Why Is Your Love So Cold?

“Rian! I’m leaving soon, come quickly I need to talk to you,” Yeeun yells from somewhere in the house, causing me to regain my normal facial expression. I swiftly make my way towards the kitchen, avoiding tripping over her suitcase and small bags. “Hey,” she calmly says, “before I leave, you needed to speak to me,”
“Ah, yes, well I was meaning to mention this to you, on the day it happened but I didn’t think it was an issue at the time, but it became one,” I paused to look at Yeeun’s slight confusion on her face, “I was followed again, and I think it was by the same person. I started to get really paranoid and stressed but I couldn’t admit to it myself let alone telling anyone else. That was why I didn’t want you to leave, that would mean that I would be by myself and I was scared, but I’m okay now I talked about it and I feel better,” I add with a bit of cheerfulness in my tone.
“I’m so sorry I didn’t realise how panicky you were acting two days ago, that was why. I’m so horrible for not asking if you were okay,” Yeeun adds with a slight sadness.
“No, no. It’s not your fault, I should’ve talked to you but I was confused about it myself and I was in denial,” I reassure her. Signs of relief shower her face.
“Who did you talk to?” She asked.
“I, er kind of touched the subject with Jackson but I mostly talked about it with Mark, after that I felt better, since he walked me home,” I initially reply with hesitation, but end it with a smile.
“That’s good I guess, I hope they aren’t taking my role of being an older sister from me, otherwise I would be sad… and a little worried,” she chuckles. Her phone buzzes, she quickly looks at it before resuming the conversation, “I’m leaving in 5 minutes,” She quietly states, “I’ll make this quick. Don’t forget to lock all the doors and windows when you leave the house and when you go to sleep, you’ll feel safe. Don’t forget or lose your keys I only have the second set,”
“Yeah, I know all of this already,”
“1 More, you can have friends over but no parties and…no BOYS,” She replies with a smirk. I suspiciously raised my eyebrow, “I saw you two earlier… kissing, TWICE,” She bursts into laughter. My face begins to heat up, “H-how?” I begin to stutter.
“I saw from the window, I was expecting you to come in, when you walked pass but you took a while so I went to spy through the window and I saw you lean in a little two close. I had to stop it so I opened the door. I couldn’t trust you two so I spied again and you kissed AGAIN,” She continues her outburst of laughter. This is so embarrassing, “It’s alright, it was so cute, I could tell he liked you from day 1,”
“Ah, stop it, just because we kissed today doesn’t mean something good will come out it tomorrow. It’s going to be awkward I won’t be able to look at him in the eyes, and if I do I’m just going to avoid him or do something weird,” I stop her, she sniggers at my remark, “don’t say things like that as well, it might not be true,”
“Okay, if you say so,” she replies in a sarcastic voice. A car horn is heard from outside, “well that’s probably my manager,” she makes her way towards the front door, I closely follow behind. We give each other a tight hug before she enters the car, “I’ll miss you,” She says after rolling down the window, “Me too. Have fun and stay safe I tell her,”
“I will. You should stay safe and good luck preparing for your debut. Don’t be scared about the ‘issue’. Good luck for tomorrow and remember no parties and no boys,”
“That won’t be happening and you know it- and who would I invite to a party?”
“The boys?” she replies. I just laugh while nodding. She got me on that one.
“Okay. Bye!” the car slowly drives off. I sadly wave and return inside the house. I make sure to lock and close all doors windows and curtains, before preparing for bed.
