This Wednesday we would be recording my first appearance on a variety show, so in between work and school I had gained the help of a few cute experts in the matter. Super Junior where always on hand for me and I had tried to get so much help from them as possible, they are the nations most loved group after BigBang. After my debut stage, I didn’t really see my brother often he was busily preparing for his comeback tour, and appearances on variety shows, this October we were scheduled for five different variety shows, the first one I would appear on is Weekly idol, and we would be recording this Wednesday, then we’d be recording Infinity Challenge, Running Man, Happy Together and Hello Counsellor. I would be with BigBang during all of the appearances but SiWon, HeeChul, LeeTeuk and DongHae had agreed to come with me for moral support. I was glad I had these friends and I had no doubt at all that EunHyuk, KyuHyun, RyeoWook, ShinDong, SungMin, YeSung and ZhouMi and Henry would be coming with me too.

I was really happy with my life, I was still best friends with Lee JiEun and my sister Suzy, we were all becoming really close, and they stayed over a lot. HaYi, always came with us, she was amazing and one of my best friends. Suzy hadn’t told her parents yet, but she had discussed all the details with my father, who was still as nice as anything. He had made Suzy a room and she stayed round often, but kept it a secret until they arranged the date with Suzy’s foster family. We were all still confused on how Suzy had gone missing, you couldn’t just have got up and ran away from the hospital, and there are certain things you must be aware of especially at the age of five.

Me, Suzy, IU and HaYi would go out often to eat and up until now that is what we did. Now, I had woken up with the sound of footsteps on my bedroom floor and a voice gently waking me up. “JiEun-ah it’s Wednesday, you must get up.” The voice continued but then approached me and stroked my face “JiEun, my little hoobae, get up you are going to be late for your first variety.”

Suddenly I was shaking. “JIEUN, get up you lazy head, Weekly idol in four hours, hurry up.”

“Arraseo, I’m awake, I’m awake.” I rub my eyes and squint to see SiWon on my bed, “SiWon-ah, what are you doing here?”

“I’ve come to wake you up, now let’s put on some music and get you ready, now go and take a shower and get dressed put some pretty make up on and nice clothes, I’ll bring your breakfast up here.” SiWon said, and all I could think is he is taking this too far already, I mean yes he had been helping me with interview style questions and my talents but he didn’t need to wake me up, I realise I was daydreaming about it until fingers snapped in my face.
“Hurry!”

I did as SiWon told me. I got in the shower did everything I needed to do and made sure my appearance was okay for my first televised appearance. Other than JM Countdown, we would eventually go on Show Champion and Inkigayo and loads more, and I’m pretty sure I’d get fed up after a while and end up just repeating things. I got out the shower and got dressed into one of the nicest casual outfits I could find, which ended up being high waisted shorts and a cute crop top with the Korean football team logo, I decided it was suitable and put on some heels on. They were sparkly and looked lovely. I couldn’t wait for this variety performance I just hoped I wouldn’t have to answer uncomfortable questions.

SiWon arrived with my breakfast and I sat and ate with him. Two hours left before I have to leave. I was about to get up and go when he pulled me back down and pulled his chair round to me. “Aniyeo, we need to do your make-up.” He said matter—of-factly. I nodded and he went to get some make-up he arrived with a big box and sat right opposite me doing my make up.

After a while I decided to take a look, my word. I looked beautiful for once. “Sunbaenim, I look pretty for once.” I say.

“JiEun,” he replies “you always look beautiful, even without makeup, anyway we best get you downstairs your car awaits.”

“Okay, gomawo sunbae, your still coming right?” I ask and he nods and mouths ‘obviously’ as the doors close.

When I get to the basement building I am greeted by HyungDon and Defconn, they seem really nice, BigBang walk in moments after and they greet HyungDon and Defconn like friends, well I suppose if they have been on it so often they would.

A few minutes later SuperJunior turn up and HyungDon questions why they are there. “We are here to support our best friend and our little sister JiEun.” HeeChul replies.

“Ah, okay,”HyungDon replies “Let’s start our recording.”

They begin to do the intro which is very funny and as they mention BigBang, BigBang walk on stage, they begin asking normal questions, like ‘How long has it been?’ ‘How was recording’ etc but then they mention the new comeback, “So Hwang JiEun is the infamous daughter of JinMan right? And your sister JiYong? Right?” JiYong nods and I look to Daesung and Seungri and the rest of BigBang. “So everybody, please welcome our special guest Hwang JiEun.” I walk onto the stage with a big of effort by DongHae pushing me.
I greet Defconn and HyungDon, and take a seat right in the middle of BigBang, next to Daesung and SeungHyun. “JiEun, how is life back in Korean?” Defconn asks.

“Ah, it’s really nice, the weather is a lot warmer than it is back in England, although the air is much cleaner, even in the bigger cities.”

“Ahhh, I can see why, you stayed in a cottage didn’t you and went to school there for eight years?”

“Yeah, it was really nice, I studied Dance at an academy for the arts. I also trained in Languages.”

“Would you mind showing us some of your dancing skills right now?” HyungDon asked.

“Sure, why not I haven’t prepared anything,” I lied, this is exactly the stuff SiWon and HeeChul had prepared me for. “So please take care of me.”

HyungDon asks for music and it begins, I use the choreography I had learnt throughout my dancing in England and it seems to go down well. Defconn and HyungDon praise my work. I sit back down thanking them. And I hi-five all the members.

“JiYong, what is it like having your little sister back?”

“It’s really nice, while I was here she was all over the other side of the world, but we kept in contact often, we spoke a lot and I did with my mom and my other little sisters too. So it was nice, despite the circumstances.”

“Oh, yes, you must miss your mother?” Defconn said in a sorrowful manor.

“Yeah we both do, but im sure she is proud of us.”

“Okay, let’s go into the random play dance.”

“Music start please!” We go through all the songs almost perfectly, SeungHyun and Seungri makes two small mistakes each, but they let them off, but Daesung makes a mistake and they pick it up straight away and punish him for it. All of a sudden a red hammer is thrown our way and HyungDon asks who Daesung wants to punish him, he straight away says my name. He hands me the hammer and I tell him to lower his lead, instead of hitting his head I hit the floor hard Daesung jumps a lot and this time I hit his head, but not as hard as I hit the floor.

“Ah, ah ah ah ah, JiEun, that wasn’t good enough, it’s your turn to be punished. You must choose wisely.”

I think about it, Daesung would hit me hard, YoungBae not hard enough, nor JiYong or SeungHyun, Seungri might, but he’s our maknae I wouldn’t want him to get punished, so who out of HyungDon or Defconn?

“I will choose HyungDon oppa.”

“What made you come to that decision?” He asks to which I explain my logic about not want them to get hurt.

He laughs and I proceed to bend down a little so he can get my head. The only reason I choose HyungDon, is because although he looks scarier that Defconn he probably has a weaker arm, but Defconn would probably hit gentler because he is a nice person.

He hits. It hurts but not a lot. I laugh it off and sit back down with the others, next is our profile writing, so we get in order of our age and obviously me and Seungri are last. We got through our profiles, SeungHyun is up first. His talent is his rap and English. They agree that it is his talent as he shows it. JiYong is next and his talent is acting and rapping so they get him to rap a little for entertainment. After the rap, he states he is a good cook too. I quickly speak up for him and agree letting them know he cooks breakfast and dinner for me sometimes. Next is YoungBae, his talent is dancing, so when he asks me to dance with him I agree. He whispers in my ear the dance we practiced for the debut stage, but then I whisper our trainee’s dance that we both helped choreograph – Trouble Makers debut track. He agrees and we put on some music and dance, it is fun dancing with these guys especially with Taeyang because his dance moves are so smooth and great he is definitely the best dancer I know. They agree with Taeyangs talent and they move on to Daesung, and Seungri. Last is me.

“So from what I understand, you speak many languages, you dance, play piano, guitar and violin, you sing trot and kpop is there anything you can’t do.”

“Everything I’ve done so far I can do but I haven’t really tried acting or modelling so I’m not sure. I will say according to these guys and the trainees and artists at the dorm my most favourable talent is dance. I can show you some more if you want?”

They nod and I pull up EunHyuk and DongHae from the side and Siwon joins in. ”I have bought my friends here to help me with this, SuperJuniors DongHae, EunHyuk and Siwon.”

We dance to one of SuperJuniors songs. They congratulate me and then ask me to sing a trot song. I begin to sing ‘Oppaneun punggakjeangi’ after I finished I was applauded by the members of bigbang and the MC’s.

“Wow, we’ve never heard her sing trot before, that was awesome,” Taeyang said.

“How did you learn trot?” Defconn asked me.

“Well, my mothers grandmother was a trot musician, and my nan and mom used to sing it to me and JiYong so I kind of picked it up from listening to them.” I reply.

“That’s cool, we’ve never had a trot singer on Weekly idol before, right shall we move onto the next section?” Defconn asks.

“Yes, next section is a new one, never played before, we will ask each of you a question on a topic and you have to write down a members name who fits the description on the whiteboard in front of you.”

First: who is the most annoying?

SeungHyun got picked by four of us, me, JiYong, YoungBae and Daesung, Seungri choose Daesung and SeungHyun choose me.

“T.O.P is the most annoying, why?”

“He thinks he’s cute and he sits on you like he is a child, just generally annoying things.” I say.

“T.O.P why is JiEun the most annoying?”

“She doesn’t accept my cuteness, she tells me I’m heavy when I sit on her and she asks me why I follow her around on stage.”

“Ah, so you are in love with JiEun,” Defconn asks while SeungHyun nods.

“He’s not he always jokes about this is why he is annoying.” I reply pouting at him.

“Next Question: Who has the best body?”

Me, SeungHyun Daesung choose YoungBae but JiYong, YoungBae and Seungri chose me.
Three votes each. The MC’s ask us to stand up and we do as the say YoungBae puts his arm around me.

“Wow, you really do look like a couple, and we will give you best body awards. Last question, who has the cutest face,”

I thought about this one and I decided to go with my brother. When the answer was revealed, all five of them put me. I was shocked and now this game was over, the MC’s agreed with the answer and we move on to the last face ConiDoni Idol Call Centre.

The first question came up, “G-Dragon, I love you, your new song is amazing and I love your sisters involvement, congratulations on being number one on JM Countdown.”

There was a lot of praise for us during this section. The second question, “can you do the Pepero challenge?”

Okay, so Hyungdon told us to get into pairs by doing rock paper scissors and the end results were, Daesung and Seungri couple one, JiYong and SeungHyun couple two and me and YoungBae couple three.

The game started couple one got a 5 cm stick left and didn’t kiss. My brother and T.O.P were next and the got a 4cm stick and ended up kissing which sent the MC’s red faced and none of BigBang could watch without becoming embarrassed. It was mine and YoungBae’s turn, I held the stick in my mouth and closed my eyes, I could feel his lips inching towards my mouth, I was getting nervous and I opened my eyes a little and saw how close his face was to mine. There was nothing between us now. His breathe was warm on my lips and I trembled a little and all of a sudden he kissed me, and bit the very last bit of the stick off, there was barely 1cm left. So me and YoungBae won.

“Woah, you guys are really close, I couldn’t watch that, anyway, Taeyang and JiEun –winners, onto one last call before we end our recording.”

The caller appeared on the screen, “We want to know who your idol celebrity type is.”
SeungHyun said my name, as did YoungBae. JiYong said nobody but he likes the look of one of the trainees we have. (No guessing who that was, I bet IU is blushing right now) Daesung said he liked Lee Hyori because she’s not scary but she’s tough, Seungri said his ideal type was some like sunny from SNSD. Next it was my turn. “I don’t really have an ideal type, I suppose it would be someone who is kind and a good cook but with a good body and a lovely sense of humour, I don’t really care about how cute their face is, just someone funny and kind, oh and a great dancer.”

Hyungdon stepped in “You basically described YoungBae there JiEun.”

Just then a mysterious person appeared on stage, it was Siwon, “No No No hyung, JiEun was definitely on about me I just thought I should let you know.” He said into my microphone. Aish babo.

“Are you sure it wasn’t about Taeyang?”

I shrug my shoulders and let them end the programme and we wave goodbye and walk off.

Ah that was fun, I cannot wait until we go on running man now or on Inkigayo or anything else I wonder if there will be other random guests.

We all got home and had some delicious food, but as soon as I had finished eating I received a text, ‘Ghostboy’ I should really change his name, but then again he is like a stalker to me. I read the text “Come down as soon as you can please.”

It was getting late, I wonder what he wanted at this time of the night.
