We are One...For You

Before you know it, time flew fast. And for the past few days you got along the guys well. Walking with you to school, eating with you at lunch and chatting on break times. They maybe clumsy and childish at some times, but they were really fun to be with. Yes, you know for a fact that they share hints of romantic feelings for you, but befriending them seems the best choice available than leave them hanging. You don’t wanna be the cause of these guys falling apart, right? Besides, they might forget they like you if you just stick with being friends with them.

AT CLASS

“Ok people, as you know, just a few more weeks summer break is up. So you know what this means?” Mr. Lee announced.

“SUMMER BREAK!” the students in the class cheered and started jumping up and down in excitement.

Summer break –it was the only time the kids at school got a break from all the torturous school work. Just you, the warm summer breeze, hot beaches and scorching sun. It was indeed heaven for anyone. But for you, it was just another break. At summer break, you don’t usually do stuff like go out on the beaches, hang out with friends or go shopping at the mall. You just lock yourself at home, lie down all day, listen to some tunes, watch a show on the television or just sleep. There was nothing much to do on this so-called vacation. So you just sighed.

“Ehem.” Mr Lee coughed. “No –it means the Annual school summer dance.” He rolled his eyes in disappointment.

“Woah! Even better!” Hyun-ok squealed in excitement. Which made everyone nod their heads in agreement.

‘Oh no. The annual summer dance?! This was worse than summer.’ Your jaw dropped. According to what Suho said once, since he was a member of the school council, it was just an event were everyone got to wear fancy dresses and dance with their loved ones etc. etc. You couldn’t even imagine the thought of you attending it. You were so not into these types of things.

“But sir.” You raised your hand. “Is it compulsory?” you gulped.

“Everyone is required to attend.” He answered. Great! Now you don’t have a single chance of escape. You buried your face in the desk as misery.

“Ok you guys can now take your break. The rules and guidelines for the dance is posted on the announcement board outside.” He continued and left the room.

You won’t even bother to go out and see it since you weren’t interested. You just sat there worrying on what to do. You heard the other girls talk about what outfit they would wear. Some guys were waiting outside the other rooms, maybe to ask someone out. See? You have three problems. First, you were never interested in the dance whatsoever. Next, you don’t have a dress to wear. And lastly, never was someone gonna ask you out! You just face palmed yourself and stood up to go to your next class.

After being haunted by the dance thoughts for 3 classes, finally it was lunch time. You zombie walked to the cafeteria and hope you don’t meet up with the guys. You just wanna be alone and let your thoughts fly out free. Then you took a seat and took out your home made lunch and started eating. Good thing you were the only one in the cafeteria since your class got dismissed 20 minutes earlier. You closed your eyes. ‘Ugh! What am I gonna do now?!’ you mentally complained. Then you felt a really active commotion heading your way. It was as if a whole class was running towards you. You opened your eyes and was startled to see Exo in front of you.

“SHIN-HEE CAN YOU PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME TO THE DANCE?” they blurted out at the same time. You were so taken aback with what they said that you need to clarify it.

-EXO POV-
Right after their classes, Chanyeol, Kris, Baekhyun, Tao, Kai and Xiumin waited outside Classes 1 and 3’s room to wait for the others.

“Uh! What is taking them to end?” Kai complained. He was already walking back and forth for a couple of times.

“Chill bro. Not their fault since our class got dismissed earlier.” Xiumin tried to calm the younger one down.

Finally after a few more minutes of waiting. The two other classes were finally dismissed.
“Ah! FINALLY!” Chanyeol exclaimed. “Let’s go now! I’m starving.” He rubbed his stomach. The rest of the guys just giggled. They slowly walked their way to the cafeteria.

“So you guys heard of the dance?” Kris asked. They paused. The guy seriously knows when to start a competition.

“Ugh, yeah.” Lay gulped.

“So…does anyone of you have anyone to ask out?” Kris just blurted out. Now everyone stopped. They just stared at Kris suspiciously for a second. ‘What is this guy thinking?’ they raised there eyebrow.

“What?” he chuckled. “Just asking.” Now they shot glares at each other. ‘Are they thinking what I’m thinking?’ each of them was thinking. For seconds they stood there in the middle of the hallway giving each other suspicious looks. It was like thEy were sending mixed signals to each other.

“So…I’ll just be on my way.” Kyungsoo broke the silence and slowly walked his way out of the tense atmosphere.

“Yeah. Me too. I have something important to do.” Baekhyun followed. The guys shot cold stares at both of them.

“And by important, you mean ask her out?” Kai asked which made all of their eyes widen in shock. Then out of the blue, the group of guys started running their hearts out to the cafeteria.

“I’ll get her first!” Chanyeol exclaimed. 12 guys were now head to head to the cafeteria, which made everyone standing by the hallway, surprised to see such a commotion.

“Not if I get her first hyung!” Sehun shouted and pushed Chanyeol a little to the side, which almost made the poor guy tumble over.

Then finally they see the heavenly doors that led to the cafeteria. This is what they have been waiting for. Whoever gets to arrive there first will be the first one to ask her out. Nothing was on their mind right now –all they want was to ask out the girl of their dreams. They had their minds and hearts set out for it. They saw the dark-haired girl eating on one of the tables all alone in the cafeteria. Without thinking twice they raced their way to her. The poor girl was so startled seeing them all of a sudden.

“SHIN-HEE CAN YOU PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME TO THE DANCE?” they all said in chorus. They shot each other death glares. ‘I knew they were thinking of it.’ Each guy’s mind thought. The girl just sat there frozen in shock.

-YOUR POV-

“I-I’m sorry…What?” you stuttered. You heard their words clearly. You were just trying to clarify if you just heard what you really did hear, taken back by the sudden happening.

“You heard me, you wanna go out with me.” Kai held your hand, which made everyone grit their teeth in annoyance.

“No. I asked her out first!” Tao broke in.

“No mine!” Xiumin-hyung took your hand away from Kai’s.

Next thing you know, the guys were quarrelling on who will get you. You just stood there motionless, not even daring to utter a single word, fearing that it may just make things worse. But after a few moments, they were still screaming at each other in your face. You became very annoyed and irritated that you can’t take it anymore and just spat it in their face.

“I’M NOT GOING WITH ANYONE!” you yelled. Good thing you were just the people in the cafeteria, or else it would have become really awkward. The guys froze in place, shocked by your sudden outburst. Yes, no one has seen you become this angry before.

“I’m not going out with anyone.” You repeated softly.

“But–“ they chorused.

“Just don’t.” you cut him off before they could even say anything. You stood up and just left. You just hated what just happened. One day they are all getting along, and now they are falling apart. You just hoped everything will get better between them. You never wanted to be the cause of their treasured friendship falling apart.

3 DAYS PASSED

For the past days, you have been giving them the cold shoulder all the time. No, you weren’t really ignoring them. You just talked to them when needed to, but if you did, in a really cold-mannered way. It was just pissing you off to see the guys not getting along in any way.
Break time.

You hanged out your usual spot on the campus. There was no teacher for the next class anyway, so you just decided to chill out for a while. It has been a long time since you’ve been alone with yourself. It has been quite hard to find time for yourself ever since Exo came to your life and provided you’re company. You didn’t really hate it when they are always there for you, it’s just that you miss how things were before. Being alone, not with the presence of others. Listening to some tunes, not to another one’s voice. You plugged in your earphones to listen to some music. You closed your eyes and just hope no one would dare to disturb your peace.

Minutes passed and not even a person minded you, much to your joy. Finally thinking that the endless peace would never end, you heard a familiar voice calling out your name.
“SHIN-HEE ah~!” his voice was ringing in your ears even though you were on earphones. This could only mean one guy –Chen. Then you feel a number of presence approach you. Now the atmosphere was tensed, yet you decided to pretend you didn’t hear anything.

“Shin-hee!” you felt someone lean on your shoulders, which you assumed to be Sehun since he was the only guy you know that gets this close to you. Your cheeks showed a light pink.

“Oh Shin-hee! Don’t do this!” you hear Chanyeol’s cheerful voice beg. You still shut your eyes closed and hummed to the music.

“If you continue doing this…I’ll kiss you.” Only Kai would be stupid enough to think of that. Your cheeks turned red. ‘You won’t dare!’ you thought.

Then you feel a warm presence approach your face slowly. Cold sweat was running from your forehead. You felt electric ripples ran throughout you. Then you felt someone getting inches away from your face. Your eyes were still shut close. You were 100% percent sure he wouldn’t do it. But the chance just get lower as you feel his face getting closer and closer with yours. 4 inches. 3 inches. 2.5 inches. You calculated as the guy’s face started closing the gap between you and his.

“I’ll do it.” Kai whispered softly. 1 inch. But before he could even close the gap completely, you pushed his face away full force.

“Ok. Ok. Fine.!” You roared. The guy just managed to test your patience. Now you had no choice but to talk to them. “Damn you Kim Jongin!” The rest just laughed, especially Kai who just smirked.

“Come on. You weren’t really gonna think we will let him do it. Right?” Suho chuckled while punching Kai in his shoulder at the same time. Kai just let out a small yelp of pain.

“Yeah. Were not gonna let HIM do it to you!” Kris shot Kai a death glare, which made the younger one smile innocently.

“Anyways, what do you want?” you rolled your eyes. The guys looked at each other.
“We are sorry for just arguing in front of you.” Lay explained. “We didn’t mean to just burst out like that.”

“We were just…” Luhan added. “Afraid you’re not gonna answer any one of us.” He frowned.
You looked up. You never thought about that cause. You had to admit, if you were one of them, you would feel the same way. You now felt guilty for screaming at them. You hoped it never happened.

“Uh…Guys. I’m the one who should be sorry from the sudden outburst.” You looked down ashamed.

“Hey, don’t be sad.” Luhan lifted your chin up so he can face you. Which made the others give cold stares at him. “It was never your fault.” He flashed a smile which made you feel relieved.

Few minutes passed and you were still under the tree’s shade with the guys. You managed to forgive them for what happened. These guys were just too damn hard to resist. And it just led with you all talking about random stuff. From school life, bubble teas and right now, about dreams. The guys from Class 1 and 3 even skipped class so they can stay!

“When we graduate, we want to be a group known by all.” Baekhyun shared.

“It has always been our dream to be one.” D.O. broke in.

“Yeah! A group known for singing.” Chen said.

“And dancing.” Lay added.

“And rapping.” Chanyeol coughed. Which made everyone giggle.

“A group, the girls would swoon over.” Kai said. “We would be called…”

“The 12 monkeys?” you joked. The guys just laughed laughed.

“Hahaha.” Suho laughed sarcastically. “No…EXO!” he corrected.

“Of course!” you just agreed.

Then all of you just continued your fun for the rest of the hour. Talking about the little things you find, the guys never failed to make you smile and laugh your heart out. You had one of the best time in your life right there, with the guys who just manage to make your day complete. Everything was nearly perfect. Little did you know, a jealous presence was watching from inside the campus building.

-HYUN-OK’S POV-
Class was finally over. It was really sad not to see my Kris-oppa and the others in class. I was supposed to show them my new collection of brooches. Well, the exception of Shin-Hee. She just pisses me off seeing her clinging to them, which makes me sick. But they were just not there. “Hmmm…I wonder where could have they gone?” I sighed.

I dragged along my two other minions, I mean ‘friends’ to my locker, when I hear a soft laughter coming from outside the campus. I turned around to look outside soccer field And that’s where I saw probably the most painful thing that hit me. Shin-Hee was with the rest of Exo guys. Laughing and all. Enjoying the company with the 12 gorgeous guys. And worse, Kris-oppa was sitting beside her. I was the only onesupposed to get that close to him. He was mine. Only mine! I wasn’t going to let anyone be with him. Tears started forming in my eyes. I just couldn’t take what I saw.

“What a bitch.” I said while a tear fell from my eye. Soon-bok and Sook-jo nodded in agreement. Then that’s when I thought of a plan. A plan where she would be completely destroyed. I would be happy and Exo won’t have to worry about her clinginess anymore. It’s a win-win. Yes, that’s it. Hope it works.

“I think I have a plan to get rid of that bitch.” I said as I took out my phone. Which the other 2 immediately understood my intentions.

This was it. I am gonna destroy her. I’m gonna help Exo rid of her. She was just a mere parasite. “You just clinged to the wrong guy.”
