Cherries and Chocolates

Byunghun, Eli and Kevin entered the same High school. Kevin rebelled against his father over this and won.
Kevin’s old class mates stopped them in their way to their home.
“Looks like Kevin goes to this school for the poor kids.” One of them teased.
“Lets go…” Eli said and went ahead without Byunghun and Kevin.
“Lets go Kevin…” Byunghun grabbed his hand. “And you guys can shut up.”
“Oh look… the boyfriend got angry… don’t tease his girlfriend.” Another one said.
“OK… That’s it…..” Byunghun punched at his face with full force that his nose bled.
“You bastard! HOW DARE YOU!!” He cried and another boy grabbed Byunghun’s collar and slapped him.
“Don’t touch him!” Kevin grabbed the boy from behind. Other boys pulled Kevin back and kicked him.
“Serves you right…..”
Kevin got up and pushed the one who kicked him.
As Eli turned back… both were being beaten. “Ah those pabos…..” He ran back and apologized to the boys. The boys left.
“WHY DID YOU APOLOGIZE!!!!!!!” Byunghun yelled and grabbed his collar.
Eli pushed his hands away. “Because they were 7… do you want to break all of your bones?” He said and looked at Kevin. “What really needs to change is this guy…..” He pointed his finger towards Kevin. Kevin looked back at him with innocent look and dirty face. “Yeah…. You…..”
“He’s alright…. We are not gonna change for other people!” Byunghun said with anger.
“I am not talking to you…..” Eli replied to him.
“I’ll change myself…. I am fed up of it.” Kevin said.
“Good then…. Come with me…” Eli said to Kevin. “You go home, Byunghun.”
Byunghun glared at him and left.
“Ok Kevin….you need to change your appearance, you need to work out to make some good body and lastly … you need to change your attitude that’s a bit girly. And stop with the chocolate obsession. It is just too girly!”
Kevin looked down.
“If you wont change…. Your highschool life will also end up being bullied… plus you won’t get girl.”
“I understand.” Kevin replied.

After the struggle of 3 months, Kevin managed to change his appearance and worked hard to get a good body. He grew out is hair above the shoulder level. He also somewhat changed his attitude. He became more open and loud. Nobody even tried to bully him. Even the previous boys never showed up. However, the negative effect that this change had was that he couldn’t manage his time to spend with Byunghun. He was aware of the fact that he was being distant towards Byunghun and Byunghun felt that too. He became lonely, gloomy and quiet.

Kevin and Byunghun were having their usual artificial conversation which they often did to keep their relationship alive.
“Hey guys…” Eli entered the scene along with his new girlfriend.
“Annyahaseo….” His girlfriend bowed a bit and then secured her hair behind her ears with her fingers.
Kevin looked at the girl.
“Oh let me introduce her. She’s Seolhi, my gf.” Eli explained.
“Oh…. Hi Seolhi… we are Eli’s friends.”Kevin said and she smiled.
“Eli told me about you guys.” She had a very sweet voice.
Byunghun didn’t pay much attention towards her.
“Sorry guys I gotta go now…” Byunghun left.
Kevin got a call from his new friend, Hyunwoo so he left as well.

As days passed by, Kevin indulged in indecent activities due to his friend Hyunwoo and Eli became absorbed in is girlfriend, leaving Byunghun alone. One day, Byunghun was having his lunch alone when he saw Eli talking slow walks in the school ground. Byunghun finished his lunch and went to him.
“Eli…. Where’s Seolhi?” Byunghun asked him.
“Seolhi?” He looked at Byunghun and smiled. “She left.”
“Where to?” Byunghun asked.
Eli grabbed his collar.
“What???” Byunghun asked while being startled.
“She left with that DAMN KEVIN!!!! She cheated me….”
“That is not possible… Kevin can’t do this to you….”Byunghun said and Eli pushed him away.
“I am so mad right now… Don’t show me your face again.” Eli left.
“I need to talk to Kevin…..”

That day he went to Kevin’s house for the first time. The guard let him in. He sat in the lounge alone waiting for Kevin to come. An old looking lady entered the room with huge bulging red eyes and somewhat messy hair. Byunghun stood up respectfully.
“Annyaaseo….” He bowed. “ I am Byunghun, Sunghyun’s friend.”
She came forward towards him and smiled at him like crazy. “Did you come to see me????” She asked in a horrifying way.
“Ah … ani….. I c-came to see Kevin…” Byungun said.
“WAE?????” She yelled and cupped his cheeks hardly.
“Ahjumma….” He tried to push her large hands away.
“Si-ommnie…..” A young beautiful lady entered the room with a maid. The maid grabbed the ahjumma and took her inside the room.
“I am really sorry for this…. So, why did you come here?”
“I-is she Kevin’s omma?” He asked with astonished looks.
“Ah… well yes…. And Kevin isn’t home yet…”
“I can wait.” He sat down.
“He might be very late. Recently he comes late at home.”
“Wae?”
“I don’t know much about it…” She replied and Byunghun came out of the house.
