I stumbled backwards as Park Heung-Joo steps forward, a group of circus workers standing behind him. "You didn't think I'd actually let them take away my main attraction like that, did you?" He sneers and I WolfSpeak Hide! Right now! I could hear them trying to ask me what was wrong, but they slowly agreed and I sensed them hide around the first floor. I glance at the door, thinking that if I moved fast enough, I could lead him off. "Don't even think that we didn't come without something to keep you from running away." Heung-Joo laughs and I glance at the guns in the workers' hands, realizing they had tranquilizer bullets. In a flash, I'm at the window and Luhan, Kris and Tao all yellWe're on the twelfth floor! Don't jump! I glanced at the boys who were all watching what was happening from my bedroom. Heung-Joo jauntily holds up my shock collar and I flinch, remembering how much pain that thing had given me. "You can always come back of your own accord, maybe then you won't get hurt." "Um, how about a no." I open the window, kicking the screen out and I sense every one of the boys about to get up. Don't. Even. Think. About. It! I bark with enough strength that they all backed off like sad puppies. "Well that's too bad. Let the Wolf Hunt begin." Heung-Joo announces and the workers point their guns at me. Slipping out of the window, I free fall a couple of stories and grab onto a balcony, hiding underneath it. "Where is she? She can't have disappeared! FIND HER!" Heung-Joo is shouting and I wonder how I'd ever thought of him as a father. Leaping down the balconies, I change into my wolf form and run into the woods, knowing that the men were hot on my trail. I could hear all twelve of Exo yelling and screaming in WolfSpeak. SHUT THE HELL UP! I yell back at them and it becomes silent as I race through the forest, looking for somewhere to hide. Something flashes in my vision and I'm watching an old man speak to me, almost like a vision. "My little wolf, I have a lesson to teach you." He leans forward and smiles, ruffling my hair. "Sometimes the enemy is too intent on the thing right in front of them, that they don't look at the things to their left, right, below them or above them. If that is the case, you can always use it as an advantage. I hope you won't have to use this one day, but if you are ever in danger, think about that I said." He leans back and the vision disappears. I could hear Heung-Joo getting close and I look around me, at my feet and at the sky. Above me. Trees. Hastily, I climb up high enough that they won't be able to see my wolf form even if they tried. I watch men run around underneath me and am waiting, scared as they keep running around the forest. Finally, they gave up and Heun-Joo kicks a tree to my right, but holds his foot right after. I close my eyes and hear them all get into a car, driving off. Making sure that all of them had gone, I slowly climb down the tree and make my way back to my apartment, changing back into my human form as I enter the building. As the elevator closes, I collapse to my knees, wondering what that vision was from. I'd never seen that old man, and how did he know I was a wolf. I searched through my memories at the circus and pause, remembering the last time we'd come to Korea, when I was sixteen. The old man had been sitting in the back shadows, although I could see him clearly, I thought he was familiar. That night, I'd hear weird whispers during the show. They'd told me about how I shouldn't be doing this for a man that wasn't giving me any profit, and that I was meant for something much greater. I'd found them strange, but ignored them all the same. The elevator dings and I look up to find Luhan, Kris and Tao standing there with angry faces. Two of them come forward and put my arms around their necks, lifting me up as I realize that I'd lost all strength in my legs. They bring me into my apartment and put me on the couch as everyone crowds around. "For a second, I couldn't feel your presence at all," Chanyeol shakes his head, all of us knowing full well that being a wolf, you could sense if other wolves were around and where. Even if we tried to hide it in wolf form, we couldn't. "That's not normal, because even if you were close to dying, we would've felt you." Baekhyun sits in front of me and I hold my head, I was getting a headache. "Can you guys go home for today? I'd like to go to sleep." They all nod except for the three pissed off people standing behind the couch. "We'll sleep here," Luhan mutters and Tao agrees. The rest of the guys leave and I'm stuck with these three angry wolves. "How did he know you lived here?" Kris mutters and Luhan adds "He's got some fucking nerve." Tao stands in front of me and stares straight into my eyes, "And why couldn't we sense you?" Great, explaining is fun.
