guys.” Tao says. “But I miss Kris. To be honest I couldn’t focus on anything since the day he left. I guess it’s just getting worse now.”

“I’m glad you told us about this. We’ll help you recover and get out of this stage. For now, let’s all stop and go back to the dorm.” Kyungsoo suggests.

Tao is sent to the hospital for further review on his injuries.

At the dorm, you and Chanyeol make soup for everyone. It was your comeback tonight. The music video is going to be up and online at midnight. Or, “0:00” just like it says on your teaser. While waiting, you and boys cozy up together and watch your drama, “Exo Next Door” which is to air on April 9.

It was 11:59, Manager Oppa has the video set up ready, all you need to do now is click “Upload.”

“Yahhhh!” Everyone yells in happiness and celebration.

“It’s been three years since we debuted, and in these three years, so much has happened. I’m so proud of everyone!” Suho says.

“It’s too bad Tao left a while ago to the hospital. We couldn’t do this with him.” Lay pouts.

“I can’t believe he didn’t tell us about anything. It must be hard for him, especially because Kris is gone.” Sehun replies, drinking soup.

“Let’s not talk about it now, let’s do it when all of us is here. C’mon let’s get some rest.” You say.

Call Me Baby is a huge hit. You, and the boys are more famous than ever. Your tour ended months ago. The announcement has been made that you’ll be having another world tour soon, before your comeback Love Me Right.

“TAO!” You scream.

You throw the knife on the floor and get paper towels to wipe the blood away. He goes on his knees with tears in his eyes.

“Cutting yourself isn’t going to do anything!” You scream louder.

The boys come to see the commotion. Immediately, Tao is sent to the hospital, once again. You and the rest go with him.

“Your only making your injuries worse. It doesn’t help you, us or the fans that your making it so hard on yourself. Take it easy. REST sometimes.” Chanyeol says.

“Yah, is it really that hard for you? Can’t you just tell us about everything? Anything?” Suho sighs.

Tao looks at all of you in guilt.

“These days my mind is just elsewhere.” He starts. “I don’t know why, it just, everything’s different now. It’s harder on me… on all of us… especially Eunsoo-ah. You guys don’t see it do you? I’m not doing my best right now. My father… wants me to leave S.M. Entertainment. He doesn’t want me to continue the schedule when I’m injured. This just hasn’t gotten public yet.”

“Would you really leave us? After all we’ve been through? After seeing the other two leave, you want to follow their footsteps? And how do you think we would feel after that?” Baekhyun steps in.

Tao stays silent. You sigh.

“Well just… we perform Overdose in a few days. I know we’ve gone past that era and moved onto Call Me Baby, but S.M. wants us to perform it one last time on a show.” You say. “Cover yourself up correctly. Be safe, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. We’ll see you tomorrow.”

You sit on the bed and run your hands through his hair. You kiss his forehead and get back up. With that everyone leaves.

Somewhere
11pm

Tao asks you to walk with him. You two haven’t spoken since you left the company. He takes you to a restaurant… at 11 pm.

“Why are we going here at this hour?” You raise your eyebrow. “We had dinner with guys already.”

Tao looks at you and sighs. “Well, I’m hungry again, okay? Just at least get a drink.”

You walk into the small, family run restaurant. The waitress was a girl, about 16 years old.

“Oppa! Eunnie! I can’t believe your here right now! Saranghae can you please sign this? Or I
don’t even know, sign my forehead!?” She squeals.

Tao looks at her coldly. “Can you please just take our order?”

Her smile vanishes.

Great, she probably thinks bad of us now. You think.

You clear your throat and sign something of hers. “Sorry about him. He’s not his usual self… it’s a long story. Would you mind getting our food to go?”

You order for Tao and yourself and pay for it. You take him back to the company. You stay at the backdoor of S.M. and eat there. Fans are in the front and you know Tao doesn’t want to go back inside. Tao sits politely as you open up the food.

“Say Ahhh~” You smile.

He looks at you and sighs.

“What now? Your the one who ordered all of this. I even paid for it! So whether you eat it or not, I’m going to.” You say, still holding the spoon out towards him.

He attempts to take a bite, but you move the spoon into your mouth.

“If you want it, feed yourself. You lost your chance Oppa~” You wink.

“Aigoo.” He says and ruffles your hair; He then speaks to you in Chinese. “Thank you for everything… I don’t think I would’ve made it this far if you weren’t here.”

“Anything for my family… You are all pieces of me, mending my life to how I’m living today. If anything happens to any of you, it’s like I’m hurt as well. I’m not complete if they’re gone, hurt, different, changed. But I was never complete since Kris and Luhan left. I don’t want anyone else leaving me…” You reply in Chinese, teary.

“I’ll never leave you. EVER.” Tao says, pulling you close to him, hugging you tightly. “I’ll never hurt you, and I’m sorry for worrying you and the guys. I promise to work better and to heal my injuries faster.”

“I hope so.” You reply literally burying yourself into his warm, kind body.

He lets go of the embrace and kisses your nose. “My Yeowang is definitely precious.”

You laugh and he follows.

Yes, he laughed. I hope things will be back to normal now. You think.

Your last performance.

“Hana, Dul, Se, Saranghaja!”

You get on stage and perform as normal. Smiles and boldness, hiding away all the problems from the fans, the people that love you.

Then it came to the last few verses…

Tao does his flip, not paying attention to where you were standing, like rehearsed.
Usually, everyone would back away for Tao to do his flip, but since it was the last performance, you stood in the front. He is suppose to land next to you, but Tao being Tao, it ends up worse. You are instructed that once Tao lands you look at each other and embrace, so you prepare, but looking to the side.

Tao goes up, spins and kicks you on accident. Right in the eyes. You fall backwards, Tao following you. Both of you land on the floor, off stage, in the front of the stage where the security guards stand. Tao lands on top of you. He gets up and tries to help you from guilt.

The last thing you see is the fans crying, Tao’s body on top of you and the boys running to your aid. Slowly Your vision turns from color to black and white. Then, sooner or later, all you can see is black darkness, just like all of those years.

“I… I CAN’T SEE!” You cry. “KYUNGSOO-AH I CAN’T SEE!”

“EUNSOO-AH!” Kyungsoo and the rest of the boys yell loudly into the mic.

So this is it. You think

If she injures her eyes, she’ll be blind again… Her eyes are still fragile. And we can always do another transplant, but her eye type is so rare, it’s hard to find. And because her eye type is unique, rare and different, the aftermath of the transplant is different from the rest.
