Chapter 2
'What?' I smiled. That was one of the lamest jokes I had ever heard. Maybe it wasn't fully a joke. I mean, the SHINee boys were actually here. I doubted, however, that it was even possible for them to live together with four foreign girls who didn't speak Korean, for one month.
'Allright you guys. Really funny. Now where are the hidden camera's? Let's quit the bull crap now.' The guy that was called Jonghyun scoffed.
'There are hidden camera's but I think they will remain here for some time longer.' Pfft, what a jerk. A jerk with big nostrils.
'No offence to you, Jonghyun, KEY, ONEW, Minho and Taemin but, what the hell? How did it come this far? How did the convince our parents? Or haven't they informed our parents at all?'
Anisha looked at Kate in a demanding way. Her voice had paused for a moment when she had spoken Taemin's name. I took another good look at him. He was skinny, very skinny, just like Anisha and judging by the fact that he was moving his leg up and down, he also couldn't stand still. If we really were going to live together I would have to keep my eye on that guy, just in case. My image of idols at that time wasn’t very pleasant. In my opinion they all were some handsome arrogant and mean.
Even if they politely ignored you because your situation was really awkward, like ONEW was still doing. It could be an act for the camera’s after all, just to make sure that his fans still liked him.
‘Your parents were forced to sign some papers, remember?’ Anisha frowned. ‘What does that have to do with it?’ Jay gave me a meaningful look.
‘You know what they say, right? Always read the fine print.’
‘No way! Kate, did your parents seriously use such a dirty trick?’ I said nothing, I remembered reading the letter from Mr. Kim. It had been a very formal and long one and I had soon lost hope of ever finishing it. My parents weren’t very good with big walls of text either –although they made an exception for Jay’s stories- and I could imagine them skipping most of the reading.
‘It could be possible that at least my parents fell for that but why would they make us live with a Korean boy band in the first place?’ I asked, because I couldn’t think of any normal reason for them doing that.
‘Their company is a sponsor of SM entertainment. Because my parents live in Holland half of the time they were asked to come up with foreigners for this program. They can make a lot of money out of this and when it involves money, my parents become blind. The contract your parents signed also involved the rule that the profits would go to them alone and not to us or our parents. SM entertainment will get most of it, of course but my parents will earn a lot of money from this as well. And then there is SHINee, too.’ Kate still didn’t dare to look at us but Jay, Anisha and especially I, glared daggers at the SHINee members.
KEY and Jonghyun put their arms in the air, a sign of defeat. ONEW looked shocked and Taemin did a step backwards from Anisha.
‘Hey now, we didn’t think you would be the victims of a sneaky contract. We thought that we would be staying with girls that had chosen for this.’ ONEW said. His accent was just as bad as Baek’s had been but his vocabulary was definitely better. It was the first time he even said something. His eyes were aimed directly at me. Maybe the reason for that was the fact that my eyes had an icy blue colour that could make me look intensely furious. The only thing I needed to do for that was frown and at that moment, I did a lot more than just frown.
‘That is what you’re saying, but with camera’s present, you can only say things that will make you look likeable anyway, isn’t that so?’
‘Eleonora, chill.’ Jay came to stand beside me and lightly touched my shoulder. I hated it when she used my full name.
‘Don’t worry, he is not that great at acting, you know. I am much better at it. Especially at lying but I have a handsome face, so most people just forgive me.’ Taemin said. Anisha giggled. I knew it! I really had to watch out for that guy. He was a sneaky one.
‘Hey! Does that mean that I am not handsome, huh?’
‘Yeah, it does.’ Said Jonghyun. I almost remarked something about nostrils but I held it in just in time. I didn’t agree with him though. If ONEW’s personality had been real, and if he hadn’t been an idol, I would’ve liked him a lot. He had a pointy nose for an Asian person. At least, I had never seen an Asian with such a nose before. Though the only Asian I knew was Kate, and she was a half Asian. His eyebrows were thick with a minimal arch but they were not the kind of thick eyebrows which made the owner look angry all the time. They gave his face a serious expression, an honest expression. I loved honest people, people like Anisha, Kate and Jay. Persons that didn’t turn their back on you halfway.
‘I don’t want to chill! How could this have happened? We should do something to prevent this!’ Jay sighed. Kate looked like she wanted to say something –she probably wanted to apologize again-but Jay beat her to it.
‘If you want to get into a major lawsuit I suggest you keep calm, Nora. Especially since this might be aired, too.’ I gulped and turned my stare at SHINee, an eyebrow raised questioningly.
‘She is right.’ Minho said. It was the first time the guy said anything and it would probably take a long time before he would talk again.
‘It’s live, too.’ Taemin said. I felt my face become bright red. It must have looked great with my hair.
‘You guys, this isn’t over yet but I don’t want to be half naked on television for a minute longer.’ ONEW looked relieved but the rest of SHINee looked a little disappointed. Though of course it was all fake anyway. Anisha giggled. Leave it to her to still be able to laugh in an emergency like this.

It was stupid to laugh, I know but I just couldn’t help myself. Eleonora could be so cute sometimes. Of course I was cuter, though.
‘About lawsuits, I have an idea! Why don’t we ask your parents to help us out, Jay? They’re lawyers.’ Jay sighed.
‘I don’t think that they can do anything right now. They’re super busy and SM is a large company. They can probably hire the crème de la crème.’ I moaned.

‘It doesn’t matter, Kate.’ Jay turned to KEY. I still couldn’t believe we were in the same space as the one and only SHINee. Gosh, they were all soooo hadsome! But Taemin was the most handsome, of course. I touched the place on my wrist were he had touched me. When SHINee had surprised us by suddenly appearing in our bedroom, Taemin immediately started talking to me. I wondered if he liked me. Nora surely didn’t think that way. Sometimes she could really me too strict. Though in some cases she really was a handy bodyguard.
‘KEY, what, besides you guys living with us, is the concept of the show we are currently in?’ KEY awkwardly avoided her eyes. Jonghyun began to laugh. I noticed he was the only one who did that. Though his laugh was enough to fill the room.
‘Quit laughing will ya! Just because you are the only one that doesn’t have to sleep with one of them-‘
‘EXCUSE ME?’ Kate, Jay and I yelled in unison. ONEW, that cute shy leader began to stare at the ground again. He sure had been livelier in other shows I had watched. Taemin smiled for some reason. I didn’t find this funny at all. I rather didn’t want to imagine what Nora would say if she would have been here.
‘It is an aspect of the show that we… sleep together. In one room and a couple in one bed, that exist out of a member out of SHINee and one of the foreign girls, that is you.’ No, it was mister Baek. Of course it was us, Jesus KEY.
‘Okay… from Korean show to Jersey Shore.’ I said shocked.
‘We just mean innocent sleep, not… other stuff.’ ONEW said embarrassed. Aaaw, he was so cute.
‘Dibs on KEY!’ Kate said unexpectedly. KEY nodded approvingly. ‘Finally someone with taste. The last time we asked a foreigner which one of us she preferred he said Taemin.’
‘Wait, so we have already agreed to participate in this?’ Jay said hesitantly.

‘Yes.’ Taemin turned a bit pale.
‘I don’t think there is anything we can do to stop this show. At least not right now, I am going to call my parents again but for now I want to stay with KEY because he is totally gay so nothing weird will happen.’
‘Gosh, why does everyone think I’m gay!’ KEY protested. Kate shrugged.
‘Because you act like a diva, like fashion and wear make-up.’
‘All members wear make-up.’ KEY pouted.
‘I wanted to make a rude remark but I won’t say it.’ Said Jay.
‘That means that we’re all gay.’ Jonghyun said. Taemin scoffed.
‘Exactly.’
‘Traitor.’ Said KEY.
‘Don’t worry KEY, everyone thinks I am a lesbian as well. So we have something in common!’ Oh that sneaky Kate. She had always said that KEY was her favourite member in SHINee and I had said to her that he liked tall girls and girls who had something in common with her. How I knew that? Well, as a good person without a live I had done all the “Who is your boyfriend in SHINee tests” that existed on the internet.
‘And… are you a lesbian?’ KEY said. Not without a worried tone in his voice.
‘You’ll see.’ Kate winked. KEY laughed.
‘O my god, Kate! Don’t start flirting already.’ Kate shrugged.
‘Why not? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Though I still haven’t forgiven my parents, of course. Besides, you have been flirting as well today.’ I frowned, though I was happy that Kate was again as weird as always.

‘I think she is talking about me, because I certainly have been flirting with you and I will make sure to do it again. As your friend said,’ he looked warningly at the other members, walked towards me and put his arm around my shoulder‘ dibs on Anisha!’

Though I wasn’t really sure if it would be safe to ‘sleep with him’ gosh, it sounded so wrong. Lee Taemin, according to the internet, was kind of a perv. At least he had been reading that gross manga. What was it called again? Ping Pong Club?
‘Why doesn’t Jonghyun have to ehm.. sleep with anyone?’

A nuclear bomb – I mean, Nora-had entered the bedroom again. She was now dressed in a sweatshirt with a spade on it and a sweatpants

‘Please contain yourself. I know this situation is not in your favourbut nothing will be solved by violence. I will make sure that Taemin won’t do anything funny and I’ll make sure you won’t do anything dangerous either. Since it is a habit now: dibs on Eleonora.’ Oh, he shouldn’t have said that.
‘What did you call me?’ It was silent in the room.
‘Eleonora?’ ONEW repeated. He strengthened his grip around her body but to no avail. That poor guy. Nora’s foot went straight to his jawline.
