Arranged Love

"You must either choose to marry Baekhyun or to marry Kyungsoo and that's final!" Shin Ah's mother argued.

"I don't want anything to do with this marriage! If you want me to marry that much then why don't you go ahead and marry them instead?!" Shin Ah retorted as she stomped her way to her room.

Shin Ah was fed up with her parents setting her up into things she never asked for. She loved her parents with all her heart but there was a line they had to draw. She was barely 20, how did they expect her to marry so quickly. Yes, her family was rich and the marriage was arranged for business purposes but she didn't even know who Baekhyun and Kyungsoo were. How'd they expect her to marry a stranger?


"Just wait when your father gets home, young lady!" Her mother said as Shin Ah slammed her room door.


"Tsk! Marriage? Isn't that absurd, Ru?" Shin Ah said as she cuddled with her dog on the bed.


"Life is so hard. Why can't I just be like you and just worry about sniffing butts, hm?" Shin Ah sighs as Ru licks her cheek to comfort her.


"Only you understand me Ru. Why can't I get marry to you instead?" Shin Ah chuckles at her question as she snuggles closer to her husky.


Shin Ah turns to her bedroom door as she hears it open and soon her father enters the room.


"Shin ah-ah, I heard from your mother that you won't go through with the marriage. Why, honey?" Her father asks as he sat on the side of her bed.



"I know that I get to choose who I get to marry between Mr. Byun's two sons but why must I get married to someone I don't even know? Why couldn't you guys have thought up of a different way to deal with joining the companies instead of doing it like... this? Just why, father?" Shin ah was filled with disappointment at how her father could sell her off for business purposes. It wasn't right at all, especially when two people who had nothing to do with it were pushed into marriage.


"Ddal, I know the boys. They're good men and it would be a relief to see my daughter entrusted with someone I know who could and would take care of you no matter what happens. I did this for you, ddal, I want what's best for you. You're my only daughter, my only child, and my only heiress, ddal. If you can't do it for yourself, then do it for your mother and I, alright?"


"You did this for me, father? You're wrong! This is all for your own selfishness! Fine! I'll do as you want me to but not as your daughter, only as your heiress. But don't ever say you did this for me. You didn't even asked about how I felt about this... you didn't even let me have a say into this." Shin Ah was on the verge of crying but she held it in.



"I really do just want the best for you, ddal. Even if you say that, you'll always daddy's little girl. But the marriage will be held in about a month, during that month you'll be staying with the Byuns so you could get to know the boys. It'll be enough time for you to choose who you'd like to marry by then. So start packing, you'll be leaving tomorrow night to the Byuns." Shin Ah took in all the information as her father left to leave her to her thoughts.


'Tomorrow? Living with the Byuns? Tsk. Tsk.'


"Whatever with this. Tsk." Shin Ah scoffed and laid on her side with Ru in her arms.

"Take care, ddal. Your mother and I'll check on you once in awhile. Be sure to call us, your mother will worry if you don't." Shin Ah's father said before he turned to talk to Mr. Byun.


"And Mr. Byun do watch over her for me. Hope you don't mind her bring her dog along, sorry about that." Mr. Ahn said.


"I'll treat her as if she were to be my own daughter. This house is more than enough room for one more, especially if it's a dog." Mr. Byun smiled kindly and pats Ru's head.


"I'll take my leave then." Mr. Ahn bows and enters his car and drives off.

'Way to go and leave your daughter with a stranger! Best dad in the world! Tsk.'


"Alright, well lets go inside umm Ahn Shin Ah right?" Mr. Byun smiled.

"Ye..yes that's me." Shin Ah stuttered.

"Mmm Mr. Kim take her bags inside to her room and put a dog bed in there too." Mr. Byun ordered their butler.


"Yes, sir." In a swift, the butler and two other servants took Shin Ah's bags and took it inside.

Shin Ah was given a quick tour of the house and now was having diner with the Byun family.


"Let me introduce you guys, this is Byun Baekhyun and Do Kyungsoo. Boys, meet Ahn shin Ah. one of you is going to get married to her." Mr. Byun said and chuckled knowing how his sons would react.

"Nae?! One of us to marry her? Him or Me?" They both said at the same time pointing to Shin Ah then the other and soon themselves. Shin Ah eyes were semi wide due to the fact that they didn't even know about the arrangement yet.

'It's rude to point, dudes.'

"Yes." Mr. Byun Chuckled and continued. "But I'm not sure who's going to marry her. She'll be the one to choose."


"Why does she get to decide?" Baekhun asked his father.



"Cause there's two of you and one of her." Mr. Byun pointed back and forth between Baekhyun and Kyungsoo then to Shin Ah.



'Like they say, "Like father like son", in this case, sons.'



"Baek you can have her." Kyungsoo said nonchalantly as if Shin Ah wasn't there with them.



"You need a girlfriend more than I do." Baekhyun smirked at Kyungsoo, once again talking as if Shin Ah wasn't there.


"Settled down boys. Miss Ahn Shin Ah is here as a guest and you mustn't be rude in front of the guest." Mr. Byun sternly said as the boys shut their mouths.




"I have a question." Shin Ah said.

"Go ahead." My. Byun said and turn his eyes back onto his food.

"How come only his surname is different?" Pointing at Kyunysoo like how they pointed to her.

"Well you see, he's my sister's son but her husband and her died in a car accident. No relatives of ours would take him in. So I adopted him and under the law he's my son. Adopting this kid was one of the greatest things that had happened to me in my life." He patted the latter's head.


"What about me then?" Baekhyun retorted gaining a laugh from Shin Ahn. Her laughter gained all their attention.


"Sorry. I. Didn't. Mean. To. Laugh." She said in between chuckles.
