Cherries and Chocolates

Noah woke up and found her on the hospital bed. She felt a bit dizzy. She could see Byunghun in the room. He came towards her.
“Noah….” He whispered her name and helped her to sit.
“Ah… what ….. are you doing here?” She asked. She was feeling a bit light headed.
“Lay down.” He asked her to rest a bit more.
“No, I am fine.”
“Noah…. Why did you gulp all those sleeping pills?” He asked with concern.
“I---I …. Don’t want to tell you.”
“Lay down. I don’t think you are feeling well.”
“Just tell me one thing Byunhyun…. Why did you save me?”
He glared at her. “Is Kevin the reason?”
“If you can’t protect me from your eccentric fellow…. Then what’s the meaning of saving me from killing myself?” She asked while staring back.
“I am really embarrassed, really…. He won’t change even if I tell him to.”
“Then let me die. That’s the solution he told me.”
“That bastard….” He murmured. “He would pay for that. Please, calm down for now. Don’t think too much about him. It won’t be beneficial for your health. Oh… and your neighbor was also worried about you. She sent you some cherries. She said you love cherries.”
She felt deep pain in her heart. Her eyes were fixated on his eyes. She couldn’t stop her tears from falling down her cheek.
“W-What happened? Why are you crying all of a sudden?” He asked worriedly.
“Give them to me.”
“Ah… stop crying first.” He wiped away her tears. “Wait, let me ask the doctor if it is alright.” He went out of the room and then came back after a minute.
“He says it’s alright.” Byunghun smiled.
He sat on the bed and gave her the box. She opened it and found a lot of cherries in them.
“You could eat them for a week.” He chuckled.
She took one and ate it with tears still filling her eyes.
“Did it taste well?” He asked. He raised his eyebrows in curiosity.
She glared back.
“Did… did I do something wrong?” He questioned.
She gulped and kept on staring at him. He started blushing and covered his face with his hand.
“Don’t look at me like that…..” His cheeks burned up.
She removed his hand from his face and gave him a quick kiss on his lips.
He was surprised and looked at her with slightly opened mouth.
“I am sorry.” She looked down at her lap. “I am really sorry.”
He was so startled that he couldn’t reply.
“I just wanted it to remove from my memory. Now, your face will pop-up in my mind while tasting these.” She said while blushing. “Please forgive… I know I shouldn’t have done this….I am sor----“
“Stop apologizing.” He cut off. “It’s alright, I don’t mind. I-I am going to ask the doctor about your discharge.”
“Gomawo.” She whispered.
He smiled in response and went out.

After a day later, Byunghun called her on phone.
“Yoboseyo…. How are you now?” He asked.
“Thanks to you and ahjumma, I am fine.”
“Tell me what happened that day.”
“Did you ask Kevin to apologize to me?” She asked while sitting on the couch.
“I never had a chance to talk with him on this matter since the party.”
“Oh….. so, he lied. He came to my house and lied that you asked him to apologize. Then…. He harassed me again. I even apologized to him that I slapped him… but he said that death is the only solution for me to get rid of him, so I ate those pills.”
“The injury on your head…. Was it because of him.”
“Umm…” She nodded. “He pushed me and I fell on the floor and got hit by the table.”
He frowned. “You can’t imagine how much irritated I am right now!!!” He felt enraged.
“Do something about it…. I can’t live with such a pressure and tension. It’s hard to endure it.” She pleaded.
“I will talk to him right now. Take care.”
“Umm anyoeng.” She hung up.
“Oh God, please help me.” She ran her fingers through her hair and bent. “I feel so much pressure over my chest….. Ahhh…. I hope he stops bothering me….” She murmured to herself.

Byunghun was waiting for Kevin at a restaurant.
“Hey….” Kevin arrived and sat on the chair in front of Byunghun. “So, whats up hero?”
“Huh hero?!” He sighed.
“Yeah… Hero, who saves girls from the bad guys. Why did you jump in at the most interesting moment? And this is not the first time, you always end up bothering me when i am with a girl.”
“Do you understand, you’re making your life hell?”
“Atleast its better than your boring and dull life.”
“So, hell’s better than boredom?” Byunghun asked.
“Look, I came here to talk with you. That girl, I hate her. She insulted me. So, don’t interfere or else I’ll forget about our good days.”
“I think it’s enough punishment. She even apologized to you, although you started it all.”
“Wait…. How did you know she apologized?”
“I won’t let you even touch her anymore.”
Kevin squinted his eyes in surprise.
“There are lots of other girls who like you more than you think. Go and tease them; they’ll like it.” Byunghun said.
“This is humiliation!”
“Guys like you should be used to it. You already have lost one precious friend because of a girl; don’t force me to do the same thing Eli did.”
“Do you think a girl you don’t know is more dear than a friend? She cant even pronounce your name correctly!”
Byunghun glared at her. “Decide it for yourself. Choose me or her. If you choose me, don’t ever think of going near her; and if you choose her, I won’t let you go near her.”
“Why???”
“I like her.” Byunghun bluntly replied.
“Huh… you like that bic**”
Byunghun got up and grabbed his collar. He just directed a punch towards him. “Don’t - ever- say that again!! EVER!” He released his collar.
People at the restaurant were staring at both boys. Byunghun glared at him and left the place.
Kevin stood up and clenched his teeth. “She involved my friend in this, she’ll pay.” He closed his hand in fist and went out of the restaurant.

NEXT DAY AT UNIVERSITY
“Hey Kevin…” Hyunwoo patted his back. “You ready?”
Kevin pushed him back in anger. “For what?” He mumbled.
“Your treat…. Since you weren’t able to make her fall for you… and I think it’s time to pay for all the treats we’ve given you!” He teased. “By the way, let me try this time. I think either you lack the capability or the looks you always brag about.”
Kevin frowned at him. “I’ll treat you guys today.” He looked away.
“You look upset.”
“OK FINE…. GO NOW!!!” He yelled.
“We’ll be waiting…” He waved and left.
“He’s outta his mind! Brat!” He mumbled to himself.
“Can I sit here?” A girl asked.
“Do whatever you like!” Kevin replied without looking at her.
“Kevin?” She asked softly.
Kevin remembered that voice. His expression of anger changed into distress. He moved his face towards the girl.
“Hey, Bomi…. What’s up? What are you doing here?” He asked without paying much attention towards her.
“Oh… I am studying here, business.” She smiled. “What about you?” She asked.
“Psychology….” He held his face with his hand and placed his elbow against the table. He yawned.
“So, why did you never answer me after going to Sweden? I thought you would never come back.”
He stared at her. “Didn’t I tell you, I went for vacation there…..”
“Haha how silly of me… So, will you answer me now? if I call or text you?” She asked him innocently.
“Bomi… did your friend ever tell you to avoid me? or not date me? did she?”
“Uhhh well she did but----“
“You should have listened to her. Do I have to say it…. Can’t you understand it on your own?”
“What--- are you talking about?” She stuttered and gulped.
“Urghhh…. You’re soo irritating. I don’t like you anymore so stop chasing me and don’t show me your face ever again!” He stood up.
“Wait…” She stood up as well. “But you said you loved me.”
“Bye…”
“did you find some other girl there?”
“There?” He asked.
“In Sweden….”
He stared at her and then laughed out loud. He removed a tear from his eye and went away.
She sat down again. “How can this happen?” She was startled.

Notes

Kevin's hair in this story is shoulder length and he ties half of them to show his broad forehead. I mentioned it in the first chapter but still wanted to remind you. i think he looks more manly this way and besides i like his hair in manmanhani but didnt use the picture cuz i wanted him to have black hair rather than blonde. So i hope that makes it clear. Sorry i am not good with photoshop so i couldnt make one for Kevin.
This is how his hairstyle is but a bit less messy than this one. :)
