Noah reached her apartment and saw an old man standing outside of her apartment, knocking the door gently. He was wearing a suit and looked like a wealthy gentleman.
“Anyahaseo… What do you want?” Noah asked politely.
“Who are you?” The man asked.
“I live here.” She pointed towards her place.
“I am the owner of these apartments, Woo Kangmin.” He introduced himself. “I allotted this apartment to Dr. Jessica.”
“Yes… she is my unnie.”
“But I heard she is the only daughter of Dr. Jung Minsook….”
“Dr. Jung Minsook adopted me. They are living in their own house, here in Seoul.”
“Oh really? Then why is her dongsaeng living here alone?” He inclined a bit.
Noah became nervous and licked her lips. “uh… I wanted to live on my own here.”
“Hmm good then.”
“Please come inside.”
“No… I just wanted to check it out. So, is she married?”
“Unnie? Anii….”
“And any boyfriend?”
“I- I don’t know about that…. I never talked to her about this.” She bit her lip in anxiety.
“Oh well…” He sighed. “She’s such a hot sight.” He whispered. “Inform me, if she ever comes here.”
“I will…” Noah bowed.
He left and Noah opened the door. She entered the small living room.
“Huh… this is pathetic life. I cannot live with my family, because it’s too risky to have me. And unnie would never enter this house. Why would she? She deserves a healthy life unlike me.” She sat on the couch. “I should be just kicked out of people’s lives.” She mourned.
Her cell phone rang.
“Yoboseo?”
“You need to come to the hospital, Noah. It’s time for your check-up. You should be more cautious, since you are interacting with people now.” Jessica rebuked her angrily.
“I am sorry. I’ll be there in a minute.”
“Fine.” Jessica hung up.
“Omo… I should really rush….” She got up. She looked at the cell phone and got worried after seeing the messages from Byunghun as well as his calls. She felt sorry.
At the Hospital
“Wow… I think coming to Seoul turned out to be beneficial for you. The atmosphere here suits you more.” Jessica said.
Noah smiled. She was happy to hear that.
“Here, I bought you another CD. This time it’s a Korean movie.” She handed the CD.
Noah looked at it with excitement. “Gamsahabnida.” She bowed.
“I paid your rent today.”
“Oh…”
“Umm unnie?”
“Hm?”
“Are you dating someone?”
“Ne??? why are you asking this?”
“The owner of the apartment asked me.”
“Oh that… Beware of him. He’s not a good guy. OK?”
Noah nodded.
“You can go now.”
“Pay my regards to ahjumma.”
“Sure.” Jessica passed a faint smile.

Next day
“Hey kawai.” Kevin sat beside her.
“Its Kwon… not Kawai.” She said while looking at him. They were in the cafeteria. Kevin’s friend also sat on the seat in front of her. She felt uneasy.
“I know dear… in Korea we call girl kawai… like you use mam or miss… just like that.” Kevin explained.
His friend looked at him with an awkward expression.
“Jinja?” Noah asked.
“Do you think I lie?”
“Ani…” she muttered.
“So she’s your new friend, Kevin?” His friend asked.
“Yeah she is…. Meet my friend Hyunwoo.”
She bowed to Hyunwoo.
“So, how was your day Kawai?” Kevin asked. Hyunwoo accidently giggled at the word kawai. “What’s wrong?” Kevin glared.
“Ah.. nothing…” Hyunwoo replied.
“Nothing special…” Noah said.
“Well I always spend my life like its my last day to have fun… so, I have lots of fun everyday.” Kevin explained.
“Oye Hyunwoo, you know that girl I told you about yesterday?”
“Yeah? What about her?” Hyunwoo asked.
Noah also got interested in what he was going to say.
“Yeah… she kissed Dongwook!”
“Really? Poor Dongwook!” Hyunwoo burst in laughter. “She is so ugly!”
“Hahahah yeah…” Suddenly his eyes moved towards astonished Noah. “What’s the matter?” Kevin asked Noah.
“Uh… they kissed?” She asked while squinting her eyes.
“Yeah…. Is there something wrong about it? Do you know Dongwook?”
“Ani…”
“Then?”
“uh they really kissed?” She asked and pointed towards her lips.
“Yeah, she kissed him on lips. Why are you so surprised ?”
“But, kiss takes place only in movies…” She whispered to herself. “How can they transfer germs?” She murmured.
Kevin heard her low voice and stared at her. He texted Hyunwoo what she just said. After reading the text he again laughed out loud.
“I think you’re not feeling well todAy, Hyunwoo!!" He said. "Man … what a jerk.” He whispered to himself.
Noah was in shock. “I should leave for the class.”
“Lets go to….” Kevin said but she already left. Kevin turned his face to Hyunwoo and both started laughing.
“Where did you find this piece?” Hyunwoo asked.
“Didn’t I tell you, I’ll present you an interesting sh** today…”
“Ah, she really is interesting.”
“Gotta go now buddy…” Kevin got up.
“Hey Kevin.” A girl waved.
“Who’s she now?”
“Ah… she used to be my highschool classmate. Bye.” Kevin said and left the place.
Noah entered the class and saw Byunghun sitting on his seat, listening music on his ipod.
Byunghun made an eye contact with her and signaled her to sit beside him. She took slow steps and reached the seat. She glanced at him while sitting.
“Noah?” He called her without looking at her.
“Ne?” She replied while avoiding his presence next to her.
Byunghun lost the words he practiced about several times. “Uh… lets meet somewhere, outside the university.”
“Um…” She approved. She looked at the door, but Kevin didn’t come. “I think he skipped.” She thought.
“Have you decided your study group?” Byunghun asked while hesitating.
“Um…” She nodded.
“Oh… OK.” He sighed. “I wish you were in my study group.”
“Hey Noah…” Tia stood beside her seat. Noah looked at her and stood up. “Annyahaseo.” She bowed.
“We’ll start our work tomorrow. We have 3 days left before submitting the assignment. And you Byunghun?” She pointed at him. “You too… Ask your friend to come and we’ll discuss about our work.” She said.
Noah looked at Byunghun. “We’re in the same group.” She thought and smiled unintentionally.
He smiled back and she moved her face away from his sight.
He felt embarrassed.
Tia left and took her seat.
“Hey Noah… I’ll text you our meeting place, after this assignment ends.”
“S-sure.”
“If I call you, will you talk to me?”
“Um…” She nodded while blushing.
He smiled. “It is working.”
“So his real name is Byunhyung? Or Byunhung?” Noah forgot the name just after hearing it.
All of their classes ended and she came out of the class. “I am eager to work with him.” She said to herself.
She started walking in the corridor to reach the stairs and go down the floor. All at once, she heard some smashing sound from a corner. With careful steps, she followed the way, the sound came from. She gulped.
She saw a boy and a girl kissing each other. She could see the boy’s back. She saw a broken glass box on the floor. Her eyes again moved towards the boy and the girl. She closed her fist and her eyes bulged out. She took a few soundless steps sideways to see the kiss. To her surprise, the boy was none other than the kawai boy. She couldn’t move her eyes from the scene. Kevin slipped his tongue into the girl’s mouth and kissed her more intensely.
Noah accidently let out a faint shriek and covered her mouth. Kevin stopped and turned his face towards Noah. Kevin blinked his eyes and glared at her. The girl also frowned at her.
“What are you doing here, girl?” The girl asked angrily.
Noah’s legs started trembling and she ran away.
“Huh… freaks… These kind of girls can just watch people kissing, but can never do one by themselves.” The girl said and leaned over Kevin.
“Wait…” Kevin said. “I am feeling a bit dizzy. I’ll meet up with you later."
“But….”
Kevin left without listening to her.
