Chapter 26
The person walking in doesn’t see me yet, they’re too busy looking at the ground. I start to look for something around me to defend myself with. The closest thing is a book shelf with a good amount of books stacked on top.
This will have to do I guess…
I take the first book, hardcover and aim for the person. They’re looking for something in their pockets. Before they have time to pull it out I chuck the book as hard as I can. It hits them in the chest.
“APAYO!” The man yells and rubs his chest. He takes off his hood and looks at me angrily.
It was the manager?!
“Yah? What did I ever do to you?! Huh? I even helped move your stuff in here!”
“Mianheyo! Gwenchana? I thought you were an intruder.” I bow an apology over and over.
I don’t know if I feel sorrier towards the manager or mad that I can’t aim.
“Gwenchana, but you need to work on your aim, okay? No one is going to be scared away by having a book thrown at their chest, or even by book.” I just look down and nod.
“Where are the boys?” I shyly ask.
“They won’t be able to go with you for your check up, so I came to help you there.” I sigh and just nod.
The manager and I head to the hospital for my check up in silence. The only noise is Orange Caramel’s My Copycat on the radio.
We both head into the hospital and wait in the room. Finally the doctor comes in.
“Good afternoon, how are you feeling?”
“I feel okay, I’m still pretty sore and all that jazz, but not too bad.”
“Okay, well let’s take a look at your feet.” He starts unwrapping my feet to fast and then slowing down when it gets closer. When they finally come off I see my feet.
“Well, we have some of the minor cuts look like they are completely healed… The bigger ones look like half healed scabs. Overall they look okay. Let see how you walk.”
The nerves set in.
“I’m scared it’s going to hurt.” I admit
“Well if the pain gets to be too much we can get you some painkillers, how does that sound?” I look down and will my feet to touch the floor.
My skin meets with the cold ceramic floor. I take a deep breath and stand. My feet actually enjoy the pressure I can finally put on them, my thigh however, disagrees. The ache has always been there, but it’s even stronger than before. I try and keep all my pain to myself as I take a few steps forward, the result is that my face turns bright red.
“Okay, let’s get you sitting down again.” He says while bringing the wheelchair to me.
“You don’t need the wheelchair anymore but you need some medicine, I’ll get that taken care of for you.” He pats me on the shoulder and leaves.
“Gaja!” The manager says excitedly.
What are you so happy about?
The manager helps me limp out of the hospital and into the van. We head home in complete silence this time, no radio.

The manager helps me in and then just stands awkwardly as I position myself on the couch.
“Mhm… There’s something for you in the bedroom.” He rushes out, leaving me alone.
“Why does it have to be in the other room?” I groan.
I make myself stand and limp my way into the bedroom. I look on our bed and see a bundle of white roses on top of a royal blue box and a card. I lift up the card and read it.
“Jagiya! We still haven’t celebrated our 1 month anniversary! Well, we’re going to change that. Put this on and I’ll be by at 6:30 to get you! Saranghe! Ppo ppo!”
I smile and set the roses on the bed with the card. I untie the black satin ribbon from the box and lift the lid.

After showering I rebandage my arm and style my hair. I put on simple makeup and put on the dress Jimin bought me. Since it was so skimpy and it was a bit chilly out I decided to add black tights and a blazer.
My computer doesn't like how this program is so to see the outfit, you should check out this link
They also help conceal my bruises and arm. By the time I’m finished I check the time and see that it’s 6:20. I decide to wait on the couch and look through my SNS. At 6:28 I hear the door open and someone comes in. I turn around to see the love of my life. Jimin is holding another dozen roses, red this time and dressed up as well. I can’t take my eyes off of his smile. He set the roses down on the coffee table and hold his arm out to me.
“Let’s go, shall we?” I link my arm into his and we leave in a black sedan.
