Today is my friend’s birthday. Actually, it’s two people’s birthday. My friend and her twin brother. I hand them their gifts; matching headphones, but one was pink and one was orange; their favourite colours. And what a coincidence! Luhan knows the birthday boy! “Let me guess…He’s your soccer friend?” I tease. “Yep.” He laughs. As I talk to Luhan and wait for everyone to arrive at the amusement park, I hear a familiar voice call my name. I turn to see my childhood friend Sally. “Sally!” I shriek. We embrace and shout inaudible things to each other. “It’s been so long!” she shouts. “Wow! I didn’t know you were invited! We have some catching up to do!” I laugh happily. Luhan clears his throat and I remember his existence. “Oh. Sally, this is my friend Luhan. Luhan, this is Sally; my childhood friend.” I introduce them. “Just a friend?” she teases while nudging me. “Or have you been busy since I last saw you?” she raises her eyebrow and pokes her tongue out at me. I see Luhan blush and I shove Sally hard. “I have a boyfriend, but it’s not him.” I mumble to her. We talk about everything that has happened to us ever since we last saw each other until everyone arrives. We purchase wristbands for all the rides and scuttle in past the other people. “No one is to get lost! This place is pretty big. Pair up with another person and don’t lose them!” We will all meet back here at 7:30pm got it?” Say the twins. “Let’s go!” I pair up with Luhan because it’s obvious he doesn’t know anyone else other than the birthday boy and I. Sally pairs up with a girl named Tanya and we just go off in a group of four.

“Let’s go on this rollercoaster!” Says Sally excitedly. Luhan goes stiff. “Yeah, let’s go!” says Tanya. Luhan goes pale. “Alright then It’ll be fun!” I say, eyeing Luhan. He swallows and follows us to the line. “I think I’ll just stand at the side and watch you guys.” He says weakly. “If you don’t go on, (Y/N) won’t have a carriage partner.” Pouts Sally. “C’mon and lets go!” She pulls Luhan into the line and we block him from the exit. He pleads and begs to let him leave the line. The girls smirk evilly and shake our heads. On the fide, he grips the bar tightly. “Oh my god I’m going to die.” He mumbles to himself. “Aw, little Luhan is scared. Do you need me to hold your hand?” I laugh at him. “Maybe.” He admits. I’m surprised by his answer, but there is no time to analyze it in my head because the ride starts. Luhan instantly grabs onto one of my hands while the other one is gripped tightly onto the safety bar. The rails take us up, nearing the first drop. Luhan closes his eyes and inhales deeply. This is where it gets interesting.

Luhan stumbles off of the ride. “Are you happy now?” he breathes. “I’m never doing that again.” He mutters. “Let’s go again!” shouts Sally excitedly, and Tanya agrees with her. “You guys can go again. I’ll stay here with Luhan.” I chuckle.

The time goes by too quickly and it’s already 7:30pm. “Nice meeting you Tanya.” I say. “Nice meeting you too.” She replies. I hug Sally tightly. “I’m going to miss you so much.” I say. “That reminds me. I wonder how it slipped my mind. I’m coming to your school!” she squeals. “What? That’s awesome! But why?” I ask. “The only way to get into the year 11 and 12 campus is if you already attend the 7 to 10 campus. The year 11 and 12 campus is good so yeah.” Sally smiles widely. “Can’t wait to go school with you.” I smile back.

We all part ways and I hug the birthday twins. “Thanks for inviting me.” I say to them before walking off with Luhan. “How are you getting home?” he asks. I shrug my shoulders. “Public transport I guess. What about you?” “My mum is picking me up. Why don’t you take a lift with me? You live across the road.” He says. “Really? Could you do that?” I ask, relieved. “Sure thing (Y/N).” he smiles cutely. I feel my cheeks get hot. “You look like a girl when you smile.” I chuckle at him. He gasps and then turns away from me. “It’s so cute.” I add. “No. No. I’m not cute.” He pouts. I pat him on the head and giggle. While we wait for her parents, Luhan asks an unexpected question. “Can I ask you about liking someone?” he says while twiddling his thumbs.
“Sure.” I say casually.
“Um… How do you know if you like someone?” he says shyly.
“I guess, you get butterflies when you’re around them, you think about them all the time, and you get butterflies when you think about them all the time.”
“Oh.” He replies.
“Do you like someone?” I ask excitedly. “Who is she?” But he doesn’t answer, he just asks another question.
“OK…So…I like this girl, but, I don’t know if she likes me back. What do I do?” He scratches his head. I can feel him getting nervous.
“Do you talk often?” I ask.
“Not really.”
“Then you should start talking to her more. Try to see her in real life as much as possible. Um, I’m not really good with this stuff although I’m in a relationship.” I admit.
“What if…Hmm…What if I like her, but a friend likes her too? What would I do?”
“You should prove to her you like her more, if you do. Be bold with what you do!” I giggle. “But if your friend gets to her first, then hands off man.” I shake my head.
He nods slowly in response. A car pulls up on the sidewalk and beeps at us. “It’s my mum.” He says. “Let’s go.” We hop into the car and we get home. Luhan walks me to my house. “So…Can I know who you like?” I attempt to make him spill. “You’ll find out one day.” He says with a smile. He suddenly embraces me. I wrap my arms around him too; otherwise it would be awkward for him. When he lets go he stutters. “Um…G-Goodbye (Y/N). See y-you when I s-see you.” He crosses the road and goes into his house. I too get into my house, exhausted. “Hey (Y/N). Want some dinner?” asks my mum. I nod and join her and my dad. After dinner, I quickly wash up and go to bed.
