I invited Adriana, Julie and Tanya to come with me to the concert, and because I had an extra ticket, I brought my sister along. She likes to listen to k-pop, but she doesn’t fancy concerts.
“It gets hot too easily and everyone is dancing and sweating and touching each other and its just really really gross.” She complained.
In the end, my mum and dad told her it would be a ‘good experience’ to go to a concert with your sister. I dressed up in simple black skinny jeans, a grey t-shirt and a black jumper with a white ROVIX on it which I made myself. Cindy on the other hand, was flashier than me; she wore a vintage floral skirt with a white strapless crop top and had an oversized denim jacket draped over her arm.
“Since when did you become so girly fashion wise?” I asked.
“Since when did you – oh wait, you’ve always looked like a hobo.” Cindy teased. “Let’s go.”
We said bye to our dad who was staying home while our mum was going to drive us, but I remembered something. “Just wait two seconds.” I said. I ran to my room and searched in my jewelry box. I held up Leo’s necklace and smile as I thought of him. I put it on and left.

As soon as VIXX stepped on stage, everyone started screaming their heads off. Cindy gave me a look that told me she was going to kill me after the concert. During the concert though, she looked like she was having the time of her life, jumping, dancing, singing to the VIXX songs. Someone grabbed my waist and I turned around, shocked, but I instantly smiled when I saw who it was. “Vanessa!” I tried to shout over the loud music. She screwed her face. I leaned in close to her and shouted. “Fancy meeting you here.” I said. She smiled. Next to her I saw Hyorin and Hyun. I leaned into her again, “I didn’t think Hyun was the type to go to concerts.” I said. “He’s as much as a spastic fan as I am.” Vanessa laughed. I didn’t see Yijung with them, and I wasn’t hoping to see him any time soon. I didn’t need to worry about him tonight.

They just finished performing their latest song “Eternity” which meant the concert was close to being over. They were all speaking to the audience, telling us about how much they appreciate us and how they wouldn’t be here without us. They were explaining their plans about the world tour and how they wouldn’t be back until a long time.
“I have one last thing to say.” Said Leo. All the VIXX members looked at him. Someone tapped me on the shoulder, when I turned around it was three security guards. All my friends and Cindy looked at me with concern. What was happening? I could fight back, but I didn’t want to interrupt Leo’s speech. Anyways, they wouldn’t try anything in this crowd.
“There is someone out there in this audience who means a lot to me.” Leo continued. The crowd “aw”ed.
“And I don’t want to leave them behind, but unfortunately the tour must go on.”
The security guards dragged me up the stairs on the side of the stage and held on to my arms so I wouldn’t leave. A woman walked by us holding a bouquet of roses and handed them to Leo who was in the spotlight.
“So I have one thing to ask this person.” Leo said. The crowed started to murmur with excitement. Leo held out his hand towards me and I was pushed onto the stage. I clumsily stumbled onto the stage and awkwardly looked at the massive crowd who was watching me. Oh no. This was the most embarrassing thing in my life.
“Melinda.” Leo said. I turned my attention to him, and his hand was still out. I walked over to him and took his hand. He handed the bouquet to me and asked; “Will you be my girlfriend?”

“YOU WERE JUST ASKED OUT BY AN IDOL IN FRONT OF I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE, A BILLION PEOPLE?” Vanessa shouted excitedly.
“Definitely not a billion.” I laughed.
“OH MY GOD I DIDN’T KNOW YOU AND LEO…OH MY GOD. IS THAT WHO WAS WITH YOU ON THE CRUISE?” She shouted.
“Yes, now can you please stop shouting.” I laughed.
While I was waiting for my mum to pick Cindy and I up, people from the audience were coming to congratulate me now that I was Leo girlfriend. “Wow she’s so young.” They would whisper. “Is he out of her league?” Some of their comments made me doubt myself, but it didn’t matter, because I was just confessed to in front of a large audience. Vanessa and I exchanged numbers so we could arrange to meet up next time. Now I had her and her brother’s number.

As soon as Cindy and I sat in the car Cindy just told my mum about everything that happened. My mum almost swerved the car when she heard I now had a boyfriend.
“What did you want me to do? Reject him in front of all those people? The whole country would want my head!” I said.
“I’m so happy for you!” my mum laughed.
“What?” Cindy and I said in unison.
“You’ve finally got another man after that other boy. That other boy was very cute though…”
“So you’re fine with Melinda having a boyfriend?” Cindy asked urgently.
“Yes I am.”
“Would you be fine if I had one?”
“…Yes…”
“Why did you hesitate?”
“I didn’t hesitate.”
“OK then, well mum, I have a boyfriend.”
My mum screamed with joy. “Two boyfriend news in one night! This is such a happy day for me!” she squealed.
