Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between

Not much has changed

*MYUNGSOOS POV* I stepped out of my home and instantly heard the bus pull up at its stop on the road above the tunnel. I checked my watch; 6:25. There was only five minutes till the bus left. I shoved my hands into my pocket. 'Aish. They better hurry up. We can't be late on our first day of school'. I checked my watch again. 6:26-- 4 minutes. Just then, I seen a figure walk out of the neighborhood across of mine. I hid behind the wall and studied the girl. She was fidgeting with her phone. She stopped walking and closed her eyes, letting the breeze hit her. She opened her eyes again and walked into the bus. She hasn't changed much in six years. Of course, she was taller and more matured looking. But her features haven't really changed. I could tell she still straightens her hair.
"I've missed you Minji-ah" I softly whispered and smiled to myself.
"What're you looking at?" A voice suddenly asked next to me, causing me to jump.
"Yah! You guys take so long. We can't be late on our first day back!" I scolded
"Hyung, I woke up late. Mianhe" the maknae apologized.
"You still didn't answer my question" woo hyun scowled.
"Nothing." I said and looked at my watch. My eyes widened
"We only have one minute to get onto the bus, Pali pali!" I yelled.
The seven of us ran and made it right before the bus pulled away from the curb. After stepping on, I apologized, bowed, and frantically searched for her. I spotted her in the seat two rows away from the very back. She was sitting alone. I decided to approach her.

MINJIS POV*
"Hyung, you can't steal a girls sandwich!" The boy in the row infront of us turned and said. I knew him. Sungjong. I looked around me and realized the six other boys sitting in the seats in back, front, and next to where me and myungsoo was sitting. My heart pumped when I realized; infinite was going to MY highschool. Along with myungsoo.
"Yah, she's my best friend. She doesn't mind." Myungsoo casually replied and took another bite of my sandwich.
"Ahh, she must be min ji." The leader snapped his fingers, proud in succeeding to fit the puzzle pieces.
"A-anyounghaseyo." I slightly bowed. It was hard to do a formal bow on a compacted seat. Myungsoo chuckled.
"You don't have to be formal with them. They're only a years older than you"
"Minji-ah, let's be close friends okay?" Dongwoo smiled brightly at me. I couldn't help but smile back. On our way to school, we continued to talk, and I have to say; they sure do live up to their reputation. But they're all very warm and fun.
The bus pulled up to the school, then we hopped off. We continued to hold our conversation as I lead them to the office to pick up their schedule. I waited for them outside of the office. When they finally came out of th office we compared schedules.
I had myungsoo, Hoya in my homeroom. My first period was chemistry with just Hoya. My second period was trigonometry with woohyun, sunggyu and dongwoo. My third period, I was at Teachers assistant for Sungjong's English class. My fourth period was GT history with only myungsoo. My fifth period was English with only sungyeol. And my sixth period was my drama class with all of infinite.
"Wah, Minji-ah, I can't believe you're taking a senior math class." Woohyun said, amazed. "Wanna tutor me?" He winked.
"Ai, so greasy." They all scowled. I just chuckled. The first bell rang, signaling the beginning of school.
I walked into homeroom, and the two boys slowly followed behind. Once they entered, all the girls began screaming. I casually took my seat and shook my heads. The two boys introduced themselves and took the empty seats surrounding me.
"Yah, why aren't there more guys in this class." Myungsoo whined.
"Myungsoo, stop complaining."
"Hey, I'm L now. L, L, L."
"I can call you myungsoo if I want to." I countered and stuck out my tongue. Sungyeol began jumping in his seat.
"Sungyeol, keep still!" Hoya scolded. We continued chatting since the teacher didn't assign anything. Soon enough, the bell rang, and me and Hoya walked to our first period together. It was easy to talk, since we both had an understanding about sports. Him in taekwando, me in soccer.
"... I had this huge bruise on my hip and my whole body was sore. After that tournament, I quit." Hoya finished explaining. I nodded my head in understanding, then we entered the class. I continued to walk to my seat when I realized Hoya stood next to the door. I walked back to him.
"Yah, take a seat." I said, pointing to the class.
"I'm scared to sit around other people. What if the girls won't stop touching me?" He whined.
"Aish, just sit next to me." I tugged his arm and lead him to the seat next to mine. The teacher walked in and announced that we were doing a lab. I chose Hoya as my partner, since I none of my other friends were in this class. We put on the safety goggle and laughed at each other. I took out my phone and we took pictures of ourselves. It was quite entertaining.
Right from the start of our lab, Hoya almost dropped the beaker. Twice.
"I'll handle the beakers. You take down observations." We agreed. When the class ended, we separated ways. Before I could even enter the class, I could identify the boys voices already. This period was gonna be a loud one.

Finally, it was lunch.
" I don't want to go eat school lunch. The cafeteria is going to be crowded with all the students. I don't want to face the girls." Sunggyu complained. Man, they have a lot of things they don't like.
"Let's just go eat somewhere close." Hoya suggested.
"There's a area right down the street, there's a bunch of food places there." I informed.
"I want pizza." Sungjong said,
"Pizza, pizza, pizza, pizza." Sungyeol and Sungjong chanted.
"Arasso, arasso, just stop being so loud." Myungsoo agreed, shoving his hand into his pocket. It seemed to be a habit he picked up over the years.

MYUNGSOOS POV
We all followed Minji as she lead the way. The sun came out from behind the clouds and the sunlight hit her perfectly. That's when I realized-- her regular black hair were colored a light brown at the ends of her hair. It looked really pretty. As I thought about it, I realized how much more... Girly she has gotten. It wasn't a noticeable girly, but she was definitely not how she was back in fifth grade. We finally arrived at the pizza place, and a feeling of nostalgia hit me, as I remembered that day I told her about me leaving. I wonder if she felt this way too. We all sat, trying to decide what pizza to get. Minji continued to argue about ordering pepperoni. It's nice to know her preferences haven't really changed. In the end, we ate pepperoni. After that, we went back to school and I passed by really quickly.
As we finished a practice skit in our last period, the final bell rang and we all packed up. We all hopped onto the bus, and we soon arrived home. Minji walked ahead of me, taking quick steps.
"Minji-ah. Lets hang out at the park today." I shouted for her to hear.
"Sorry oppa, I have practice."
"Just skip it!" I tried persuading.
"I can't this time. Mianhe, Oppa. What about tomorrow?"
"Arasso, tomorrow then." I smiled, a little disappointed.
"Okay, see you tomorrow then!" She smiled to me and waved. I waved back, then she turned around and jogged home.
I went home, ran up to my room, and threw myself on my bed.
'It's great to be home. Despite all the changes, you're still the same person." I smiled to myself and closed my eyes.
