Coffee Shop Love

Final

Your POV
I walk up on the stage with my acoustic guitar and my friend with her bongos.
“Hi, it’s nice to see you all today. As some of you regulars may know my name is Acacia and this is Dahlia.”
Slowly we start singing and I notice a small group of guys drinking some coffee watching us, how cute they may be, and how they still have their sunglasses on. Still I guess they are sitting by the window and it’s pretty bright out.
Soon we end the song in half an hour and we stop playing for our time is up with our last song.
Dahlia picks up her bongos and I stand up carefully securing my guitar in my hands.
Walking over to our table I open my guitar case and place my guitar inside. I make sure it’s in properly before I close the case.
Dahlia is standing by my side laughing at me, “You treat that guitar better than you treat me your best friend.”
I stick my tongue at her realizing how thirsting I am and how I had drank my entire water bottle.
I look up to the 3 guys from before had stayed the entire time, but I guess so did a lot of people.
I decide I'll just get something well I'm here.
I pick up my guitar case not wanting to leave it there unwatched.
I walk up to the counter, "Hi, Jewels nice to see you today. I'll have my regular drink."
She nods her head as she turns around to get my drink ready for me.
When she's finished she just hands me my drink not telling me how much I owe.
"Jewels what I owe you?"
"Oh, Sam from that table," she points to the 3 guy table I kept looking at, "said he'd pay for drink if you came up for one."
I smile as I take a drink, "I guess it's a goo thing I stayed here to get a drink."
She laughs as I leave her at her station to deal with her next customer.
I balance my guitar in one hand as I walk over to the 3 guy table.
When I reach it I smile politely and ask, "Hi, which one of you is Sam?"
Two of the guys point to a guy who looks pretty hot with a strong jaw, blonde hair that’s covered in a fedora covering most of it, and when he slipped his sunglasses off I notice he has really nice brown eyes.
He lifts his hand like a dork, “I’m Sam,” he says in a smooth tone of voice.
“Hi, I’m ___ and I just wanted to thank you for the drink.”
He shakes his head while he smiles up at me, “It’s nothing a singer has to take care of herself to keep on singing.”
“Still thank you it was very thoughtful.”
He smiles at me still and shrugs his shoulders, “it was nothing singing to another one.”
I look at him surprised, “You sing, too?”
They share a look between each other as he nods his head.
I smile as I take his hand in mine over the table and say to him, “You should play with us sometime all of you. I think it would really be fun.”
They nod their heads and my phone starts to ring a soft ballad.
I look at them with a sorry face and answered it.
I wince as my mother screams at me through the phone about this and that.
When I hang up I simply sigh and look at them, "Sorry you had to hear that."
Sam shakes his head, "who was that?"
"My mother she doesn't know I play here on my free time. She'd flip out."
"Why hide a passion for music to perform?"
I shrug, "I don't care for music."
They look at me not buying what I had just told them.
“You don't’ care for music but you risk to come here every day and sing.”
I look away from them and smile slightly, “So you come here often?”
They chuckle, “Of course we love listening to other’s singing.”
“I wonder why I haven’t noticed you before?”
“We usually come in when you are finishing up,” one of the other two says to me.
I pout, “So why come in early?”
They point to Sam, “He wanted to hear you sing.”
I smile as I giggle a bit, “Well I can’t wait to hear your singing voices.”
I turn on my heel and rush out of the coffee shop hoping that they’ll show up another day while I’m playing.
I’m walking into the coffee shop a week after I met Sam and his friends to see them in their spot.
They wave to me and slowly I watch how they stand up and walk over to me.
“Do you mind if we play with you today?”
I shake my head, “Sure, still manager told me that I’d be playing with a band named Lunafly.”
“That’s us,” one of the younger guys tell me.
“Really? I’m sorry I didn’t notice only classical music is allowed in my parents home. They find all other gnres loud and annoying."
“How can they say that?”
I shrug my shoulders as I sit down on stage and soon they walk up with me, “Hi, everyone I’m Acacia and this is Lunafly.”
We start to play songs and I have to say it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I learned the two younger ones’ name and which was which... Okay it wasn’t that hard.
Yun looks at me and smiles, “Noona, you should try to get into our company.”
I look at him, “I’m not sure I can.”
“Oh come on you are awesome at singing you know how to play guitar, piano, and drums.”
“I hardly do.”
I would have kept up at that until I saw my parents through the window.
“___-ah, are you okay?”
I shake my head as I hide behind the sound system making sure my parents can’t see me.
“Why are you hiding?”
“I don't’ want my parents to see me. Don’t look this way just talk amongst yourselves.”
“Why are you jumpy about your parents?”
"They are way too protective and try to control every aspect of my life since my twin died.”
“You had a twin?”
I nod my head, “Yeah my brother he was born only a few minutes before me and he made it so I’d never forget about it. He was a trainee at SM until 4 years ago he died in an accident. My parents blamed his love for music and banned it from the house.”
“That’s harsh,” Sam whispers.
I nod my head, “I know I’m 23 years old and I have to worry about what my parents have to say about everything I do. They won’t even let me move out.”
“What if we made them understand your passion?”
“Good luck,” I tell them, “I’m going to be singing later tonight are you guys coming?”
“Yeah no way are we going to miss it.”
I smile at them, “Alright, I’m heading off to finish my classes for today.”
“What classes?”
“I’m studying at a college nearby to be a nurse.”
“Who chose that for you?” Sam asks me.
I point to myself, “I chose it for myself.”
“Then pick what you want to do and live your life. Your parents should just support you,” Sam tells me bluntly, “Look Acacia you got talent use it. I’m sure you can live out whatever dream you have.”
“I don't’ have one,” I tell him seeing Yun and Teo walk away from us.
Sam smiles at me, “Then now is a good time to think of what your dream is and what you really want to do with your life.”
Dahlia and I are setting up the equipment for our small show that’s one of our bigger ones since the manager invited music scouts out at the cafe.
I remember what the guys told me and walk up on stage.
Tonight the cafe is beyond busy.
"Hi, everyone how are you today?”
I hear the crowd shout and my heart shouts in joy in hearing them.
“Alright I’m Acacia and this is my friend Dahlia, but we are also known as Jihu’s Memory and before we start I want to tell you a story.”
It’s silent I start, “I’m from a small family all I had growing up is my brother and parents. I spent most of my childhood hiding my musical talent wanting my twin brother to shine since I was the one that always got some kind of attention. He had amazing grades and great musical talent yet my parents probably didn't know he existed until he told them he was going to become a trainee at SM Entertainment. They noticed him then shun him, but I know that secretly my parents loved my brother. They just didn’t want to lose him.” I stop to calm myself down, “Sorry, it still hurts a bit to talk about him. To tell you I didn’t understand his love for music, but when he died music was all I had left of him and I want to complete his dream, but I also want to save people.”
Dahlia decides to talk, “I had dated her brother up until he died. I was always jealous of his talent and when I told him that he taught me how to play the drums and piano. Still it did not match the talent that the twins had. I think they would have been a wonderful band together. So Ji Hu we miss you.”
“This first song is by Lunafly who I got a chance to play with earlier today. I dedicate this song to my parents and my brother. This is Lunafly’s Super Hero.
We start to sing and play our instruments I feel a strong feeling in my chest one of love and happiness.
I soon find Sam in the crowd right away I smile brightly as I sing songs for a good 20 minutes and I realize our time is ending.
“Alright I have one more song and I dedicate this to my brother. It’s called Come Back to Me by a great singer named Bii. I also want to dedicate this to my parents and how I want the parents who loved their children letting them choose for themselves living their own lives.”
As we finish up the song I watch people shouting our names and shouting for more.
“I’m sorry but that’s all we have for today. Thank you so much for coming today.”
I walk off the stage and over to my table with my guitar case to see Sam, Leo, and Yun standing there.
"Now these videos will look nice on my twitter. ____ do you have one?”
I nod and hand him my phone to show him one from the picture I took with him just earlier today.
“You recorded all of that?”
He nods as he seems to smile, “I live streamed this on our youtube account. Luckily your friend told us the link to yours. She had given us full reign over your account to live stream all of this.”
I sigh, “I’ll kill Dahlia later after I change our accounts password.”
I look up to see my parents and how mad they look, “Omma Appa when did you get here?”
“We were here the entire time.”
I watch as tears appear in my mother’s face as she rushes to pull me into her arms, “I’m so proud of you. I’m sorry I ruined your passion. Sweetie you were amazing. Ji Hoo would have been so proud of you. Now I bet he is watching over his baby sister's shoulder.”
“Omma, he was only a few minutes over than me.”
She smiles brightly as my father glares at me, “I lost my son to this and I’m going to lose my daughter.”
“Appa, I love music. I want to try a career in it, but I still want my nursing license.”
He nods his head, “Alright, with Carter-ssi looks after you.”
"What? Appa,” I whine, “Why do you say that?”
"He cared about you enough to bring us here and talk to us to make it so we would sit through the entire thing. ___, I want him as a son-in-law.”
I hear Yun and Teo drop down on the ground laughing.
Sam lifts an eyebrow, “So your name is ___. It’s pretty, but I almost like Acacia better."
I smile as I look at him, “Oh why is that?”
Before there’s anymore teasing a scout from Nega Network walks up to me asking if I would like to possibly debut sometime this year.
“I’d love that, “but can I finish my nursing license. I just have this semester than I’m a certified nurse.”
“Of course, please come by the company headquarters Monday and we'll draw up a contract.”
I look at Sam waiting for the man to be far enough before I quietly squeal and jump into Sam’s arms.
“OMG, thank you so much Sam.”
He shakes his head, “It was nothing.”
"Still this is amazing sam I'm not sure how I'll ever repay you."
He flashes me a smile, "Go on a date with me."
I laugh, "Sure, I'd love that."
It’s been a few months since I debuted and a year since I met Lunafly and 9 months and Sam and I started to date.
It’s cute how he asked me out. We were doing our first collaboration concert together and he asked me right before we got on stage.
I think that’s also a day i got more __sam fans and anti fans.
Not that I care since Sam will protect me.
I watch as Sam laughs at me as i make funny faces at him.
He pulls me down onto his lap causing me to giggle, “Sam, Yun and Teo are right outside. We need to get out to them.”
“They can wait a minutes,” he mumbles as he pulls my head over to him so he can kiss me.
I giggle at him as I kiss him again and pull away, “sam we need to go to the company. We’re playing at the cafe tonight.”
“Not that I could forget.”
We’re setting everything up and I watch as Teo and Dahlia close in together.
I lean over to Sam and whisper, “I think they like each other. Bet they will date.”
“They already are,” Sam tells me.
‘What when?”
“He drew up the courage to ask her out last night. They have a date for tomorrow.’
I smile at Dahlia, “I’m glad she’s moving on.”
He nods his head as we’re finished and we sit down on our seats.
I see my parents in the back and soon the boys are singing Marry You by Bruno Mars.
I laugh but soon i stop as Sam stands up and walks up to the front of me slowly getting down on one knee as the song ends.
I watch as the Teo, Yun, and Dahlia stand up and hold up their bongos and guitar and I read it as it says, “Will you Marry Me?”
I feel tears fall down my face, “of course. I’ll marry you. I'll Marry you, Sam Carter.”
He smiles as he slips the ring on my finger.
He stands up to pull me into a sweet kiss nothing to much for show, “Thank you.”
“Why?”
“for making me one of the happiest man alive.”
I chuckle as I kiss him again, “I should be saying thank you, Sam Carter.”
I lean forward pushing my mic away whispering in Sam’s ear making sure he’s the only one that can hear me, “Let’s save all of this for when we get home.”
he chuckles, “of course.’
We turn towards his bandmates and friends and my friend Dahlia, “I guess I already have a bridesmaid, but what will I do with the rest.”
She laughs as she runs up giving me a huge hug, “I’m so happy for you, but do you know how hard it was to set up the cafe to look like it does.”
I chuckle as I look around the cafe seeing it covered in red, white, and pink banners. Littering the floor are rose petals and on each table is a nice romantic, but if you look closely electric candle.
I smile as everyone comes up to me and hugs me.
I look at sam and chuckle, “I should have known. We haven’t been here since the day after you asked me out.”
He shrugs, “What can I say I wanted this to be special and I noticed that as well.”
“Also let me guess recorded, youtubed, and tweeted.”
“Not just by us, but this was live streamed, but I used this for our channel. Now everyone knows the happy news.”
We had left the cafe and I smile as I take Sam’s hand in my own causing him to look me in the eye.
“Yes?”
I lean forward as I whisper to him wrapping my arms around his neck, “I love you Sam Cater.”
“I love you, too.”
I can’t believe such a Coffee Shop, Cafe, would have changed my life twice in my lifetime.
I hope that it keeps bringing me such good news.
