The way which the wind blows

Sehun’s POV
The Exo members are gathered at Yixing’s house. He called us, urging us to come over as soon as possible. “Now guys. I know you love me. And you’re going to love me even more when I tell you the news.” He smiles. The guys buzz and murmur with excitement. “Tell us already!” Minseok shouts. “I’ve gotten us signed with SM Entertainment. We’ll be real stars people!” Yixing jumps up and down. The rest of us jump with his after he have realized what he has said. “No way!” says Kyungsoo. “I bet you’re bluffing. How did you do it?” “With the help of Joonmyun of course.” Yixing puts his arm around Joonmyun. We cheer.

To celebrate, we go out to eat Korean barbeque. We’re extremely excited that we got signed to a company. “Seriously. How did you do it? How did you get us signed to SM?” asks Kyungsoo. “I contacted them and showed them a video of us performing History and Mama at the school assembly. Luckily some people record that stuff.” Yixing laughs. I’m so excited that I almost forget the situation with Luhan and (Y/N). Is she cheating on me? Joonmyun’s phone rings and as he picks up his face turns serious. He stands up as he listens to the voice on the phone. When he hangs up, he swallows. “Jongin, he’s awake.” He says.

We didn’t hesitate to tackle Jongin with hugs. But something was wrong. He smiled, but he didn’t say anything to us. The doctor explains that Jongin has speech difficulties and he needs a speech pathologist to help him regain his speech. We exhale in relief. At least it’s nothing major, like he doesn’t remember us, or something. The doctor talks to Jongin’s mum in private while we all talk to him. We talk and laugh about the things ha has missed out on while he was in a coma. Something snaps in my head. He doesn’t know Wu Fan left. He doesn’t even know Chanyeol died. I swallow. I don’t want to be the one to tell him, but he deserves to know. Jongin’s face saddens. Like he read my mind. He takes a pen off the bench near him and grabs Joonmyun’s arm. He writes; ‘Where is Wu Fan and Chanyeol?’. Just like he read my mind. We all stare at each other, we don’t want to tell him, but we do. My palms become sweaty and I feel tired. I see Luhan put his arm on Jongin’s shoulder. “Wu Fan has gone to America. He has a rare heart condition and America is more advanced than Korea.” He says. Jongin nods with a smile. Now he wants to know where Chanyeol is. Luhan’s eyes become glossy. “Ch-Chanyeol. He…Remember why you got put into a coma? Chanyeol didn’t make it.” Luhan attempts to soften the blow, he tried his best but I don’t think it worked because Jongin bursts into tears. He shakily picks up the pen and writes on Joonmyun’s other arm. ‘It’s all my fault. He saved me.’ He drops the pen and cups his head in his hands. At that moment, Jongin’s mum returns to the room. “What happened?” she asked rushing over to him. “We told him what happened to Chanyeol.” I mutter.

We leave the hospital soon after. Jongin has to stay in the hospital for another night to make sure he is in a stable condition. “Does this mean Jongin wont be able to join Exo in SM…? As in, because, he cant speak yet.” Says Minseok. “It’s unfortunate, but I guess so.” Sighs Yixing. We haven’t even debuted and we’re already falling apart.” Kyungsoo slaps him over the head. “Ow what was that for?!” Yixing screeches. “Don’t say such things about ‘falling apart’ you idiot. I didn’t even smack you that hard.” Kyungsoo scolds. It no use scolding him for telling the unfortunate truth. Everyone thinks it now.
