~Maru~
“Maru, Maru! Wake up!” Myung Ho frantically calls and I pry my eyes open, my head pounding. Looking around, I’m confused. The last thing I remembered was going to the park near Hana’s old house and we’d been attacked. I was now chained to a pillar. Looking for the others, I see them chained to the pillars to my left. “You’ve finally woken up, thank god. We thought you were dead!” I wince, hearing a shriek. It wasn’t one that someone could hear, it wasn’t a sound wave. I could hear the screaming in my head. “Hana, where is she?” I ask, recognizing her voice. “She came when you were unconscious. BamBam says that there’s a possession demon in her and it’s having a hard time controlling her. He thinks that once the demon lets her have a little control of her body, she can break free momentarily. The demon king is here too, I think they’re going to use her for something.” Jungkook informs and I flinch, hearing Hana scream again. “What’s wrong, where do you hurt?” Yugyeom asks, leaning out from his pillar. “It’s not that I hurt, it’s that I can hear screaming.” “Screaming? There’s nothing like that.” Myung Ho says and the others listen intently. “It’s not just some screaming, its Hana’s screaming.” I try to explain and BamBam nods. “I can hear it too, but it’s not so loud that it hurts.” I lean back against my pillar, it was lucky that we’d brought tracking bugs with us. In an hour or so, the rest of the reapers would get here and we’d annihilate the demons. Maru! Hana screams and I lurch forward, yanking on my chains. “Maru, sit back! It’s not going to help her if we react! They might realize something’s up!” BamBam panics and I reluctantly lean back.
~Hana~
“Maru!” I scream and the possession demon cackles. “It seems you really have acknowledged some important feelings for him. Do you love him?” I refuse to answer, knowing full well that I did. Watching him die over and over again was hurting me. Hurting me far more than seeing the others die. “Hmph, fine, I’ll get it out of you sooner or later.” He materializes Maru in front of me and stare in horror as he starts dissecting him. “Stop, stop!” I shriek, slamming my eyes shut. “Oh no, dear. We’ll not have you close your eyes when the fun is just starting.” My eyes are forced open and tears are streaming down my cheeks. “Why is your body crying when I’m controlling it?” The demon mutters stepping away for a few seconds. “Now, let’s resume!” He grins and I’m sick to my stomach. “Hey, the king says to bring her to dispose of the reapers. He’s sure they’re being tracked but doesn’t know how. He thinks it’ll stop if they die.” “Why doesn’t he have a soldier do away with them?” My possession demon complains and the soldier shrugs. “Maybe he wants to break the girl more? Have her obey him because she killed her friends.” I feel the fear bubble up in me. “No, you won’t. Stop, don’t make me do this!” I panic and the demon shrugs. “Sorry hon, but if it’s the king’s orders, I’ll have you do it.” I’m walked back to the main room and see that Maru’s awake. “Good, now kill them.” The demon king motions to the boys and my demon turns me to look at them. “Who should I start with first? The most important, or the least important?” My demon muses and starts towards Maru. “Stop! Don’t! I love him! I said it, stop!” I scream, frantic. I didn’t want to kill him. I didn’t want his blood on my hands, his eyes on me as he died. I didn’t want another person that I loved to die. “We’ll start with the most important.” My demon cackles and I watch as Maru realizes why I’m walking towards him.
~Maru~
Hana starts walking towards me, a sick smile on her face. It was the possession demon. Hana’s screams were much louder now. As she got closer, she screams Stop! Don’t! I love him! I said it, stop! I stare as her body walks towards me. She unsheathes her scythe and I see it, pitch black. Wasn’t it red the last time I’d seen it? Kneeling down, she raises the dagger and I hold my breath, waiting for the demon to use her to kill me. I watch the blade go down, and instead of going towards me, it curves in, stabbing her stomach. Sitting up, I see her face shift from the smile to an angry face to the demon’s face, instead of smiling, it was angry. “It isn’t possible. No one can break through a possession demons’ chains’ so easily! What are you?!” It growls and I feels the scythe slice the first weak point on demons. “Hana, Hana.” I get the demon’s attention. “I’d rather you kill me, than to become a demon. Kill me instead, will you.” Her face flickers to anger, her anger, not the demon’s anger. “Good try, but she can’t break fr-““Sure I can.” She snarls, cutting off the demon, her strong face back. Bringing the scythe down, it goes straight through her heart and the demon gasps, being pulled out of her body. “This isn’t possible. How-“He dissipates and Hana falls forward. Tears streaming down my cheeks, I drag her to me. She quickly breaks my chains as I’m hugging her. “What is this, didn’t I tell you to kill them!” Hana’s head snaps around to look at a man. His aura was so dark that I just knew, he was the demon king. “Omo, you killed him, did you? I quite liked that demon. Oh well, finish her off.” He orders a man standing next to him and he lurches forward, pointing his knife straight at us. Hana’s frozen and so fast that we didn’t have time to react, someone runs in front of the man with the knife and the person grunts, the knife protruding from their back. They fall to the ground and Hana’s the first one to recognize him. “Appa!”
