Finding You & Me

The next day came [December 18th, Thursday]. That morning, Adaleina woke up. Before heading out to work, Adaleina checked her email and saw an email from Caroline. She clicked the link and it showed the design that Caroline was working on for the new HBA design clothing. It looked amazing and Adaleina sent a text message to Caroline thanking her for the design and using it. Adaleina transferred the design onto a usb and headed to work right away. When Adaleina was walking to her office, her assistant Tammy came towards her telling her what she has to do today for work.

Adaleina (*walks to her office)
Tammy (*walks next to Addy saying) : Good morning Adaleina.
Adaleina : good morning Tammy. What’s our schedule today ?
Tammy : you have a meeting with the design team and merchandise owners.
Adaleina : what time ?
Tammy : at 11 this morning.
Tammy : and you have to go to the HBA store to do the weekly inspection.
Adaleina : Got it.
Tammy : the meeting is changed to the grand room just in case you didn’t get the notice.
Adaleina : why was it changed ?
Tammy : it was changed last minute because there is more people this time for the meeting.
Tammy : important people are here today to speak to you about expansion.
Adaleina : i’ll definitely look into it. thanks Tammy.
Tammy (*smiles & says) : no problem.
Adaleina : oh right, i forgot to tell you.
Tammy (*looks at Addy confusingly)
Adaleina : Check for a space in Las Vegas big enough for the HBA store.
Adaleina : I just need an address and contact the person who is in charge of the lease.
Adaleina : get back to me as soon as possible on that.
Adaleina : If your free, check on a space in Seoul Korea as well.
Adaleina : i need it as soon as possible if there is one.
Tammy (*nods her head & says) : i understand.
Adaleina : last thing, i’m going to be out of town for two weeks with my best friends.
Adaleina : i’m leaving in three days.
Adaleina : i’m counting on you to look over the company for me when i’m gone.
Tammy : thats wonderful that you're vacationing with your girls.
Tammy : you deserve it more than anything.
Adaleina : have everyone take Christmas eve, Christmas Day, and the day after Christmas off.
Adaleina : also, take New Years eve, New Years Day, and the day after New Years off too.
Adaleina : tell everyone about it.
Adaleina : you go out and have fun. take a break for once, okay ?
Adaleina : i know how much you wanted to go back home and spend time with your family.
Adaleina : you should, i want you to.
Tammy : i know, thank you Adaleina.

They arrived at Adaleina’s office and she took off her jacket putting it on her chair. Then Adaleina told Tammy the good news.

Adaleina (*smiles as she puts her jacket behind her chair)
Tammy (*looks at Adaleina & says) : good news ?
Adaleina : Caroline sent over her designs for HBA and it looked amazing.
Tammy : she didn’t mind giving you her own designs ?
Adaleina : she wanted me to use them so she could get recognized for it.
Tammy : How are her other designs coming along?
Adaleina : they are fantastic. she is very talented.
Tammy : So how was your date with Alex last night ?
Adaleina : we ended it well.
Tammy : you broke up with him ? why ?
Adaleina : his job offered him a job in New York and he wants me to go with him.
Adaleina : let me ask you, would you go with him if you have a job here ?
Tammy : not exactly.
Adaleina : thats what i said. he told me to choose between him and New York or myself.
Tammy : and you said yourself ?
Adaleina : of course. i cant leave HBA just like that. it barely started to grow.
Tammy : did he apologize for telling you that ?
Adaleina : not at all.
Adaleina : we should go to the meeting now.

Adaleina grab her materials and walked to the meeting room with Tammy. The technicians set up the room and Adaleina set up her laptop into the projector. People started to come into the room and the meeting started at 11am sharp.

Adaleina : one of my best friends had sent in her designs for the next HBA line.
Adaleina (*clicks the laptop to show the designs from the usb)
Adaleina : all we need to do is create this onto the clothing.
Adaleina : i want to finish everything the week after New Years.
Adaleina : that means ready to package and shipped out to the cutomers.
Adaleina : you all know what to do so lets get to work.
Adaleina : Lets have the sale team have a pre-sale event.
Adaleina : lets make it last for 2 weeks.
Adaleina : Customers can order it ahead of time and then receive it after the deadline is over.
Adaleina : this means that the shipping team has to be on time with the shipment.
Adaleina : for the pre-sales, i want to add in a free merchandise for those who order.
Adaleina : it can be anything that is in stock, i'll leave that up to the team to figure out.
Adaleina : just pick at random from the stock room.
Adaleina : im thinking of expanding the HBA store all across the world.
Adaleina : we are looking at Las Vegas and Korea at the moment.
Adaleina : if we find a lease and space in the cities then we will open one.
Adaleina : our team will be looking into it very soon.
Adaleina : also, this is something ive been thinking about for some time now.
Adaleina : and i really want to have a sister company for HBA.
Adaleina : which means the clothing line is targeted for womens.
Adaleina : If the pre-sales are a success then we will look into creating the sister company.
Adaleina : Last thing, i want everyone in this company to take the holidays off.
Adaleina : Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the day after Christmas.
Adaleina : also, New Years Eve, New Years Day, and the day after New Years.
Adaleina : that means that you shouldnt party too hard and get back to work afterwards.
Adaleina : have a fresh mind for the new year when you come back.
Adaleina : i expect everyone to comeback and have a new idea for New Years.
Adaleina : Lastly, im going to be out of town for the holidays for 2 weeks.
Adaleina : in case of an emergency, im always on my cell at all times so call.
Adaleina : that is if there is an SOS with the company. other than that, meeting dismissed.

Everyone had left back to their jobs at the office. Adaleina was still in the meeting room to speak to the people who she is working with on the store expansion.

Penny (*shakes Adaleina's hand & says) : its nice to finally meet you, Im Penny.
Adaleina (*shakes Penny's hand & says) : its nice to meet you too.
Penny : i love what you have done with the company.
Penny : i stopped by the HBA store the other day, you seem like you know what your doing.
Adaleina : well, i try to do my best in what i do for the company.
Penny : About the expansion in Las Vegas, do you have any place in mind ?
Adaleina : i saw a lease space available in the shopping mall of Planet Hollywood.
Adaleina : im not quite sure if the lease is still there.
Penny : have you contacted the owner ?
Adaleina : i have talked to his assistant and she said the owner is out of town until next year.
Penny : thats a bummer. i'll definitely look into it for you, for the sake of the company.
Penny : i appreciate what your trying to do for the expansion.
Penny : im seeing a bright future for HBA later on and im proud of what you did.
Adaleina : like i said, i try my best.
Penny : well, lets get to work. right ?
Adaleina (*smiles & says) : right. thank you for stopping by.
Penny : anytime.

Penny left while Adaleina went back to her office to answer some emails on her computer. While Adaleina was doing that, she looked down onto her desk and stared at the ring on her right ring finger. It was her mother's ring that was pass down from her mother when she was younger. It made Adaleina thought about her mother who passed away with her father in an accident years ago. Then she got a phone call from Caroline.

Adaleina (*cellphone rings & picks up) : Hello ?
Caroline : Addy ?
Adaleina : yeah, whats up ?
Caroline : Kris and Aria were wondering if you wanted to have lunch together.
Adaleina : sure, i would love to. what time ?
Caroline : At 1pm.
Adaleina : yeah, i can. at the usual right ?
Caroline : you got it.
Adaleina : alright, i'll see you guys there.
Caroline : okay, bye.
