No Way Out

Chapter 1

"Can I get you anything miss?" I heard a high pitched voice asked from beside me. I looked up, pointed to a regular extra foamed cup of brown coffee. She nodded in understanding, and scurried off back from where she came from. "Hey, have you been to SM Entertainment yet?" Bri asked me, glancing up from the menu in front of her. I sighed, and shook my head. "No, but I'm on my way. Why ask?" I asked her, and brushed a brown curly strand from my face. She scrunched up her nose, and opened her mouth to reply back, but a cup of extra foamed coffee set down in front of me cutting her off. I smiled, looked up at the waitress, and nodded. "Kamsamnida." She eye smiled, bowed, and left off to serve the other customers. Bri let out a breath of frustration, and set the menu down flat on the round table. I took a small sip of the coffee, and smiled at the delicious taste of it. "So tell me why you want to work at SM again?" Bri murmured under her breath as she rested her chin on her palm. I set my coffee down, and let out a breath. "For the fifth time Bri, I happen to enjoy doing hair. I've always have, you know that," I replied, and reached for my coffee again, but a hand on my wrist stopped that from happening. "But idols are there. And your favorite band is SHINee. How-" I gently removed her hand from my wrist, and took my coffee. "I'm a big girl. I can handle myself." She looked off to the side. "I was kind of worried about them instead..." She mumbled. My eyes narrowed at her playfully. "What was that?" She looked back at me, and waved it off. "Nothing, nothing. So," She fixed her posture, and smiled. "What are you going to do about Christian?" After taking a long sip of my delicious coffee, I set it back down, and gave her a strange look. "What'd you mean?" "He asked you out, Cameron!" She shouted, causing nearby customers to send weird glances out way. I rolled my eyes, and shushed her. "Shhh, I'm not going to do anything. I'll admit, he's pretty good looking, and he's a nice guy, but I don't plan on looking for anyone until my job life is in order." Bri sighed heavily, and slouched her posture. "You've always been so...worky." I chuckled at her choice of words. "Worky?" "Yes," She replied sternly. "Work this, and work that, it's such a let down. You barely have time to do what you want to do." I fiddled with the top of the coffee. "Well what'd you expect from someone who's been trying to pursue her dream? My mama always told me to never give up on a dream just because someone else said that I couldn't do it." "Well I know that, but Cami, it's been a year since we graduated college. Don't you think it's time to go for a more realistic dream?" She asked me. I looked at in disbelief. How could she say that?! Like she said, it's been a year! That's something she should say to someone that's been chasig their dream for ten years, not one! "Bri, it's only been a year! It hasn't been that long you know! I've still got time!" I stood up angrily. "And aren't you suppose to have faith in me? We ARE best friends right? Wrong. I guess not." I threw a ten on the table, and left out of the little cafe ignoring the weak protests behind me. I can't believe she just said that! Just because her dream came true in only a month doesn't mean that mine won't ever come true! I angrily shoved my mitted hands in my trench coat pockets, and looked down at my feet as I walked along the sidewalk of Hongdae. Bri and I had decided that after a day of window shopping that we'd grab a cup of coffee at a small cafe. I've always had a thing for coffee ever since my first taste at 15. At first it tasted weird, but as I kept drinking it in the mornings before school, the more the taste became acquainted with me. My thoughts were interrupted when I felt a wet drop of something hit my cheek. I stopped walking, and looked up at the sky. It was snowing. Well it was the beginning of Decemember. I smiled softly, but as I had begun walking, I was hit by a brick wall. I fell to the cold ground, but luckily my hands were there to prevent my fall from becoming anything serious. My butt just kind of ached from the hard concrete. I heard a small groan come from in front of me. I immediately stood up, and held out my hand to the person in front of me. I really hope he's okay. The guy took my hand, and dusted himself off. I bowed. "I apologize, sir. I should've been watching where I was going." "It's alright. I was the one not paying attention. But I'm glad I ran into such a beautiful girl." I looked up, and instantly felt my cheeks burn. http://images6.fanpop.com/image/photos/32100000/Key-shinee-32194487-800-1112.jpg The guy was...hot. With his semi curly black hair right down to his immensely pink lips. Everything about him screamed hot, but for some odd reason, his voice sounded familiar. A little TOO familiar. I noticed that his lips were turned up into a small smirk. I snapped out of my trance, and looked down. "What's your name?" He asked me in that deep voice of his. It was still familiar. Where had I heard it.... I looked up, and almost died when I looked into his deep dark eyes. "C-Cameron, but my friend calls me Cami." He smiled. "Cami. I like it much better. I'm sire you already know who I am." I squinted my eyes only slightly. "I do?" I knew I did, but where? And how? He fake gasped, and put a hand over his heart as if in shock. "You don't know who I am?" I shook my head. Maybe he was from some tv show or something. "I'm Key, from SHINee."
