Peace & Quiet
Continuously
But that wasn’t right. I could see the change of daytime to nightime because of the window. But I surely wasn’t going to step outside of this cave — as I started to call it — if it wasn’t for something necessary like food shopping or taking trash out. No. There were people outside.
And I hate people. I don’t need people.
Not again?
A knock on the door. No… I hide my head underneath a pillow and hope it goes away. There’s nobody home, okay? The cave is completely empty. No cavemen or cavewomen around.
“Stop knocking already!!!” I accidentally shout with all the power. It stops. Yeah, it actually did.
But no. I can hear someone muttering behind the door, maybe by himself or then he’s apologizing for disturbing me. How would I know. Sigh..
I get up and walk to the door. I can feel the presence of him. The door creaks.
Calm bitch face is the way.
I notice the white plastic bag in his hands. It’s the same man who came about two hours ago. I know I might seem so lovable but my death glare obviously wasn’t meaning that he could come and go like he was my roommate.
"[Are you very hungry?]“ he lifts the bag and smiles slightly. I grin with the ugliest way I can and start closing the door. But a hand dashes in and stops me.
What is going on with this freaky creep…
"No, no, no. Gwenchanayo!” he steps in vigorously and gets another death glare from me. But he doesn’t even notice it since he’s already in and after taking a quick look inside my empty cave, he sits down and start taking food boxes from the plastic bag.
… How can I escape from him? I massage my forehead.
And as I turn to close the door after him… There suddenly stands another man on the other side of the doorway. Well, you are very very cute. But sorry, I won’t fall for you either. He with his squinting eyes bows at me politely and I almost nod at him back. But just almost.
This new guy sits next to his friend, their backs facing me. I stand still silently at the door. Then the cuter one glances at me shyly with his mouth full of something brown and smushy.
"[Aren’t you going to eat?]“ If I only knew what he asked… What is this? A new kind of inside picnic place? Is there anyone else coming? Did I invate someone?
I push my head through the doorway and look around the corridor. There’s no one. After confirming, I finally close the door and turn to look at the weird men. Sitting on my dirty floor. Eating. Without even knowing a thing about me. Don’t the murderers and other criminals live in dark caves like this?
"I don’t know you. And you don’t know me. But you should run away right now if you want to live a little bit longer.”
