My Kpop Idol Boyfriend

Chapter 38: Meeting Dad's New Family

The atmosphere was really awkward. _________ never expected seeing her dad again after her parent’s divorce. He told them that he hoped to never see her or her mother again. It was still fresh in her memory.
~Flashback~
The 13 year old _________ walked into her house with a really big smile after having a great day in acting class. She was going to be the lead role in “The Wizard of Oz”. She was excited to tell her parents about this but something stopped her from ever telling.

“How can you say that about your own daughter?!” She heard her mom yelling. The young girl found her parents fighting in the living room. She saw that her dad had two large suitcases next to him.

“As if I care! The little brat has been using up my money for those stupid classes! An actress?! Hah! Hollywood is for the glamorous, not lowlifes like her!” ________ started tearing up and sniffling. The two adults looked at her and her mom’s eyes widened. The mother ran to her daughter and hugged her tightly and turned her head to her EX-husband.

“Get out of my house! And never come back! We don’t need you anymore!” The father scoffed. He picked up his things and headed for the door.

“Whatever. I hope I never see you people ever again in my life!” With that he left, slamming the door. ________ looked at her mother and started tearing up. Her mother felt so guilty for having her daughter go through that. The mother started crying holding _______ tightly, repeating ‘sorry’ over and over again. =’(
~Flashback~
Six years later here they both stand, right in front of each other. ________ just looks at her father who she hasn’t seen in years and wonders why he is here all of a sudden. Did he want to apologize? Is he in need of money? Does he want to be in her life again? These questions were piling up in her mind until she was awaken from her thoughts. She looked over to see that Taemin was still there. He had a worried look on his face.

“Are you okay? Is that guy your real father?” Taemin asked. She nodded for both questions. She glanced at her father who looked a bit impatient from standing there and turned back to Taemin.

“Taeminah, do you mind waiting in my room? I want to speak to my father in private.” Taemin nodded and gave her a small smile. He walked away without making eye contact with her father. ______’s father looked at Taemin for a bit before paying attention to his daughter.

“Please sit.” ______ said in monotone. They both sat down at the table face to face. No one smiling, just looking at each other with expressionless faces. After a few minutes, someone finally spoke.

“So that’s the boyfriend I have heard about. He seems alright. How’d you two meet? Let me guess, your new sister Tiffany set you up. Makes sense since they are in the same company.” James (________’s father’ name) said chuckling a little. ________ didn’t laugh and just looked at her father.

“Just get straight to the point and answer my question. Why are you here all of a sudden? I thought you never wanted to see me or mom ever again.” ________ said angrily. James looked at his daughter and smirked.

“Look at you. I guess you grew some balls after all these years, huh kid? Talking to your father in that manner.” ________ balled her fists under the table.

“Answer. My. Question.” ________ was getting impatient. Her father frowned for a minute and leaned forward, putting his arms on the table.

“I’m getting married and my new kids want to meet their new sister.” He told her. ________ looked at him with disbelief. She's getting new siblings. Oh great.
~Outside the Dining Room~

“Krystal shut up. I can’t hear.” Jessica whispered to her sister, annoyed. Tiffany, Jessica, and Krystal were close to dining room to hear what was going on with _________ and her dad and report to the others. (Hehe, nosy people)

“Sorry but I can’t hear very well from here.” Krystal said. Jessica was about to say something until Tiffany shushed them.

“You two just go back upstairs. I can do this on my own. Go on. Shoo.” Tiffany said not looking at them. The Jung sisters glared at each other as they walked upstairs back to the others. Tiffany was worried about her sister as she kept listening to the conversation.

“N-new kids? Y-you’re getting re-married? To who?” She heard “_________ ask nervously.

“You remember that girl who you called your worst enemy when you were 8? Her mom is going to be your new stepmom.” ________’s eyebrows pulled together until she gasped.
~Your P.O.V. ~
“Oh my god……. You’re marrying Joy Martinez’s mom?” I asked. I couldn’t believe this. Joy Martinez was the cruelest bitch alive. I couldn’t stand her at all. We were always competitive towards each other in everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. From school attendance, to sports, to academics, to being most popular, etc. The bitch would just try to beat me at everything! She even revealed to the fifth grade who I had a crush on. She always embarrassed me! Now I have to deal with her being my new family? Hell no! I am NOT going to the wedding!! I stood up and slammed my hands on the table.

“I AM NOT GOING TO MEET THAT BITCH AND HER FAMILY AND THERE’S NO WAY YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE ME!!!!”I yelled furiously. My father didn’t even budge. He just smirked and stood up also.

“Too bad kiddo. They’re already in the car, dying to meet you. And guess what? I called your mom and she agreed to let them meet you. How awesome is that? Be right back. Hopefully that Tiffany girl will be here.” He said.

“I’m already here. Hi, I’m Tiffany. _______’s sister.” Tiffany said, slightly bowing. She put on a fake smile and put out her hand for my dad to shake. James shook her hand and chuckled.

“I hope you don’t mind meeting the family.” James said. Tiffany kept her smile.

“Of course not. Bring them in. I’ll tell the maids to make us something.” She said. James nodded and headed out to get them. I looked at Tiffany as she frowned and walked over to me. She looked at me and gave me a hug. I hugged her back.

“Tiff, what am I going to do? I can’t face that girl again.” ________ said sadly. Tiffany let go from the hug and looked into her sister’s eyes.

“Yes, you can. You can prove to that Joy girl that you are waaayyy better than she is. I mean, you’re already becoming one of Korea’s best rookie actresses. You got an extremely cute boyfriend who is completely heads over heels for you. You have your two best friends by your side. You have many famous idols as friends. A gigantic fan website with thousands of people who love you. And best of all, an unnie who couldn’t want anything more than you as her beautiful little sister. Is that enough for you to prove yourself?” Tiffany smiled at me and I smiled back. I nodded and we hugged once more.

“Okay. Stay here. I need to tell the maids to prepare dinner for our new ‘family’”. Tiffany went to kitchen while I just stood there. I can do this. I am better. I AM better than Joy. I smiled with confidence and waited for ‘them’ to come. While I waited, I got a text. It was from Krystal.

From: Loud Mouth

To: Bestie

‘Tiffany told us we have to wait in your room until dinner is over. We’re hungry! We can’t just wait in you guys’ rooms with empty stomachs! Send us some food woman!’
I bit my lip. I should tell the maids to sneak some food for the others. I texted Krystal back telling her to wait a while. As I was about to go to the kitchen, the door bell rang. It’s them. I walk (mostly jogged) to the door. I kind of hesitated a bit. I looked in the mirror before opening. Yes! I have makeup on. That boosts up my self-esteem a bit. I grabbed the handle and opened the door. I regretted a bit. Standing in front of me wasn’t just two Joy and another kid, but FOUR other kids. I recognized Joy even with all that makeup in her face. I also saw two boys who looked a few years younger. Then two girls who were probably in their early teen years. I was a bit surprised to how the mom looked. I can tell from a first look that she got some work done. I cleared my throat a bit before speaking.

“Is she mute or what? It’s freezing right now and she’s just standing there like an idiot.” One of the boys who had light brown hair said, a bit annoyed. I scoffed and stepped aside.

“Come in.” They walked in but didn’t even take off their shoes. I looked at them as if they were crazy. At least know some custom things when coming into a house in Korea.

“Shoes off in the house.” I told them. They looked at me as if I was some type of alien before taking their shoes off and leaving them in the middle of the floor. I just shook my head in annoyance and kicked their shoes to the little place for our shoes. I walked in the living room to see all my new “brothers and sisters” on their phones with bored expressions.
‘Why’d you even come anyway?’ I said in my thoughts. I just stood there quietly, waiting for Tiffany to hurry up and come. Thankfully she did.

“Dinner is almost ready.” She told me. I gave her a small smile. She turned to everyone and fakes a smile.

“Please follow me to the dining room.” She linked arms with me as we walked to the eating area with everyone else following. I told her about Krystal’s text and she said it was under control. Soon we were all seated in the dining room, eating appetizer’s which was just dukkbokki. I didn’t really think of it as an appetizer but whatever. Me and Tiffany were eating, everyone else just stared at their plates. One of the younger girls with brown hair poked at the food with disgust written on her face. The other with black hair just blinked at the unfamiliar food.

“What is this?” Maria (Joy’s mom) asked.

“Dukkbokki. It’s spicy red rice cakes.” I explained before taking another bite. Maria gave me a weird look before picking up a piece with her fork and examining it before taking a bite. We all looked at her, waiting for her reaction. She chewed and chewed before coughing. James patted her back and handed her some water. I rolled my eyes. It’s not even that spicy.

“Gross. I don’t like it.” Maria pushed her plate away. One of the boys who had darker hair grabbed it and dumped the food on to his plate which was halfway done.

“If you don’t want it, I’ll eat it then. This stuff is ssssooooo good.” He said giving me two thumbs up before returning to his meal. I smiled a bit. At least there’s a nice one in the family. Joy looked at me up and down as if she was trying to look for something. Then she crossed her arms across her chest and looked straight at me.

“So _________, still trying to become an actress? It must been really hard to get a part. I don’t mean to brag or anything but I had some luck getting into main roles for music videos. And guess what? I just signed a contract deal to be in a movie. With Johnny Depp.” She smirked as if she one. I just died a little. I always wanted to be in a Johnny Depp movie. Not fair. But I can’t let her win. I just put on a brave face and smiled.

“Congrats on that. Well, I wish I could get that part but I just started acting on a drama. It’s really hard to find good scripts, even though so many are being sent to me to act in shows and such. Thankfully my first drama is good. Really good, to be one of the most watched dramas in Korea. It’s really been boosting up my fan base too. You know what that is right? When thousands of people create a website just show how much they love their favorite celebrity. Especially someone who has been nominated for four different awards, endorses ten different companies throughout Asia, AND has an extremely gorgeous singer for a boyfriend. But other than that, I wish you the best.” I gave her the fakest smile I have. She just looked pissed off and ready to kick my ass. I just sat there satisfied. Everyone was quiet.

“Wow Joy. She just whooped your ass right there.” The dark hair boy said. He winked at me, giving me another thumbs up. I just chuckled. I looked at Tiffany and she gave a proud smile.

“Shut up Josh. Like you should talk. I see why modeling agencies aren’t accepting you. Pigging out on food like that crap. How disgusting.” The brown haired girl said with an annoying voice. I couldn’t believe that she would say that to her own brother. I looked at Josh who just stared down at his plate. I felt really bad for him. I was about to say something but the Maria opened her mouth.
“Are you crying? For crying out loud Josh! Man up for once! You’re the most pathetic 16 year old I’ve ever seen. Maybe I should’ve left you with your good-for-nothing father.” Maria said all bitchy. Me and Tiffany looked at each other, not believing what we were hearing in our house. They were all bullying him. I looked at the dark haired girl and the other guy, they were looking around the house, not wanting to get involved. James just had his head his hands. Some father he is. I got up from my seat and went straight towards Josh. He looked at me with teary eyes.

“Don’t go home with them. You’re staying here for the rest of your stay. I’ll send someone for your stuff. Go to the bathroom and clean your face. It’s not a request, it’s an order. Go.” I told him calmly. He stood up and went to the bathroom. Tiffany went with him. I looked at everyone else.

“Get out. I don’t want disgusting ass people in my house. So get out before I throw you out.” I said in a cold voice. Maria came up to me and squinted her eyes at me.

“Please little girl. It’s 6 against 1. You can’t throw us all---------“I grabbed her hair hard and threw her to the floor, still gripping her hair. She yelled and screamed for me to let go but I ignored her. I dragged her to the door, opened the door, and literally threw her out on the porch. I closed the door and went back to the dining room. They all looked at me surprised and sacredly.

“Who wants to be next?” I asked coldly. They all got out of the dining room, hurriedly grabbed their shoes and ran to the car without saying a word. James was the only one who didn’t budge. He slowly rose from his seat, walked up to me, and looked at me. I was expecting him to hit me, yell at me, or even threaten me. But he didn’t. Instead he just patted my shoulder and walked to the door. I watched as he slipped on his shoes and opened the door. Before he exited he looked at me and said the words I always wanted to hear.

“I’m sorry .”
