Kai's Cinderella

Your POV
I sit there surprised that I had just yelled at my father for the first time. I almost blurted out the history of abuse that has been going on under his nose.
I turned Bāozi completely against father. I look over at my brother sleeps peacefully in his sleep. I sigh and push some of his hair behind his ear.
“I’m sorry. Maybe I should have answered him calmly and maybe you wouldn’t hate him. It’s all my fault that it’s like this, isn’t it? I didn’t protect you. I didn’t do anything I thought I was though. I took so much thinking that you didn’t know what was happening behind closed doors.” I keep going on and on about things that I believe is all my fault.
I stop when I feel someone pull you to his or her chest. I look up shocked to see Kai standing there holding onto me.
I sigh and grab a hold of Kai’s shirt and just let out all of my tears. I keep my head there and just let my tears run wild. Kai sits there smoothing out my hair and starts humming a song for me.
Tao and the others stopped by to see my little brother only to see me crying into Kai’s chest.
Tao sighs but soon I look up not because I notice them but because my phone starts ringing, “Hello.”
“Hwa Young!”
I look at the phone shocked. “Crystal,” I call my cousin’s name, “Crystal, are you alright?”
I hear her whimper into the phone and she calls my name again, “Hwa Young! I’m sorry I didn’t believe you.”
“Crystal, what do you mean?” I asked panicked.
“About Ricky he cheated on me,” she says through the phone.
“What?! Where is he I need someone to take my frustration out on someone?”
“No, don’t do that, but my parents don’t want a scene so I’m kind of transferring to your school tomorrow.”
“Wow that soon.”
I hear her whimper, “Yes.”
“Alright come to the hospital to Bāozi’s room I’d like to introduce you to my friends.”
“Alright, but I’m not intruding am I?” she asks worried.
“No, not at all and Bāozi is awake and you should visit your cousin.”
I hang up the phone and click a number on my speed dial, which ends up being Tao’s number.
I hear ringing behind me and turn around to see the guys.
I smile without much thought and almost jump up, but Kai stops me and makes me slowly get up not that it bothered me too much.
“Hi guys,” I say excited.
They look at me shocked not knowing what to say. Here I am smiling as Kai holds me down by my waist after I was crying into his chest. They know that they missed something but they don’t know what they could have possibly missed. They decide it’s the best idea in the world to just forget what they just saw.
“Are you alright if my cousin comes and hangs out with us? She is your age Tao so she’s a year younger than Kai and I… I’m not getting ages messed up am I..?”
They shake their heads, I sit there, and when I see my cousin I jump into her arms.
“Crystal!”
My cousin yells at me in Mandarin not knowing three of the guys know Mandarin.
I laugh at her and pull her to the guys, “Guys, this is my cousin Park Crystal. She’ll be going to our school. What room again maybe you have class with Tao?”
“Sorry who is Tao?” Crystal sounds so scared.
I look at her and sigh then smile, “Tao do some aegyo to show my cousin that you all are not that scary.”
“Neh, noona,” Tao says as he starts doing random aegyo.
Crystal laughs and takes his hands in her and gushes, “Let’s be friends.”
Everyone is surprised and I laugh at her, “Sorry she’s a bit blunt. Trust me on this 1. Tao since you’re the same age as her can you look after her during classes? She has a tendency daydreaming. Also, protect her from… playboys. Sorry to ask this of you, but playboys and jerks are always attracted to her and then they hurt her. Then I might just end up cooking them alive.”
Tao looks at my cousin and nods, “Alright.”
When he smiles I see a light blush on Crystal’s face.
Inside I smile glad that my cousin might fall for a sweet guy.
We hang out in the cafeteria for an extra hour or 2 until everyone decides that they are going to head home.
I look over to see Crystal passed out holding onto Tao.
I look at Kai and he raises his eyebrow until I give him a look and his familiar smirk appears on his face.
“Tao,” he looks over at me, “can you take my cousin home? I can give you her address from the times you and Kris drove me home I think her house is in the same direction as yours.”
Tao looks down at Crystal and nods, “Yeah.”
I give him the address to figure out to my ‘surprise’ she lives a few houses down from him.
As he leaves Kai shouts out, “Don’t pull anything I’d do!”
I hit him and give him a glare before I start laughing.
