Cherries and Chocolates

Kevin stood there for some time. He was incapable of manipulating his situation. There was a conflict of opposing thoughts gathering up in his mind and making him more confused and depressed. The night was absolutely darker and silent. He looked at the starless sky and exhaled.
He went to his car and sat inside it. He started the car. All of a sudden a guy from behind his seat emerged with a pistol in his hand. He targeted Kevin’s head.
“Who the hell are you?” Kevin asked in shock.
“SHUT UP! Now drive the car.” The man instructed and hit his head lightly with the edge of the pistol.

NEXT DAY
“Byunghun?” Hana called him. She went to his seat. The class was over.
“Ye….?” Byunghun got up of his seat and carried his bag.
“Uh…. Have you seen Kevin today?” She asked.
“Ummm I don’t think he came today. I’ll call him later.” He smiled and left. “I should go to see Noah… I hope she is doing fine.” He thought while walking towards her home.

NOAH’S APARTMENT
Misook came to open the door as someone rang the bell.
“Annyahaseo…. Can I come in?” Byunghun asked.
“Oh… please please…” Misook said but looked a bit startled.
“Were you expecting Kevin?....... Huh….. he isn’t that easy. I don’t think he would come today. But I’ll make sure he comes to visit you.” He assured her.
“I can rely on you.” She felt relieved.
He entered. “Where is she?” He asked.
“She’s in her room. But first let’s have a talk. Sit here…” She pointed towards the couch and he sat on it. He was ready to face the answers.
“Ye?” He asked.
“Since when you know her?” She asked.
“Well, it was 2 years ago when we had a discussion about a psychological disorder on a blog. We became online friends then. We weren’t close at all, just online friend but once she said that since I was a friend she could never meet, so she wanted to share her problems with me. That’s how I know about you and Dr. Jessica and about her disease. I also know how her parents died.”
Misook stared at him. “So you know everything?” She asked.
“I guess… I know everything… more than she knows because she’s a bit immature. Her life is so miserable. I pity her.” He explained. “And I assume that Kevin is at a high danger of receiving the disease from her now.”
Misook nodded. “It would be a miracle if he wins against death now.”
“Death?”
“Umm… it’s a strong virus. People with weak immunity are at a higher risk. Noah is still surviving because she received it from her mother.”
“So, will he die?” He asked worriedly.
“Probably, but I can’t deduce anything before some tests.”
“Hmmmm… so the situation is even more crirical than I thought.” He mumbled.
“Noah once told me about you. She said you helped her in the university. So, I thought you both were just class mates.” She told him. “So, do you have a girlfriend?”
Byunghun chuckled. “I wasn’t expecting this question. Well, no.”
“Hmmm… you should hurriedly find a good girl before falling for Noah…” Misook stared at Byunghun.
“What are you talking about? And besides even if I fall for her, she won’t even let me touch her one bit.” He smiled helplessly.
Misook sighed. “You’re such a good boy. It would be a waste if you fall for her. I can’t imagine your ruined life.” She made a gloomy face. There was a silence in the room.
“So, can I meet her?” He asked out of frustration.
She nodded in disappointment.
“I am sorry. If you don’t want it, I won’t see her.” He got up.
“Ani… she’s your friend. You should atleast ask her about her condition.” She smiled.
He smiled in response and entered the room. Noah was lying on her bed with closed eyes. She was looking like a small baby taking her nap. It was the most adorable view in his eyes. He stared at her for some time. Then, he took slow steps and reached her. He lightly stroked her cheeks which woke her up.
She screamed loudly. He took few steps back looking at her with astonishment. She hid her in the sheet.
Misook came into the room.
“What happened?” She asked worriedly.
Byunghun couldn’t reply. He was shocked.
Misook slowly removed the blanket over her face. Noah’s eyes were red and teary.
“Ah-jumma…” She mumbled while looking at Misook.
Misook sat on the bed. “Come on… give me a hug.”
“A-ani… I cant…” She said while looking away. She was aware that Byunghun was in the room as well and that she screamed at him. Misook moved forward and hugged Noah. This rare time she didn’t back off, rather hugged her back. Misook patted her back.
Byunghun was looking at Noah with a serious look. She looked back at him with teary eyes while hugging Misook. She hid her nose and lips behind her shoulder, just showing off her deadly but cute looking eyes staring Byunghun.
Byunghun counter attacked by staring into her eyes with a poker face. But he felt week against her stare as his heart started thumping at high speed. He covered her blushing cheeks with his hand and looked away. The next moment he got out of the room. His heart wasn’t stopping this high beat at any cost. He placed his hand over his heart and gulped.
“Byunghun?” Misook came out as well.
Byunghun startled. “Y-YE?” He stuttered.
“Don’t worry. I told her that you helped her last night. She's not angry with you.”
“Huh… she might have thought of me as Kevin, accidently.” He assumed.
“May be.”
“Well, I am going to Kevin.”
“Sure.” Misook replied. “And Byunghun…. Take good care of your health. May God always be with you.” She smiled and waved him goodbye.

Kevin was tied with a rope to the chair in a dark room. It was 6 in the evening. A man with a mask entered the room. He untied Kevin. Kevin was confused but happy.
“Thank u…” He rushed but the man grabbed his arm.
“Not so fast, kitty…” He smirked at him. “Come in boys…” He called the other kidnappers inside the room. There were 5 people in total excluding Kevin and one of them had a stick in his hand. Another one had a digital camera in his hand. All the men were wearing masks. Kevin gulped and reversed. He could manipulate this situation.
“Look kid, we’re told to do this. We don’t have any personal issues with you, but our boss has some disputes with your Rich father.” He looked at Kevin from head to toe. “Be easy on him and don’t kill him.” He said to the other guys. The guy left the room.
One of the kidnapper started recording the video and the other three surrounded Kevin. One man bashed Kevin with his fist on his face, the other with the stick on his backbone. They started hitting his body avoiding the vital parts.
“His father’s gonna be so amused watching this….” The guy holding the camera taunted.
After many violent attacks, they pushed him to the wall hardly and he fell unconscious. The picked him up and again tied him to the chair.

Notes

I know Kevin's original personality is cute and he's very sensible, funny, emotional and wise. In this story, i used the bad guy personality for him as it seems more interesting this way. It seems like L.joe and Kevin exchanged their personalities XD here. :P ;)
