Days Thereafter

I wake up and find Jimin’s arm still around me. He’s still sleeping. I look at him and study his features. Even though his face is so familiar, it’s like I’m seeing him for the first time. The curve of his jaw line, his cheekbones that show slightly. My eyes keeping tracing him, his closed eyes, his lashes, and following the straight line of his nose and down to his lips. I free my hand from the cover and trace his lips with the tip of my finger. They’re soft and warm. His eyes flutter open and see me. I drop my hand onto the bed. His eyes are such a deep brown they warm me and make me shiver by how many different hues of brown make such a pretty color as his.

So I guess this is what they call a honeymoon phase right? When you see nothing wrong with the person you love.

“Good morning!” he says with his morning voice.

Lord have mercy! If that doesn’t have any effect on anybody, there’s something wrong with them.

“Good morning.” I whisper back.

“See something you like?” he beams at me.

“No, something I love.” God I’m cheesy.

He chuckles and gets out of bed, the sunlight that streams through the window streaking his naked back. He yawns and stretches, facing away from me.

I have no decent thoughts running through my head right now. He turns towards me and rubs his stomach. I can’t help but notice his abs, when he catches me looking it makes me blush, making him laugh.

“Yah, are you a byuntae now? I need to hide myself from your eyes from now on I guess.” He chuckles

“Wae? I can’t look at my own boyfriend?” We both laugh.

He sits on the edge of the bed, leans forward and gives me a kiss that makes my heart flutter.

“Are you hungry?”

“Starving” I reply. He rustles through his bag and pulls on a black tee.

“I’ll head to the cafeteria and get us something yummy to eat, don’t try moving without me!” I watch his retreating figure and marvel at how perfect he is.

It wouldn't hurt to give this living together thing a shot.

He comes back with two breakfast sandwiches and two cups of tea. We eat and watch the news.

“So, are we going to be sleeping in the same bed every night?” I ask

“What? You’re getting discharged today you pabo.”

“Ani, you pabo! I’m talking about when I move in with you. Duh.” He sets his cup of tea on the bedside table and turns back towards me.

“What did you say?” I look down at my hands and answer him.

“I said, when I move in with you are we going to be sleeping in the same bed?” I peek up at him and see his face is glowing with happiness.

“Jagiya!” He embraces me warmly, but carefully.

“Of course we’ll have to share the same bed! I’ll have to make room in my closet for everything and make sure it’s all clean for you, I’ll call the Kim’s and the boys and let them know what’s going on.”

I forgot he lives with all the other guys… omo. Ottoeke?

I listen to his conversations with everybody and it’s all going well.

There’s no going back when he’s this happy.

“Okay, everybody is on the same page, I made Kookie switch me beds, so now there will be room for the both us and the boys are making room for your stuff and the Kim’s are getting all your stuff ready and manager hyung is going to deliver it to the house-“

“Park Jimin, take a breath and slow down.” I plead.

He just lightly laughs and comes to sit next to me. He leans in and kisses me again, a deep passionate one. It makes my blood feel alive and leaves us both smiling and breathless.

The doctors run their tests again and everything seems fine.

I can finally go home. With Jiminie. To my new home.

The thought makes me grin from ear to ear.

Everyone is at the hospital and hugs me warmly. The nurses help me dress and get situated in the wheelchair.

“When you look a bit better to go out let’s all go to a restaurant and celebrate you being discharged, ok?” Mrs. Kim suggests happily.

“Of course!” I smile back.
