Days Thereafter

“Who is it?” I call out.

*Knock* *Knock*

“I’m coming!” I stand in front of the door, pat down my shirt and take in a deep breath. I open the door and it’s not someone I was expecting.

“It’s me Jin, Jungkook told me you also study at Yonsei University, can I come in?”

“Oh, yeah, of course.” I move aside to let him in and close the door just slightly, enough to drown out the boisterous laughter in the living room.

“So what exactly do you study?” He asks and sits on the desk in the corner.

If he can make casual wear look this good, I wonder how he would look in something nicer.

“I study Biology”I answer. An uncomfortable pause ensues after and I certainly don’t want to be the one to break it.

“If you ever need help with anything like around campus or if you want to eat lunch together, just call me.”

He hops of the desk and then walks towards me and sits next to me. He holds out his hand and then looks at me.

“What?”

“Your phone” He says

I hand over my phone and watch him as he tries to decipher the english words, it makes me smile just a little seeing him squint at my phone. I take it back from his hands and enter in his name, then hand it back over for his number.

Then he puts his arm around my shoulder and brings me right next to his body.

“Smile!” he says

I look at the last second, too late. He looks at the picture and starts laughing till he’s doubled over. I don't even know what I looked like yet, but I already know it’s embarrassing. I get my phone back and see this handsome guy next to a cross eyed troll who looks like they got whiplash.

“Oh my God, we can’t use this picture.” I try to delete the picture but he takes it from my hands before I get the chance.

“Yah, this is the best picture ever!” he keeps laughing and then turns away from me.

“Hey, what are you doing?!” I try and grab my phone back but its no use, his arms are longer than mine. Seconds later I hear a beep.

“Did you send that to your phone?!” I can’t help but think of all the possibilities that could go wrong with that picture. What if he sends it to the other guys?

“Yah! You better not send that to anyone! Got it?” I feel so nervous

“Then make me a promise” he says leaning towards me.

“Anything.” His face gets closer to mine then he whispers...

“Eat lunch with me at school.” Its such a simple request, not something I was expecting.

“Thats it?”

“Yes” he says, handing me back my phone and heading towards the door.

“So I’ll see you tomorrow then, text me before you arrive and I will help you get to your classes. Goodnight” He leaves and closes the door behind.

I'm grateful he’s keeping it to himself but I wish he didn't have it at all, but at least I won't be as lonely on campus anymore.

You change for bed and call your family before going to sleep.
