ICU 2
“Let me see the song now hyung.” Bayne whispered. “No. I want to let Zayne see as well. Check your phone and see if he texted you.” Wayne said as he check his phone. At that moment Bayne got a call from his mother. “Umma…What’s wrong…What…The hospital…Right now…We’ll be there…Ne umma…Talk to you later.” Bayne got up and started to drag Wayne. “What’s wrong man?” Wayne asked. “My mom called and said that Zayne was emitted to the hospital thirty minutes ago.” Bayne started to unlock his bike and Wayne quickly followed. They rode their bikes all the way to the hospital without another word. When they arrived at the hospital, they were breathless. “Zayne. Excuse me. We’re looking for a Zayne Kim. We were told that he was emitted here not too long ago.” Wayne panted. “He is in ICU 2.” The Nurse said. “Thank you.” Wayne bowed. He grabbed Bayne’s arm and walked off. “Hyung, what does ICU mean?” Bayne asked. “It means Intensive Care Unit. Every hospital has at least three or four. Its purpose is for those who jut got out of surgery or in really bad condition.” Wayne said.
“ZAYNE! ZAYNE! WAKE UP ZAYNE!” Bayne started to yell when he walked into the ICU with Wayne right behind him. “Shut up Bayne. You’re too loud.” Wayne hit Bayne in the back in his head with some papers and walked slowly to Zayne. “You got pale so fast. I finally finished our title song Whisper. I want to share it with you so wake up soon.” Wayne rubbed Zayne’s forehead. He slowly moved his hand and turned to the doctor. “Is something wrong?” He had asked. “He’s sweating. A lot. His forehead seems hot as well.” Wayne looked at Zayne and back at the doctor. “Let me see.” The doctor walked up to Zayne and felt his forehead. “Can I get w nurse? I need some cold wet towels for Zayne. Thank you.” The doctor held out his hand and waited for a cold wet towels. “Hyung...” Bayne sat on the floor at the foot of the hospital bed with his head in between his knees. “I have to get back to work. I am so sorry. My boss will kill me if I’m out any longer.” Papa Kim said. “But ajoshi-” Bayne jolted up from his spot. “I know. I’ll come back once my shift is done. I’m sorry.” He kissed Zayne’s forehead and walked off quickly.
“Sundae...Sun...Dae...” Zayne mumbled. “Sundae? Oh right! He had a puppy with him. Where is she?” Wayne asked. “She’s under the bed. When we tried to pick her up, she kept on running away and eventually ended up under there.” The doctor pointed to the bed. “I’m sorry, when did I ever ask for a story? Sundae. Come here girl. The big mean doctor won’t hurt you. That’d a good girl.” Wayne was able to get Sundae from under the bed and picked her up. “I’ll take her outside. Bayne come with me. Now.”Wayne glared at Bayne and he nodded. When they got outside, Wayne slowly put Sundae down and turned to Bayne. “I don’t trust that doctor.” Wayne snarled. “How come?” Bayne asked. “I bet that he doesn’t even know that Zayne appendix will burst. He needs to go into surgery.” Wayne crossed his arms across his chest. “It did? How’d you know?” Bayne widen his eyes. “My appendix did the same three years ago.” Wayne sighed. He leaned against a beam and looked towards the parking lot. He closed his eyes and held his breath. “Hyung…Please, don’t be like this. I don’t want to lose you.” Bayne said under his breath. Wayne smiled and opened his eyes slightly. He unravelled the papers he was holding and gave it to Bayne. “I know I said that I wanted to show Zayne as well but due to the circumstances I can’t. And he’s the only one that can hit those notes really well.” Wayne’s eyes darkened. Bayne looked at him, sadly.
