Love Math

Taekwoon opened the door to that specified room. His heart was filled with joy and his body was excited. On the other hand, Yura was still a little bit trembling. She wasn’t at ease. She wanted to escape and go to sleep, forgetting each and everything…. entering the dreamland. But to Taekwoon, this was his dreamland, his escape from this world onto his world. Yura and Taekwoon placed the instruments, brushes and paint containers on the floor. Yura stared at the painting hanging on the opposite wall near the door and then looked back at the wall. She measured something with her eyes.
“Yura…. That is my portion… I’ll complete it.” Taekwoon said.
“Do you even know how to hold a brush!!!” Yura teased him.
“Yes.”
“Ok lets see….”
Taekwoon picked up a brush of inappropriate size and dipped it into the paint.
“Wait… are you going to paint that portion …..” She pointed towards the original piece she made.
“Hmm” He nodded.
“Well then use this brush …. The one you are using is too small size …..” She gave her the right brush. He took it and stoked the brush against the wall in a wrong pattern.
“Omoo…. You are going to ruin it. Let me do it. Gimme the brush.” She asked him and lengthened her hand towards the brush. Taekwoon moved his hand away so that she couldn’t take the brush away.
“Hmmmmm…….. I’m feeling like I am dealing with a kid ……..”
“Yura tell me how to paint it. Hold my hand.”
“Ehh….” She was bewildered. “That’s stupid.” She mumbled. Nevertheless, she sat down together with him and held his hand. The brush again stroked against the wall, covering the wrong pattern and making the exact pattern swiftly. Taekwoon slowly turned his face towards hers. He looked at her face with concentration.
“Wae???” She noticed and looked back. He freed his hand from her capture and went towards the paint containers. He sat down on the floor together with her.
“Close your eyes. Hurry up.”
“Wae?” She asked.
“Hurry….”
She closed her eyes. He holded her chin with one hand while he drew something on Yura’s face with other hand.
“Open your eyes now.”
“What have you done??? Let me take a look.”
“First let me take a pic. I swear it won’t rage you.”
“OK OK…..”
Taekwoon took out his cell phone. “Make some cute expression.”
“Excuse me??? I think you’re outta your mind.”
“Don’t you believe me? Just do as I say.”
She mumbled something and tried to make some tired cute looks. He took some pics.
“Now lets take a selca.”
“Why not?” She said. “Now I’ll be able to see what he drew.” She smiled, got up and went to sit beside Taekwoon for a selca. She even got closer and their shoulders met. He chilled and looked at her.
“Whaaaat? Take one already.” She asked.
He opened the camera option but didn’t change the back camera to front camera. So he turned the cell phone’s back towards them which made Yura angry. He again took some pics. They worked on the wall for 45 mins.
“Good job Yura.” She complimented herself and smiled while yawning. “Drop me.”
“OK .”
They both left the room as it is and Taekwoon closed the door.
Hostel Yura’s Room 7:00pm
Yura rushed into the room and hurried towards the washroom hiding her face. She looked at herself in the mirror. There were 3 whiskers drawn on her face with a large black spot on her nose representing a cats nose. She smiled and chuckled.
“Yura” someone whispered her name. She heard it and looked in that direction. She saw her roommate again with that boy. She lost her temper.
“Get lost…..” Yura yelled at the boy.
“What the hell Miyeon? Who is that girl!!!” that boy yelled at Miyeon, her roommate. “You always forget to lock it.” He pointed towards the door. “Damn you …..”
“I said get lost ……” Yura screamed.
“Stop it Yura please.” Miyeon told Yura to keep quiet.
“I am going Miyeon…… I’ll see you later for sure, and that rascal as well.” The boy said and jumped out of the opened window.
Yura grabbed Miyeon’s hand and took her out of the bathroom. All of the other roommates were not present, so Yura and Miyeon sat on Miyeon’s bed. Miyeon was looking depressed.
“Look Miyeon, I wont blame you or anyone, but we all have some responsibilities. This is a girl’s hostel. You should atleast take that into account. Make sure he never appears here, Or else I’ll tell the incharge about him.”
“No Yura, he came here for the first time.”
“Whatever….. Just don’t invite him next time.”
Both became silent.
“Ummm Yura…… can I ask something?”
“Why not…”
“Ummm why did you paint that cat look on your face?”
“Omoo…..” She again rushed to the washroom.
Taekwoon’s Room 9:30pm

“I fell for her.” Taekwoon told Hongbin on call. He was sitting on a sofa, changing channels with a TV remote.
“Hmmmmm…..”
“I thought you would be shocked.” He murmured.
“I have already been shocked during your stay at the hospital. You are not that kind of guy to hug a girl out of nothing.” Hongbin clarified.
“I’ll confess.”
“Huh when she’ll find another guy…..Right?”
“Ani…… I’ll tell her sooner… and……. she has given that authority to her mother.”
“Will you confess it to her umma?”
“Yes, probably….”
“I am cheering on for your first love.” Hongbin smiled.
“I feel like I’ve been in love for a very long time ago. She came back to me. You see… its called Destiny. She exists for me…..”
“I do believe in your logic. So you’ve been in love with her since childhood… and I thought it was because she was Yuri’s dongsaeng….”
“No Hongbin….. that would be unfair and cruel.”
“Yeah yeah…. By the way why did you used my painting to get close to her. Man that’s cheating……. Ohhhhh Jieun’s calling. Take care. ” Hongbin hung up the call.
Taekwoon placed the remote on the table and started looking at the pics taken today. In their selca Yura had made a real angry face, in other selca she stuck her tongue out at him….. Taekwoon smiled.
“She really thinks she is cute……. And I think she is right.”
