Heart and Seoul
Drawn Together

I managed to survive through my first 3 classes and I found all in them without running into anyone or anything.
But now, it was a challenging moment. It was lunch time and there were a lot of people in so many places. After paying for my food I slowly walked around the cafeteria scanning the area hoping to find Crystal.
No sight of her at all.
I sighed and hoped to find an empty table at least.
“Yo new girl!” shouted a voice.
I frowned and looked around to where that annoying voice was coming from.
“To your right!” said the voice.
I looked over and saw Siwon sitting at a table with a few other people.
I relaxed my eyebrows and went over.
“Why so pissy?” he teased.
“Well shouting ‘new girl’ could make anyone annoyed,” I explained.
He grinned, “Well sorrrryyyyyy,” he exaggerated, then patted a chair next to him, “But you seemed lost so I’d like to offer you a seat,”
“Aw why thank you,” I said as I sat my tray down.
He then introduced me to his other friends that were at the table.
Their names were: Lee Hyukjae, Kim Jongwoon, and even Lee Donghae.
“Oh I didn’t know you were also a student,” I said.
“Yeah, I study singing and dancing here as well,” Donghae said.
“Oh so you’re the one that Jungsoo had to help out earlier today,” Jongwoon pointed out.
I tilted my head to the side, “Who?”
“The one you bumped into,” Siwon pointed out.
“Oh him!” I said snapping my finger.
“Speaking of Jungsoo, where is he?” Donghae asked.
Siwon shrugged, “Probably in a classroom napping, you know he never goes to lunch.”
I looked around a little more hoping I would find Crystal.

When lunch was over I glumly walked down the hall to my drawing class, I felt glum because I didn’t see Crystal all day so far and I wasn’t really looking forward to drawing class because I wasn’t all good an artist. I actually paid attention to where I was walking and finally found the room I was supposed to go to. I walked into the large classroom and took a seat on a stool at a large wooden table.
Other student slowly began to pile in and taking their seats, the teacher introduced herself and passed out her syllabus. After that she assigned us a warm up project for us to draw the wooden doll figures in front of us. I sighed to myself; I was not good at drawing body figures. I took my sketch pad out and began sketching out the figure best I could, I didn’t know where to start so I started from the feet on up.
“I would suggest you start at the head first,” spoke a male voice next to me.
I stopped my pencil and looked up, “Jungsoo?” I grinned, “You’re in this class?”
“No I just walk into random classes looking for you,” he teased.
I looked back at my paper and erased the light lines I drew, “So the head you say?” I asked as I hovered my pencil over the paper.
“Yeah, it will be much easier for you,”
I took his advice and stared out drawing the wooden head of the doll figure. Apparently I wasn’t doing it right because Jungsoo placed his hand over mines and automatically started to guide my hand.
“You’re a little crooked,” he said as he guided my hand, “And try to be light as possible and not make hard marks,”
It took him seconds to draw the perfect oval head shape that resembled the figure’s head exactly. “If you’re a visual learner I’m sure that will help,” he said after he pulled his hand back.
“O-Oh, wow thank you,” I said to him, “You make it seem so easy,”
“It only takes patience and practice. Or for some—it’s a natural talent,”
“Well, it’s going to take a LOT of patience and talent for me…” I said, “I hate that this class has to be part of my major,” I continued to try to take his advice and continue the drawing.
He adjusted his glasses, “What’s your major?” he asked.
“Photography,”
“Ah, that’s a pretty high demand job round here to,”
“Yeah I know, I’m very passionate about it,”
Jungsoo grinned, “Well work on your art skills and you can graduate with a bachelors,” he said pointing a finger at my drawing.
Subconsciously I covered the paper with my hands, “Hey I’m trying ok,”
“I can always help you,” he offered.
“You really wouldn’t mind that?”
“Nah, besides this is like a study hall for me,”
I narrowed my eyes at his slight cockiness, then smiled, “Ok fine. What about Saturdays at 4?”
“Sure,”
I finished the rest of my drawing and turned it in when the professor asked for them. Shortly after class was over and everyone got up to leave. Jungsoo got up and patted my shoulder as he walked by, “See ya round,” he said before exiting the room.

Later that afternoon I walked to my dorm room finally getting ahold of Crystal who was laying on her bed.
“Where have you been??” I asked her.
She sat up, “Classes, where else?” she laughed.
“Well yeah, but I haven’t seen you. Not even at lunch,”
“Yeah I know, but I missed lunch because a professor of mine talks—a lot, so we were late and I didn’t even bother so I came here to take a nap.” She said, “How was your day?”
I shrugged, “Ok, met this Siwon guy that’s a lil class clown but he was nice enough to let me sit at his table.” I explained, “And I bumped into this Jungsoo guy who led me to my one class and is also in my drawing class,”
A curled smile came across her face, I knew what she was about to say, “Is he cute?”
I knew it. I smiled, “He’s not that bad looking;’ I like a sophisticated guy in glasses anyway,” I continued to tell her how he also gave me a mini lesson in class and how he offered to help me on Saturdays.
“Wow, you have a study buddy already huh?” Crystal laughed, “I see you doing your thang,”
I shook my head, “Oh it’s nothing like that. He’s just being nice, probably has a hot girlfriend anyway and is just feeling sorry for my failure at art,” I then walked over to the phone at my desk. “I’m going to call my parents; hopefully it isn’t too late over there,”
“Ah I should do that to, tell your parents I love and miss them!”
I dialed the number and anxiously waited for an answer. I hope I didn’t wake anyone.
“H-Hello?” answered my mother in a tired voice.
“Mom, it’s me!” I cried.
The line got quiet for a second, “Me who?”
I laughed, “Camille,” I said. “Your daughterrrr,”
My mom’s voice finally woke up, “OH CAMMY POO! How are you baby?!?!”
“Good, I just went through my first day,”
“Oh my! I am so happy to hear that, are the people nice?”
“Yes actually, I even found someone to help me,”
“oooh, it MUST be a boy,” she laughed.
“Moom,” I droned, was I that obvious, “He’s just helping me out. That’s all,”
She laughed some more, “Well just focus on that school work cause men are men no matter what country they are from,”
I laughed, my mom and her words of wisdom never fail, and I heard a voice over the line that sounded like dad.
“Yeah! I’m talking to her now!” my mom cried out to him. I heard a couple more rustling noises of mom passing the phone to dad and I talked to him for about 20 minutes about school and the people I’ve met. Dad gave his usual lectures about me to be safe and be careful with boys. I told them I loved them and missed them and hoped to see them when I get on break.
“Ok, your turn Crystal,” I said hanging the phone up. I got up to her take my spot; I went to the bathroom to shower and change into something more comfortable to lounge in.
After contacting our family Crystal and I decided to walk around to explore more of the campus. We went by a side building that said “Student Lounge” we decided to go in and see what we find.
“This….is the lounge?” Crystal asked.
The room as nicely sized with two large plasma screen tv mounted on the wall along with a elegant white pool table with clear balls and a coffee stand off the side. There were a couple students sitting on the sofa and some playing pool. Some were in still in uniform while others had regular cloths on.
“Ohhh, I want to see if they have any tea,” I said walking to the coffee stand.
“Ah I see you have your partner in crime today,” spoke a familiar voice.
I turned to see Siwon and his lil gang over by the pool table.
“Oh hey!” I said smile giving them a wave.
We walked over to them and I introduced Crystal to everyone.
“Oh you’re in my Music Theory class,” Crystal said to Siwon.
“Oh yeah you are, I thought you looked familiar,”
I looked around seeing if Jungsoo was with them this time, “Does Jungsoo not hang with you guys?” I asked.
“He does,” Siwon explained, “But he prefers to stray away sometimes. He hangs out with us on his time,”
“Real Anti-Social,” Donghae added.
I would have never thought. He seemed like a social person, especially when he talks about art and drawing.
Crystal tugged on my arm, “Let’s go to that café thing, I’m hungry,”
“Ok,” I said goodbye to Siwon and his friends then went to get something to eat with crystal.
