Broken Hearts and Crystal Tears

The next morning, Minnie was the first one up at 6:30 am. She was wide awake immediately, nearly bursting from happiness with the thought of Exo’s presence being so close.

She sat in her bed for a few more minutes, before snapping out of her daydream. She shook Summer’s shoulder.

Summer slowly opened her eyes, then suddenly sat up straight, a look of eagerness on her face.

The two woke up the other 3 members, who they quickly became friends with. Everyone was surrounded by enthusiasm of the first day of training.

~in Exo’s dorms~
The twelve members were all awake, sitting around the dining table eating breakfast made by D.O.

“Manager hyung said that we have to meet in practice room 12 at 7:30 am. Today our schedule will be slightly different. We will be helping SUGAR learn and practice their first song at about 10:00,” Suho told the members.

“Those girls will definitely be the next hot group when they debut,” Kris said.

“Especially with their looks.” Kai and Sehun said at the same time, making the other members laugh at their immaturity.

~8:30 am~
SUGAR’s five members were all practicing their new song, and all of them were frustrated that they couldn’t get many of the notes right. Young-min watched from the corner, and took notes down to show Exo what SUGAR had to work on. At exactly 10:00 am, Exo arrived at practice room 12. Sweaty and exhausted, SUGAR still looked pretty hot. Well, mostly for the maknaes.
When Exo walked in, Minnie’s eyes immediately went to Kai, and Summer’s to Sehun. Then, they quickly looked away, trying hard to stay calm.

“Could you sing your song for us?” Xiumin asked.

The 5 girls nodded, and they closed their eyes and sang to the best of their abilities. The presence of Exo must have made them more confident, and that time was the best out of all the attempts.

There were a few mistakes, which the main singers in Exo corrected. SUGAR accepted each and every one of of Exo’s points, making sure to listen carefully.

During the other member’s turns to sing, Summer snuck glances at Sehun. She loved the way his eyes curved into perfect crescents when he smiled. She loved the way his hair was a little bit messy, but was still cute. She loved the way he gave his full attention the the person who was singing. She loved the way he whispered to Luhan (Hunhan reference!) when a perfect note was hit. She loved the way he sent a smile full of confidence towards her when she was about to sing. And most of all, she loved the way he sat there, being perfect in every way possible.

Meanwhile, Minnie kept her eyes away from Kai. She looked at the other members, but not at him. The last thing she wanted was for Kai to know that she had the biggest crush on him. She could only imagine him, sitting only a few feet away from her. She loved how he was almost bipolar, sometimes laughing cheerfully, and sometimes being mysterious and silent. His charisma on stage leaved her either screaming at the top of her lungs, or making her speechless. Offstage, he was just so cute and gentle.

“Summer! Summer!!!” Summer snapped out of her daze. “What?”

“Wae~ Someone’s not paying attention!” Lay said.

Summer flushed. “So um, what should I do again?”

“Sing your part when you first come in,” Lay reminded her.

Summer leaned in towards the microphone, and her clear and clean voice hit all the notes perfectly.

Exo cheered when she finished, making her blush even harder.

“Ok, Tae, you’re next!” Suho said in his leader voice.

Tae took a deep breath and sang, but her voice came out cracky and rough. Kai and Sehun both giggled at the same time, but both stopped when they saw Young-min glaring at them.
Minnie and Summer both glanced at Kai and Sehun at the same time, and found both boys equally staring back at them.

Minnie and Summer, again, quickly looked away blushed at the same time and caught themselves right at their parts.

After a few more hours of singing, it was time for lunch.

Summer and Minnie volunteered to get food, not knowing that Kai and Sehun were both on pick-up-food duty.

Right when they were about to go out the door, Summer felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and Sehun’s face was inches from her’s. “Hey,” he said in a sexy voice. “Oh, hey!” Summer hoped she wasn’t sounding too excited, and cleared her voice. Meanwhile, Kai was just staring at Minne like an idiot, and Minnie was staring back straight into his eyes.
A cough interrupted them. “WAE~ Are you four leaving yet?!?!” Suho shouted at them. All four of them shouted, “WE’RE LEAVING!” at the same time, receiving yet another round of giggles from the members inside.

As they arrived at the restaurant, there was already several fans waiting outside. When they saw Summer and Minnie walking with Exo, shouts of rage could be heard. The clicking of cameras surrounded them. Kai and Sehun put a protective arm around the girls, and Minnie bit her lip, her eyes widening. She and Summer exchanged eye contact, giggled, and continued walking.

Sehun demanded to go buy bubble tea first, so they went to the bubble tea shop, with fans pushing their faces to the windows to get a better view of the two celebrities and their companions.

Sehun bought of course, 4 chocolate bubble teas, and 13 more vanilla bubble teas for their other members.

Then, they headed to the restaurant next door and bought 17 jjajangmyun. Kai and Sehun once again put their arms around Summer and Minnie, waving at the fans and ignoring their mean comments.

Both Summer and Minnie felt safe and happy in their crushes’ arms, and wanted to stay in that moment forever and ever. They weren’t threatened by the fans’ angry shouts when they had Kai and Sehun right next to them.

After lunch was dance practice. 7 of the Exo members needed to leave to practice their own songs, leaving the members that were good at dancing. Xiumin, Luhan, Kai, Sehun, and Lay each paired up with one of the SUGAR members to practice learning moves.
Kai was paired up with Minnie, Sehun with Summer, Lay with Tae, Luhan with Yoomi, and Xiumin with Hailey.

Minnie was very nervous. She knew she was the main dancer, which meant that people could point her out easily if she messed up. Especially with Kai watching her every move.
During her part where she was dancing her solo, Minnie made a few mistakes, suddenly forgetting her dance for about one second, then quickly remembering her moves. She was so embarrassed, but luckily none of the Exo members laughed at her mistake. Instead, they gave her constructive criticism, which she applied to her dance.

Minnie tried the dance again, getting every move flawless except for one move. Xiumin shouted, “Wae~ Kai you’re her partner, help her!” Minnie blushed and stood there for a while, not knowing what to do.

Kai stood up slowly, and put his arms behind her waist. Minnie could hear Summer giggling quietly in the corner, and tried not to smile. Kai helped her through the move, until Minnie got the move perfectly. Lay said, “Ok, she got it, let’s see her try it again.” Kai let go of Minnie, but his hand brushed her hip again as he left. Minnie couldn’t concentrate after that, and faked a stomachache, and went to the bathroom to daydream.

If only she knew who else was going to the bathroom…
