3 Months later
Taekwoon, Hongbin, Yura and Jieun arrived at a restaurant. Hakyeon waved while sitting at a table.
Taekwoon gave him an irritated look. They all sat on the table.
“Anyahaseo….” Hakyeon greeted everyone and they sat on a table. “It’s great to see two beautiful couples here.”
“I wish you find someone to marry with soon too.” Hongbin smiled.
“I am just wondering… how is this beast treating his wife.” Hakyeon teased Taekwoon.
“You both never stop teasing each other.” Hongbin laughed.
“Its always him teasing me… and ask her yourself.” Taekwoon said.
“Ah I am fine, Hakyeon-shi.” Yura smiled.
“Jinja? I still can’t believe.” Hakyeon smiled.
The food arrived at their table and they started eating.
“Jieun… whats wrong?” Hongbin whispered.
“Nothing…” She replied.
“Then eat properly.”
She nodded and tried to eat.
“Are you alright? Unnie.”
“ummm…. Consequences of pregnancy aren’t something easy to handle.” She murmured. “Guys I’ll be right back.” She got up. “Excuse me.” She left.
“Are you taking care of her?” Hakyeon asked with concern.
“Ne…”
“Have you fought her over something?” Taekwoon asked.
“No… She just isn’t feeling well. “ Yura replied on Hongbin’s behalf.
“It’s not just this day… it’s been a few months she is acting that way. I wonder what’s wrong.” He thought.
Yura noticed. “Oppa… don’t worry. I’ll visit her and take care of her.”
“Gomawo.”
“She started calling me Leo just because of you…” Taekwoon whispered to Hakyeon.
He smiled. “Wow Leo… so she admits you are a beast.”
Taekwoon glared at him and hit him.
“Yura, did the room progress?” Hongbin asked.
“Ye… we’ve painted half of the wall and glued newspaper on the other wall opposite to the window.”
“I’ll come to take a look.” He said. “Will you come Hakyeon?”
“Why not…” He giggled.
“I’ll go look for her. Excuse me.” Hongbin left his seat.
“Something seems to be wrong.” A thought rushed through Taekwoon’s mind.
Few hours later at Home
They were in the swimming pool room and Taekwoon was inside the pool, parting water with his arms.
“Yura was sitting near the pool’s edge, with her legs in the water. She was writing something on a small pad. Taekwoon noticed. He swum to reach her and placed his arms near on the edge near her.
“What are you writing? Is it some sort of diary?” He asked.
“Ani… I’ve stopped writing diary.”
“Then what is it?”
“It’s something personal.” She extended her hand away from his reach.
“Are you trying to play with me?” He smirked.
“Ani…”
“Show it to me… Are you making my face or something?”
She laughed.
“You’ll pay Kim Yura.” He pulled her in the water and she screamed. Her writing pad also dipped in the water. There was a splash.
She hurriedly grabbed the edge and came out. She laid down on the floor and started panting. Taekwoon also came out. He bent over her, placing his hands against the floor.
“Ahhhhh… my note book....” She turned her face towards him. “What are you doing?”
He smiled.
“What? I need to change so please get off...” His kiss made her stop saying anything further. He got up and carried her.
“Is there something special today?” She asked while blushing.
He glared. “Can’t I carry you without any special event?”
“Sorry.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him while being carried. He walked slowly and reached the bedroom. He carefully laid her in the bed.
“My clothes were wet.”
“Then take them off.” He stared at her. “I think I’ve given you enough time.” He bent on his knees and held her cheek in his hand. “You’ve started calling me Leo instead of Gyosonim. But I still don’t feel it. You’re still hesitant.”
She tried to look away.
“Face me Yura. You aren’t playing fair with me.”
She grabbed his hand with both her hands. “I am sorry, Leo. I won’t repeat my mistake.”
“I hope so. But first tell me what were you doing there?”
“I was trying to solve a numerical problem.”
He chuckled. “I love you.”
“Ne… me too.”She smiled.
3 Days later
“Thanks Yura.” Jieun said while placing shopping bags on the couch.
“It’s nothing. Since we are a family now.” She smiled.
“I wish real families were as good as this family.” She murmured to herself.
“Did you say something?” Yura asked.
“Ani… Please take some rest here.”
“Taekwoon-si would be coming. I’ll go home.” Yura said.
“Lets have some tea while you’re here.” Jieun offered.
“I’ll make it then.” Yura insisted.
“I am not ill. You know that. Let me do it.”
“NOOOOO you stay here.”
“I hope you get this happiness soon too.” Jieun smiled weakly.
Yura blushed. Suddenly the lights got off. Since it was 9 at night, so it was really dark.
“Where is my cell phone?” Yura searched her pockets.
Jieun started sweating.
“Here it is.” She found it.
Suddenly they heard somebody’s footsteps. But there was not just someone but 2 or 3 persons’ footsteps were being heard.
“Yura…” Jieun grabbed her wrist. “They are here?”
“Don’t worry. I’ll call Oppa.” She dialed the number with trembling hands.
“Let’s hide somewhere.” Jieun suggested.
“OK” They both hid inside the wardrobe.
“Annyahaseo Yura… I am just coming home… Is Jieun alright.” Hongbin said over the phone
“Ani… someone got inside the house and the lights got off. Please come.” She whispered while breathing heavily.
“I’ll be right there.” He hung up and drove the car swiftly.
The lights turned on.
“JIEUN-AH” Someone yelled from outside the room. “Come out.”
“Please don’t worry.” Yura tried to calm her down.
Tears fell down Jieun’s cheeks.
The people outside hit the furniture and broke some glass pieces. They ruined some of the art work done by Hongbin and Jieun. One of the men entered their room.
Both held their breaths and their heartbeat rose.
“Hurry up oppa jebal.” She thought, while sweating.
“Jieun-ah… I found you.” He opened the wardrobe.
Yura widely opened her eyes and her legs started trembling. He grabbed Jieun out.
“ HAJIMA!!!!” Yura yelled. (hajima=stop)
The man slapped Yura with his other hand and took out a shot gun. Another man entered the room and grabbed Yura’s arms from behind. The first man pushed Jieun on the floor.
“Jieun-ah…. Didn’t I tell you? You’ll be in trouble if you don’t hand over your property to me.”
“You’re a bastard Jaekyu.” Jieun said while weeping.
“Wave your friend goodbye.” He fired the gun at her without any hesitation.
Yura’s eyes bulged out. He then turned his face towards her. “It’s your turn baby.”
All at once, all the lights switched off.
“Idiots. I told them not to do anything until I say.” He said.
The grip of the other man over Yura loosened. So, she hit him and ran outside the room. She hid herself in the kitchen.
“We’ve captured two of your men.” The police spoke out in the speaker.
“We’ve done our job. We gotta go now Jaekyu.” The other man suggested.
“But what about that girl?”
“We’ll think about her later. Let’s go now.”
“But we are surrounded.”
“Don’t worry…. I’ve got a way out. Let’s go now.”
The police entered the kitchen and saw Yura. Hongbin hurried towards her. He grabbed her.
“Why is your nose bleeding? Wh—where is Jieun?” Hongbin asked in frustration.
Yura started crying.
“Tell me Yura!” Hongbin pleaded.
“In your room.”
Hongbin rushed upstairs and opened the door. Jieun’s dead body was lying on the floor covered in blood. Hongbin stopped there, as if his feet were jammed. He felt like his voice was gone and the world around him felt dizzy. The police entered the room and went to the dead body.
“She’s dead.” One of them said and looked at Hongbin.
Taekwoon came to their house to pick up Yura and saw the police outside.
“Is there something wrong?” He asked.
“Ye… the house owner’s wife is murdered. Who are you?”
“I need to go inside.” Taekwoon rushed.
“You can’t mister. Stay here for a while.” He grabbed his arm.
“My wife’s in there too.”
“She’s alright. But we can’t let you in for a while.”
“What the hell did happen here!!!!” He thought while frowning.
