I saw everything. It was horrific. They began dancing so wonderfully, if they had kept it going they would have been winners for sure. JiYong and YoungBae were right up the front and I could sense a third change in song coming, the remixes were great and the choreography was amazing. They would have definitely won.

I saw JiEun faint. I couldn’t control myself, I ran and picked her up and I look at her appa, who nodded at me and YoungBae followed me. He called a taxi to get to the hospital, when we got there YoungBae paid for the taxi as I rushed her in. The doctor attended to her immediately. It was serious. I was left outside waiting with YoungBae.

I had never spoke before, but I had to. “Was it you that bought her here last time?” he asks.

“Yeh, I am the infamous ghost boy.”

“Hey how do you know that’s what she calls you?”

“I overheard a conversation between her and Lee JiEun. That’s all.”

YoungBae looked extremely worried, he obviously had some sort of relationship with her, he was shaking and tapping, but everything seemed to ease when JiYong and a few others arrived.

“What has happened?” He asks, showing his concern for his little sister, he spoke fast.

“I brought her in, the doctors are seeing to her straight away, we can’t go in yet.” I reply “What happened last time I brought her here?”

Tao speaks up “the doctors said she was suffering from overwork and exhaustion, she works everyday apart from Sunday, and even then she does school work and practicing.”

“We have been trying to stop her from working so much, but she will not listen.” Eli says, I notice that YoungBae is still in shock and is really worried about her.

I put my hand on his shoulder, “I’m sure she’ll be okay hyung.” I try to convince him, and I hope it works, but he gets up and glances in the window and begins to pace up and down, JiYong sits down where YoungBae previously sat.

“Don’t worry about him, he likes her, a lot, ever since they were children, they both like each other, but my sister feels that someone is looking out for her,” JiYong states and I nod in
agreement.

Just then, Taemin, Jonghyun, Key and Onew arrive.

“What happened at the competition?” I ask.

“Our group won.” Taemin says, quite disappointedly “we were sure that your group would have won if you didn’t stop performing though, so it makes our effort seem nothing compare to yours.”

“Who is your leader?” BaekHyun asks.

“That would be me.” I begin and then I remember the terms and conditions of the prizes. “Who was your maknae?” I ask,

“JiEun.” JiYong says.

“Don’t you think we should change it? Because of her health?” Tao asks.

“Ani, JiEun will not like that, at all, she is so stubborn.” SeungHyun

“Don’t worry, I will not make her do ridiculous things I promise.” I say.

Just then President Hwang and two girls and another man walk in to the waiting room.

“Annyeong appa, Annyeong dongseng.” JiYong says and then turns to the man “Annyeong Kwon MinJun ahjussi.”

“Ah, oppa how is unnie?” a little girl asks, I presume it is JiEun’s little sister.

“She’ll be okay the doctors are atteneding to her right now.” JiYong says.

“Anyway, I was wondering could I speak to all of the participants of the competition today please, if you meet us at the dormitory and HQ of JM Ent today at five o clock would be great.”

President Hwang said, ‘why would he want to speak to everyone now? I look at the time it is only four o clock. I wanted to wait to see the verdict of JiEun, will she be okay.

We waited an extra ten minutes and then the doctor came out.

YoungBae was the first one to ask. “How is she?”

“She is fine, low blood sugar levels and tiredness had overcome her, I did tell her to rest at home, so I will be keeping her in hospital for a few days just so we can monitor her. She will need some clothes, about a weeks worth of the clothes and necessities.”

“I will get her clothes for her” IU says.

“Mm Araseyo, can we go in now?” JiYong asks.

“Yeh, just don’t stress her out. Okay?” The doctor says, I glance at the name badge on his apron ‘Doctor Wu’ I knew he was the same one who treated her last time. I said goodbye to the rest of the group and headed to JM Ent HQ with Taemin and the rest of the group.

Taemin didn’t speak, but I could tell what he was thinking. ‘Why would you save a girl you don’t know.’ He starred at me for a while. We eventually got to the HQ and stepped inside the building and headed to the reception area where we were greeted by a woman, who was no older than twenty seven. She accompanied me, Taemin, JognHyun, Key and Onew around the building and sat us in a waiting room and she waited with us.

A sudden sound appeared on a television screen above our heads, ‘Taemin, JongHyun, Onew Minho and Key, please report to HQ President office immediately.’

We did as we said and the woman took us round. When we got there we entered a large white room full of posters of previous trainees who had debuted. Super Junior, So Nyeo Shi Dae, Lee Hyori and Sistar were everywhere.

We sat down in seats that were reserved for us and Hwang JinMan entered, we stood up and bowed.

“I guess you all know why you are in here, don’t you?” He said.

We shook our heads, “I’m sorry but no we don’t” Key said politely.

“Ahh, it was a bit sudden, wasn’t it,” we all nodded in agreement. “Well if you look at the piece of paper being handed to you by ShinYoung I am sure you all recognise what this is.” ShinYoung, the woman who had accompanied us handed us a thick folder labelled contract.

“Wait, does this mean, we g-get to become trainees now?” I asked.

“Ahh, you know then?” President Hwang said. “ShinYoung here, is a very very able manager, she manages BigBang and SuperJunior. Now she wants to recruit more people. You have been selected along with a few of you school mates, EXO, UKISS, CNBLUE, FTIsland, BAP, Got7 and hopefully a few more.”

“So, what you are saying is to, have a look at the contract and become trainees, and we will debut with J M Entertainment?” Taemin asked.

“That is exactly what I am saying, ShinYoung will accompany you back to the room where you can discuss in private about becoming a trainee and have a look at the contract in detail.” Hwang JinMan says.

As we walk out with ShinYoung she says “It’s great isn’t it, you’ve been choosen.”

“How come it is so suddenly though?” I ask.

“Ahh, ever since his daughters have returned, JiEun-ah MinJi and EunJi, he has been extremely
happy and he is going to boost his earnings a lot more so this year he set up a huge competition, bigger than the ones before, to see who actually wanted to debut, all the ones that entered will be trainees and debut within the next two years.” ShinYoung says, “I did suggest most of this though. Due to Hwang JiEun’s nature, she will naturally inherit the company later on in life so he wants to make it run as smoothly as possibly.”

‘Wait, JIEUN will own this company?’ I thought to myself, now that is cool. I didn’t know that. The dormitories were amazing, enough room for five people in each dorm, perfect for us anyway.

There was a small kitchen, two bathrooms, a large open living room and dining room combined too. Two bedrooms, were big enough to fit two – three beds in.

Would this be where we live if we debut. I’d never want to move out if we did. I was already used to living with Taemin, JongHyun, Key and Onew and we were all sure it would be fine to continue living together.

“What should we do,” JongHyun asked.

“Isn’t it obvious? We have to sign the contract, this is what we have been working for.” Key says.

“Let’s look at the contract.” I say.

We all read through the contract. Page one: Trainee life: You must all complete a series of training sessions including dance or instruments, depending on your groups style. Vocals and rap and even songwriting and composing. Whilst being a trainee you are free to live in the dormitories as long as you attend school and practice for at least an hour a night, you must attend trainee meetings with your manager.

You must help promote your debut single in anyway and prepare for a debut stage on JM: Countdown. This includes a two week holiday where you do nothing but practice your debut single album.

Post: Debut

After you have debuted, you are able to live in the dormitories still, but if you want, you can move out and live peacefully, but this means you have to travel to attend meetings, interviews, practice sessions and other similar group activities. You will also need to come up with activities for your debut variety program, which will feature your group as a whole and also attend fan signings and perform concerts.

Finally the rules of the company,

1)Dating: Dating is allowed, but only if it is kept a secret, if rumours emerge from the fans, they will need to be set straight. Please do not cause anti-hate to any other members of JM Entertainment due to dating them.

2)Anti-Fans/Bullying: If you are seen to be hurting other JM Entertainment members then you will be put on a reflection period from one month – one year depending on how bad the situation is. This will allow fans to calm down and hopefully you will be able to regroup and become a better person.

3)Family: Seeing family members is important, but you must remember you can only see family members three times a week during trainee life and once a week when you have debuted, which is all dependant on your popularity and schedule.

4)Hold upmost respect to managers and presidents and other members of staff, otherwise a reflection period is required. Also, handphones are allowed but must be turned off during training sessions, meetings, group events, performances and tours.

5)Three Strikes. If you fail to abide by rules on the third time, you will be disqualified and your contract will be destroyed.

As far as earnings are concerned, until the age of 18 you will not be able to receive a penny unless a certain request or emergency is made. After the age of 18, you will get an 80% share of what you earn, 20% will go to the company and the 80% will be split into the number of people in your group.

If at the end of your five year contract, you think there is still enough fans and music ability, we can renew your contract and proceed for another five year contract.

“This contract is almost too good to be true” Onew says.

“I know, ShinYoung noona,” I say and she turns and looks at me, “Is this all true?” I ask

“Yes, everything is true, but life as a trainee is hard, if you want to become the best you have to put extra time into it, for example, SuperJunior, didn’t see their family for months because they wanted to train even harder, they did phone and write to them, but they tried super hard to get to where they are. RyeoWook, would even bleed he trained so hard, he had to visit hospital three times a month, we eventually had to calm him down and put him on a rest period. The health of our members is the most important thing, but that is why SuperJunior are so famous and well known, because they put extra time in.”

Okay, so shall we do this guys?” Taemin asks.

“yeah” we all chorus.

“SHINee’s back” I whispered.

We signed the last part of the contract which finalised everything and we agreed to move into our dormitory tomorrow, after we moved all our stuff out of our small rooftop house.

Everything had changed. Later that night I received a message off Hwang JiYong.
