They all looked at each other with wary eyes, I could practically see them conversing with just the gaze they throw to each other.
Should we tell her?
We should.
Is she grown enough to know all this? Will she accept the truth? Especially after what happened today. It's quite the shock to innocent people, you know.
We still should. The sooner, the better.
I finally grew impatient with all the mysterious aura surrounding us, so I screamed, "Stop with the eye talk already! Just tell me what's going on!"
They looked at me with eyes wide open, probably shocked with my sudden outburst.
One of them coughed slightly, "Ah, yes. Before so, can I just introduce myself? I'm Kyuhyun."
After saying so, I suddenly saw a pair of fangs lurking behind his lips, small but still seen. I screamed in horror, almost falling in the process.
"Wh-what is that? A-are those fangs? What are you, a vampire?" I pointed a shaky finger at him.
"Quite a guess, I must say. But to answer your question, yes, I am a vampire. Before you say anything, though," he shushed me, "I can tell you that this is quite real. Not a dream of any sorts."
The last man just shakes his head. "Kyu, you'll scare her away is you keep this 'aristocrat' attitude of yours. I'm Donghae, by the way."
"I don't care who your names are! Just tell me why a vampire is with me-wait, are you guys vampires too?" I had an abrupt thought.
"Why yes, yes we are," Henry showed his fangs, continued by Donghae.
"O-okay, then what are three vampires doing with me?"
"Well, for starters, you, milady, are the rightful heir of the Rose Queen, the most powerful of the vampire clans. Which ultimately means that you will rule all the vampires scattered all around the world, and also, making peace with the other beings, too, such as the werewolves, the angels, the devils, et cetera," Kyuhyun explained.
"What? Me? Heir? Vampire? Rose Queen?" I blabbed words, looking lost as ever.
"Yes. However you must note that your blood is hereditary, but is still steal-able. Take that lady, for example. She was ranked Baroness, quite the royalty. She got greedy for glory. She wanted your Rose Queen blood.
"This is how the vampire world works. A vampire being has their own blood determining their ranks. Lowly ranked ones can up their levels, but there is only one way to achieve so. To suck the blood out their body, and giving them yours. It is battlefield in our world, whereas the stronger will rule and the lowers will obey.
"By now, you should've realized that we vampires are very competitive and prideful. That made it that no one wants to be lower, to obey others' commands. Your blood is very rare, the only one in the world, to be exact. Your mother directly gifted you that. All in all, you are in the greatest of dangers with the reds flowing in you." Henry said solemnly, with me gnawing in disbelief of what he just said.
"Let's say I believe this whole vampire world story. Then... how would I know that you guys aren't after my blood either?" I asked suspiciously.
"Good question. How?" Donghae smiled mischievously.
"Yes, how?" Kyuhyun added.
"We're the late Rose Queen, your birth mother,'s personal guards. Our families had served the Rose Queens for ten long generations, now. You can trust us," Henry rolled his eyes at the two's childlish behavior.
"Wait, 'late' you said? Aren't vampires immortal?"
"Nope. We die, approximately around the same time of the human year. Pity,really. I'd want to live eternally," Kyuhyun answered.
"Oh, uhm." I shuffled my feet uncmofortably.
Since that day onwards, I moved in with them three, always staying close with them for safety reasons. I believed the story after some time. After all, the people who always try to bite me on secluded places and my sudden desire to bite someone's neck when they pass by isn't something so random.
It was easy, at first, I just hide under the shadows, unnoticed. However, the boys came to a decision one day, to announce me as the new ruler.
Which means more danger, more people to avoid, more secrets to keep from the humans.
