It All Started With Ice Cream
Jaejoong to the rescue!
~Jaejoong POV~
I am feeling a bit giddy with anticipation as we head down to the meeting. I am very excited that Yoochun is showing interest in a girl, and such an interesting one at that. Her constant stream of ice cream curse words is both adorable and aggravating. I’m with Junsu, we are going out for a double scoop after this wraps up. I’m also happy that he trusts me to help out his new girl; with any luck we can trap her coworker easily. Then set to the real work of hooking the two love birds up.
I peek over at Junsu. He gives me a look, glances at Yoochun, then back at me while wiggling his eyebrows. I stifle a giggle, can he be more obvious? At least I know he is onboard with hooking Yoochun and Anna up. I start to wonder what this devil of hers looks like. Will she be obvious? I think not or someone else would have caught on and exposed her already. Either way, the game is a foot!
As we come down the hallway I see an older gentlemen standing by our manager. He must be the owner of Star promotions and the uncle of our trouble maker; I really need to learn her name.
We are all introduced to President Kim and guided down the hallway to a conference room. As we enter we see a woman reprimanding Anna.
“Anna, I know you can’t possibly know who these people are being a foreigner, but please don’t embarrass our team. As the new member, just try to stay out of the way.”
And it seems the opening salvo goes to the butter brickle bitch. Wow, Anna wasn’t kidding on how poorly she’s being treated. I glance over at her and see she is devastated by being scolded in front of so many people. Right then I decide I’m going to give it my all for her and Yoochun, no one deserves this.
Anna glances over at us as President Kim starts introductions to the team, trying to gloss over what we heard. I throw Anna a saucy wink to let her know we’ve got her back. She returns our smiles and turns a glare back at her team leader, who it seems is named Kim HaeRa. At least we now have a name.
We all sit down and HaeRa starts the presentation. I’m actually looking forward to this part, I want to see how Anna’s fabulous sketches turned into the final design. Even her sketches were by far better than the three previous campaigns the other companies pitched us. They were all so boring and overdone. But I also want to see if HaeRa tries to take credit for the designs or simply plays it off as a team effort? I’m willing to go easy on her if she shares credit with the team, including Anna, though I’ll still make sure the record is set straight. But is she tries to be greedy, we will devastate her.
We all sit back and HaeRa goes through the presentation. She goes over their overall strategy for the tour promotions, then we get to see the main logo design. It’s wonderful! I can see its roots in Anna’s sketch clearly. She then clicks onto further slides with the poster, banner, billboard and merchandise designs. You can see the vision Anna showed us in her sketches take form. There are some changes, it’s been changed to fit the current trends but the roots are there plain to be seen. And it truly is the best we’ve been shown this week. I am very happy.
HaeRa continues on with the presentation outlining more details about deliverables and photo shoots and cross promotions. You can tell that someone has put a lot of time and effort into making our tour campaign a success. Then I see the slide Anna mentioned, where it lists HaeRa as the design creator. I again wonder if that’s her taking possession or simply because it was a group effort and she’s the leader. I guess it’s time for us to find out and help our girl. After all, it looks like she’s done a lot for us already; I can tell this tour will be a success because of her efforts.
As HaeRa is wrapping up and recapping the presentation I shoot a text to our manager.
“Hyung, can you ask whose work it is specifically for the logo design and the promotional tie-ins?”
Hyung reads the text, then gives me a strange look but nods his head. Yoochun sees this exchange and gives me a smile; he knows I’m starting my attack.
HaeRa asks if there are any questions. President Kim praises his niece and the team for their hard work, then turns and again asks if we’ve any questions.
Hyung steps up for us. “Can you tell me who the logo designer is? And who thought up the various promotional tie ins?” he asked.
HaeRa answered with, “The overall campaign and logo design are my own work. As to the tie-ins, some are my ideas and some come from various team members. I’d have to know which you’re interested in to tell you who they belong to.”
There it was, bold as day, her claiming the design as her own. I’d bet my last won that most of the tie ins were Anna’s ideas as well. I glance over at my two band mates to see their reactions to her claim. They seem calm at first glance but I can see Junsu’s eyes are squinted up and he’s made his hands into fists, Yoochun also looks fine but is leaning forward and a glance down shows he’s clutching the sides of his chair, as if he’s barely keeping himself from launching out of it. I need to take action quickly before he does something rash.
~HaeRa POV~
I could tell that they were impressed with the design for the campaign while I was giving the presentation. I think they really liked some of those promotional tie-ins that hussy Anna came up with. This contract is as good as signed, and with it a hefty bonus for your truly. I think I hit the jackpot the day she came to our team. Poor little girl doesn’t even realize we’re taking all the credit and cashing in on the bonuses. I don’t even think she knows there are bonuses. She’s just so happy to be contributing to the team and that our team is successful. What a team player! Ugh, she makes me sick. I think if she makes one more of her corny ice cream jokes I may actually throw up.
Jaejoong is so gorgeous! I don’t usually go for guys his style, but for him I’d be willing to make an exception. I swear when he talks I can feel my ovaries quiver. Maybe if I impress him enough with the designs I can also get him to go out for drinks afterwards to discuss further details. Seems Anna may be good for even more than I thought, the poor little fool doesn’t even know what she’s missing out on. It’s not like she’d know who JYJ is, so I’m not really taking advantage of her am I? I smile at the delicious thoughts of all Jaejoong and I could be doing later…

HaeRa is looking at me and a smile comes over her face. Ugh, I know that look. Never gonna happen you evil red bean sundae. Huh, maybe Anna’s rubbing off on me. I decide to get the show on the road.
“Can we go back to the logo design slide?” I ask.
“Of course.” HaeRa puts the logo back on screen and I look at it.
I really do like the design but I was more excited by the original sketch. I turn to the guys, “I’m not too sure, what do you two think?” They both look at it then back at me. I give them a subtle head nod.
“It’s my favorite of all that we’ve seen so far, but I’m also not sure it’s quite right.” says Junsu.
“There’s a dynamic component missing,” says Yoochun. “Maybe we need to open up the submissions again?”
President Kim and HaeRa get these panicked looks on their faces and start scrambling for ways to reassure us. Anna has a worried smile on her face, not sure where we’re going with this but it’s obvious she trusts us. She’s about to be rewarded for it.
“No, I don’t think we have to go that far,” I say. President Kim looks relieved at my words. “I think the design has good bones, they’ve just tried to make it too mainstream. And I am really impressed with the rest of the campaign. I think we just need some revisions on the logo design itself.”
HaeRa begins to speak, “Of course I’d be happy to…”
I cut her off by turning to Anna and saying loudly, “Anna, I really liked the original sketches of the design you showed me before your team got involved. Do you also still have the original draft of the logo, from before you made the changes suggested by them? I think your original concept is more in line with what we want for our tour.”
There’s a moment of stunned silence in the room. I can see Yoochun and Junsu grinning wildly out the corner of my eye and a confused look on manager hyung’s face. I can only imagine what President Kim and HaeRa’s faces look like. But right now I’m maintaining my eye contact with Anna. I am willing her with all my might to take charge and show that she is worthy of our help and worthy of my band mate’s admiration. That she is capable of being the gutsy gal I know she has inside herself, which she showed us up on the roof before.
I see her brace herself, take a deep breath and smile. This is going to be good.

I know! I haven't been inspired about it lately so I wanted to end it rather than abandon it. I may go back and add more later if I feel inspired but right now I'm drawn to some other stories I'm working on. Keep your subscription, so if I do add on you'll be informed. Hopefully I can go back and make a better ending for these two.
