Chapter I - A new year
(Crys tal's POV)
"Happy new year!" Fireworks light up the night sky and cheers from across the world can be heard. A new year. This year I have just one goal, to graduate high school and go to college. For the past few years, i've been doing well in school. I joined the swim team, got straight As, and made close friends, friends that have my back. "What do you want your first meal of the year to be?" Mother asks me. "Korean BBQ?" I reply. She smiles and nods.
I smell it, the wonderful smell of meat. I love meat. Our food arrives and we started to eat. As I was eating, I saw a familiar face. There was a girl who looked so familiar, like I know her. I've never seen her in my neighborhood before. She could be new, but I think I know her? Do I know her?
